Chapter 6

The party was really stressful for Jeff. He preferred to be at work than seeing ladies drool over him. His father was going to kill him if he didn't come and that was the reason he was here and he planned to sneak out any moment from now.

Jeff knew sneaking out wouldn't be that easy because every lady in the room was looking at him and a single shift from him would be noticed. He hated his popularity but there was nothing he could do.

He took a sip of the drink placed before him and then he noticed an intense look on him. He didn't want to care because most ladies were ogling him but this feeling seemed very different.

It didn't feel like the look of lust that others have. So he turned to the direction and he saw big blue eyes peering at him. His heart skipped and this was a shock to him. He has never been scared in his entire life and now his heart was pounding so fast.

"What could this be?" he thought.

"Are you alright sir?" his assistant asked him.

" I'm fine," he groaned.

The guy looked at him in disbelief but didn't say anything. He knows who his boss is and wouldn't want to receive his angry glare.

Jeff couldn't take his glance off in that direction. He was even oblivious to the ladies in the direction trying to rearrange themselves when they saw he was looking in that direction. The blue eyed he focused on seemed to be scared and to the way she dressed she was a lowly maid.

"Sir," his assistant called.

"What!" he smothers a shout.

He was angry about the interruption. He was trying to screen the lady with his eyes and see if he could get information about her and why she had so much effect on him just by mere looking.

"The chairman is calling you," He said quickly.

He was referring to Jeff's father.

"Why?" he asked with a frown.

His assistant was wondering why he was so rattled up. Although his boss wasn't with the best attitude, he is a good person. He is just the false of what he shows people to be.

"I don't know sir. He just said to meet with him immediately at the hall's library" he informed.

Jeff seemed to envisage what his father wanted to talk about and this really drew a scowl from him. He walked reluctantly out of the Hall.

"Ah" Kim screamed in her heart.

Something was so done to her as she watched the guy intensely.

She tried not to react so as not to cause trouble for herself. She knew she needed to talk to the guy but she didn't know how to.

The security around him is so tight and not even someone has lowly has her would get a chance to move close to Jeff. She would be thrown out even before she reached a distance to him.

Kim really needed to talk with the guy. Just as she racked her brain to devise a plot, she saw him stand up and walked out. She knew this was her opportunity.

"Tasha," she called softly.

Tasha dashed her a stern look to remind her of her earlier warning. If not for Kim refusing to call Tasha madam when Tasha had mandated her to do so, she would have really proved herself to be a maid.

"I'm so sorry but I feel pressured," she said with a pleading look.

Kim tried to feign the posture that she was indeed pressed and needed to visit the restroom immediately.

"I don't care. You are going nowhere" Tasha said with gritted teeth.

"Please I know you wouldn't want me to disgrace you among your friends and this wealthy family. Please just let me ease myself. I won't take long" Kim plead earnestly as she saw Jeff's retreating back.

She didn't want to lose sight of him but Tasha was proving stubborn.

"I give you one minute," Tasha said between her teeth.

"Thank you" Kim said happily and ran out.

"Fool" Tasha said in disdain.

Kim went through the passage that she saw Jeff go through but he was nowhere to be found. She didn't want to go further so as not to trespass into private property. She waited at the passage pacing knowing he would definitely return through this passage.

Kim stayed for a while and she was beginning to get impatient. She knew Tasha would skin her alive when she returned to the party. She prayed in her heart that the person she's waiting for will show up but it seems he has gone out another way.

She bowed her head defeated. Tasha will make her life a living hell and then her parents will do worse. She has been avoiding more punishment but this would eventually earn her a big one.
