Chapter 6

Pain seared through my heart as I packed my clothes. Maria helped me get the other things ready and he just stood by the door, his arms folded, his eyes fixed on me, as if protecting something that could slip off anytime soon.

I wish I could just kill him already. He's such a pain in the ass.

“Hurry up!”

My cold eyes burned with rage as I turned to him.

“Don't just stand there and mope. We could use a hand! I'm carrying your child after all…”

He just smirked and left.

“You have ten minutes to meet me outside…”

That was all and his footsteps echoed across the room. The rage and fury that burned in my soul was more than the heat from a volcano. I felt like grabbing his neck and make him beg for mercy.

After a few minutes more, everything was ready and Maria helped me pack them out.

I know she must have a ton of questions for me, but right now, I ain't in no mood to entertain questions, I have an animal to tame.

How dare he?

The boot clicked after Maria pushed in the last of my box… funny enough, he didn't even help.

He just stood like an anime character, his jawline glowing in the sunlight and his cold face disgusting to me.

He didn't say a word, he just got in and the engine hummed softly. He's so mannerless.

What happened to ladies first?

“Get in!” He spat.

I rolled my eyes at him and grabbed the door handle. My ass found it's way into the comfy chair in the car, but the hate that burned in me sitting with him, no matter how charming he was overwhelmed me.

The drive was cold and silent. No words, just the sound of the engine. He didn't even look at me, I mean, not for once.

Who does that?!

It's clear he wanted to maintain a distance, so did I. I already hate him, why do I feel sad that he's not talking me?

He can go fuck himself!!

The magnificent gate bounced open. It was an automatic one and the chandeliers glowed with fancy lights and flowers laced in it.

The engine hummed softly as he drove into the parking lot. His door clicked open and he alighted. I sat tight, waiting for him to come get my door and bring me down.

However, after waiting for a few minutes, the beeping sound of the car locking echoed in my ears.

“Hey!!!”

My hands jammed the window as my voice escaped as muffled screams through the tiny openings. My heart thumped with fear as the cranking of the heavy garage door slowly descended.

My feet pounded the door and window, my quivering voice echoing through the car.

Suddenly, the door stopped.

My heart skipped a beat and I suddenly went quiet.

The rustling sounds of the iron ascending filled the air as he approached the car. The beeping sound of the car unlocking sang in my ears. Immediately, I forced the door open and fell off in the process.

“Weren't you planning to get out?” He scorned, his stern face vexing my soul. The way my eyes rolled at him told him I'll just chew him if he dared come closer.

“So that's all you have to say?!” The growl escaped my lips as I couldn't contain my anger anymore.

Like, you can just imagine! He even help me get up, he just stood there, moping like a cow…

“Is this how you'll treat the woman carrying your child?”

My voice echoed across the spacious compound. He just looked at me mockingly and thereafter, his footsteps echoed in the distance.

“Hey!!!”

“When you're done, see yourself inside. The maids will come get your bags.”

The hell!

My cold hands covered my face in shame and anger as I crashed to the ground.

I don't know why I even accepted such a deal in the first place? I can't even have my peace of mind anymore… one thing is certain, he'll drive me crazy soon and definitely, I'll maul him.

In my dilemma, a warm hand brushed against my shoulder.

My eyes shone brightly as I jerked my head sharply and rose to my feet. A beautiful looking Cinderella faced girl stood before me, her glowing eyes beaming with joy as she helped me back up.

“I'm sorry I startled you…”

Her smile was heavenly. She must be his sister or something.

“I'm Mia, the maid. Let me go get your bags so you'll get settled.”

I was speechless. Like, just look at the pretty damsel, a maid… nah!

This is crazy. Her eyes glowed like embers. I loved her skin that shone like sapphires.

No, just look at me, how hard my skin is. I buried my head in shame as I followed the beauty in, our feets clicking against the tiled floor.

The beautiful scenery inside was more like paradise. Everything was just so perfect, I mean, I'm speechless. I can't even describe what my eyes are seeing right now…

My goodness. Amazing statues and lots of arts displayed on various corners.

“He must have a knack for art…” The words escaped beneath my breath.

“Make yourself comfortable ma'am… I'll go drop your bags upstairs and get you something to eat. You're welcome…”

How angelic…

I was blushing at the way she addressed me ma'am. I wish Maria was here to witness this.

My eyes scanned round the area, enjoying the amazing pictures littered all over.

However, one thing I noticed was that in all the pictures, he always stood alone. I mean, no woman by his side.

So that's te level of his stupidity? A man of his class and status wouldn't have a woman in his life?

What's really going on?

My warm hands trailed the beautiful lion statue that stood by the corner, the gems glowed in my eyes.

Just then, I heard footsteps approaching.

“Mia, this is so beautiful…”

“Get away from there immediately.” The voice was cold as fuck. My heart skipped a beat as I jerked sharply.

A woman, mid twenties, darkened eyelids, long lashes and nails stood by the stair case, her essence burning with fury.

I was pale and speechless.

“Hi…” the words were barely audible.

“So you're the slut he brought home this time?”
