Chapter 7

As Lorenzo was walking closer to the house he paused, he couldn't hear Isabella's footsteps because he knew how she couldn't obey a single word. Is unlike her. He turned his eyes scanning as he called out. “Isabella!” He waited but couldn't hear any response from her, this is really getting into him that something was wrong. He sensed danger and this looked like a trap.

Lorenzo being a mafia can notice danger but he couldn't believe Isabella could get herself involved in anything like that. He didn't bother calling again as his movement was swift, running towards his car. Getting to the car it was empty. His eyes scanned the environment as he ran around the car searching if she left for another place. He couldn't get any clue of where she was.

Now he is really concerned about her safety. Just then as he looked close he could see footprints, he followed it close as his face bowed to ground following the footprints, as he followed, he would raise his head for any potential trait. As he came to the road he could see a young woman, wrapped with a black bag to her neck being forced into a van, but then it fell on him that it was Isabella, because of her white off-shoulder dress which she was wearing. He couldn't wait a minute before he started pursuing the van.

But he was not fast enough to catch up with them before they could start speeding. He stopped, because there is how fast he goes that he could be able to meet up with the car.

But he was fast enough to memorise the plate number of the van. He quickly pulled out his phone from his pocket and dialled a number.

“Leo I need your help as fast as possible right now” he said, his voice commanding over the phone as his eyes couldn't leave the road with as his heart was pounding, he released a big sigh. Leonardo, Lorenzo's step brother and the go-to guy for gathering intel. With his messy brown hair, he looked more like a college student than a mafia affiliate.

“What is it bro?, you know I am always ready for anything” he said.

“I need you to track a car's location and find out who is behind this” Lorenzo barked, like a lion that the prey was taken away from it. Leo nodded as if he was seeing him and started typing away on his computer.

Leonardo's voice came through the line, “what is going on? You sound like someone is after you.”

“No one is after my life, is about Isabella, the lady I told about that saved my life at the hospital. It doesn't matter for now just give me the location of the car” Lorenzo said, his gaze never left the road, as he called the car's plate number for Leonardo.

Leonardo's voice turned serious as he started typing in the van's plate number.

Lorenzo's heart was still racing from the chase as he sat down in his car waiting to receive another from Leonardo, he rested his head on the steering of his car. Just then Leo's voice came back to the phone.

“Just hold on for a few minutes and I will be through with it.” Lorenzo started the car ready to move anytime. He has been really attracted to Isabella, that he couldn't let anything bad happen to her.

Immediately Leonardo said. “Hello, are you there.?” Lorenzo raised his head as he held the phone tightly close to his ear. “I am with you, what did you find out?” He said as he was trying to steady his racing heart.

“I got the Van's location, but I think there is a problem, the location is at 5th Avenue.”

Lorenzo's grip on the phone tightened, “where are they and where are they on 5th Avenue?”

“They are heading towards the old warehouse.” Leo said his voice was firm and urgent. The old warehouse that had been a dangerous place. The place has been a meeting point for the rivals of the Santoro family, but had been abandoned to decay and rot for years now.

“Bro I am coming with you, that place is dangerous for you to go alone and also the team” Leonardo said his concern evident.

Lorenzo's jaw clenched, “Leo it is my chase, and allow me to take my chase.” He yelled into the phone, his anger and frustration boiling, with a swift he turned off the call and checked his piece to be sure that it was still holstered at his side, before speeding away towards the location.

Isabella's eyes flickered open, but she couldn't see anything as her vision was blurry from the coverage. her head pounding in accordance with the flames of her sanctuary. Shee was met with an eerie silence, the only sound she could hear was that of a distant engine.

As her face adjusted to the dim light she saw him, Matteo's face plastered with a smile of victory, his smile twisted in a cruel grin.

“Welcome to your new home Isabella” he said, his voice filled with malice. “You would be staying here until you pay me my money, since you think you can run and start ignoring my calls.”

Isabella's heart was still racing and her mind concerned about the blow when she was struggling. Matteo's laughter echoed through the room which sent shivers down her spine. It dawned on her that she was trapped in Matteo's mercy.

“You should have paid me when you had the chance but no, you decided to run and come to Italy and you think I can't find you Isabella?” Matteo said as his face was inches away from her, as he released her jaw for her to have herself back.

Isabella's eyes scanned the room but it was so dark to see how many guards were there, she tried to lose herself but it was tight which was given her Mark's on her pale skin. Just as she raised her face she saw a small sinister device he was holding, immediately her heart started racing.
