Chapter 7

She looked right into my eyes and spat the evil words. The itchy liquids escaped her lips and found my face.

“Uhm, I'm sorry, I'm here on a contract…”

A loud hiss escaped her lips as her feet echoed against the floor loudly, the anger brewing in her chest hit the roof. I was really trying to maintain my cool. Besides, I'm pregnant, I can't get into a fight now.

She advanced speedily, her eyes burning with disgust. My cold feet retreated, moving slowly until my body thud against the wall.

Her hand gripped my neck, her long witchy nails dug into my skin, her long lashes blinking like a bird flapping it's wings.

To be honest, she's a fool, for the record. She has lost my respect, her first impression was totally devastating.

However, her hand slowly tightened as she grabbed me forcefully, my pupils dilating and liquid escaped my eyelids.

That was when loud footsteps echoed down the stairs, slow growl escaped his lips.

“Serena!” His voice echoed from above.

She lessened her grip and I yanked her hands away and dashed out, my heart thundered inside my chest as I looked at him sternly.

It felt like I was not so afraid of him, I just don't understand why I suddenly became cold with his sister. She's so intimidating, he's so annoying.

If things continue this way, it's either they kill me or I kill them, that's certain.

He looked at me surprised, his lips fallen like an old woman's breast.

Instead of him to ask what happened or what the fuss was about, he just folded his arms and stared at me coldly.

If he knew he wasn't going to say anything, why call me in the first place? Well, he saved me, so yeah…

Looking at him pissed me off and I let out a deep sigh of frustration and my feet thundered against the floor upstairs.

After freshening up and changing, Mia invited me downstairs.

“We have visitors, ma'am. Master wants you downstairs…”

I put on my best dress. I was still sexy and hot, my belly was not bulged yet.

She stood by the staircase, tapping her angry heels on the cold floor.

“Just look at yourself?!” She cursed. This was the first welcome.

Bloody hell. Not again.

I thought he had visitors. Can't help control her?

Shame enveloped me as I slowly descended the stairs, the eyes of the men dressed in fancy suits and covered in costly perfumes locked on me.

I felt like the ground should just open and swallow me up.

Why is she like this?

“You look so unpresentable. So this is the rag you choose to wear and present yourself before visitors? Adrian, why didn't you get her clothes? She's so dirty!”

Good lord!!! Tears escaped my eyelids as I looked into Adrian and he just kept quiet.

Like, I'm the woman carrying his child, can't they respect that?!

I just ignored her and walked downstairs headed straight to Adrian who I felt was supposed to defend me.

“Hmmm, is she the one?” One of the men asked, his voice cold and scornful as they all examined me.like I was some lab rat or commodity they were pricing.

“Yes,” he sighed and covered his face in shame. So he's ashamed of me too… Good heavens!

“Go back upstairs!” His voice was commanding and sent chills down my spine.

I can't believe he actually said that to me, the woman carrying his baby.

Enraged and frustrated, I stormed back upstairs, my face pale and covered in tears. She hissed as I passed her and covered her nose, acting as if I stunk.

To be honest, if not for the fact that we signed a contract and I've used the money, I would have returned it and revoked the contract.

What nonsense?!

Mia stayed with me all day, consoling and comforting me.

So my best clothes were rags to them. Goodness!!!

He coy even cover me up. He had the guts to dismiss me right in front of them? What am I even doing here?

I don't think I can take this humiliation from them.

I rose to my feet, my breath shaky and heavy with sobs. My eyes were reddened and I could clearly see my box. My hands reached for them, but Mia held me back.

“You can't do that ma'am. I'm not sure you read the contract you signed well…”

“What do you mean?”

My voice was full of pain and the depth of the overwhelming emotions locked my chest.

“You can't leave. You signed to it. It's binding…”
