Chapter 2

Evelyn's POV

The same thought kept crossing my mind as I ventured home.

DID THAT JUST HAPPEN?! DID I JUST MEET SAMMY MATRIX AND GET INVITED TO HIS CONCERT AS HIS GUEST?!

Okay Ev you gotta breathe. Deep breaths.

Okay.

Okay.

You need to get ready.

The time flew quickly. Before I knew it was 4 pm when my phone vibrated and I saw a message

*Text Message with Unknown Number*

"Hey Ev! It's Sammy Matrix. Can you send me your address so we can get you?"

"Sure! It's 26 Illuminate Ave it's the last house on the right."

"Got it! We'll pick you up at 5! See you soon!"

"See ya!"

*End of Text Message*

What time is it?

I looked at the clock and saw it was 4:02. Okay that's enough time for a quick shower. 15 minutes of me singing my heart out to Sammy's music in the shower later I got changed, ate, and brushed my teeth, then threw my long black hair into a high ponytail. It's now 4:30 and I'm all ready. My camera bag is all ready. All that's left is to put my shoes on. 4:55 comes along. And I'm finishing checking everything. My phones charged ,I have a battery pack,batteries, and then 5 pm comes when another text comes through.

*Text message with Sammy Matrix*

"Hi again! I think we're here."

"Yeah I see you. I'm coming out now."

*End of Text Message*

I grabbed my camera and my mini backpack and I'm now out the door and in a car with Shawn frickin Mendes. Somebody needs to pinch me.

"Hey! Nice to see you again!"

He smiled brightly as I open the car door.

"Hey! It's nice to see you again too!" I smiled back.

"Evelyn this is my manager Steve and you already know Jason. Everyone else is at the venue setting up."

"Hi Jason nice to see you again!"

"It's nice to see you too!"

"Hello Evelyn I'm Steve it's great to meet you"

He stuck his hand out for me to shake it. I shook his hand and responded.

"Hi Steve it's great to meet you too!"

"Ev did you bring your camera with you?" Sammy asked me.

"Yeah it's right here."

I pulled my camera out of the bag and turned it on.

"Hey is it okay if I look at some of your photos now?" Jason asked.

"Sure! Go ahead!"

I handed him my camera. Little did I know what was gonna come out of it.

"These are amazing Evelyn!"

Jason's eyes lit up every time he saw a new photo on my camera.

"Oh thank you!"

I showed him more photos that I had saved on my phone and he was more ecstatic this time. Before I knew it Steve had an offer for me I couldn't refuse.

"Wow! Evelyn you've got some potential! How'd you'd like to come on tour with us as one of our photographers?"

Did I just hear that correctly?

Steve just asked me to go on TOUR with them as a photographer!

"Wait really? Yes! Thank you so much!"

My face hurts from smiling at the point. We finally reached the venue and Sammy walked me in.

"Did that just happen?" I mumbled under my breath.

Sammy let out a chuckle and responded.

"Yes. Yes it did. We have a hour before I need to go to the meet and greet so tell me about yourself."

And that's what I did. I told him about my parents,my sisters,our musical household, how the dogs are the only quiet ones, and how I love singing and photography.

"Now that you know everything about me can I hear about you?"

"Of course!"

As he was about to say something else Steve came to get him for the meet and greet and told me to find Jason. I wondered around the venue searching and asking around if anyone had seen him. Then I found him and he explained what my task was.

"Okay so two of us will be behind the stage and two will be in front and then we will switch.”

"Okay who am I with?"

"If I can find her you're with Dixie oh there she is. DIXIE!"

"Hey Jason!" Dixie said cheerfully.

"Dixie this is Evelyn make sure you show her the ropes and fill her in. I gotta go help with the meet and greet photos I'll see you later.”

"Hi Dixie! It's wonderful to meet you!" "

Hey! It's great to meet you!"

The concert started a while after I finally understand what I was doing.

"Okay so we will be in back of the stage first. Then when Sam runs to the B-stage we follow and we then take photos there. Then after that we stay in front of the stage the rest of the show."

"Okay I think I got it now.”

"Don't worry. Just follow my lead. You'll be fine trust me!"

And I did just that. I followed her lead perfectly. The photos I took that night were the best I've ever taken. Sammy posted a few of my photos on his Twitter and I couldn't help but read comments  :

"OMG THESE ARE AMAZING WHOEVER TOOK THESE IS BRILLIANT! : SHAWN THESE ARE AMAZING OH MY!!

"IM ABSOLUTELY AMAZED BY THESE WONDERFUL JOB!!"

"WOW JUST WOW!"

Wow everyone's loving my photos. I'm still in shock. This can't be real right? It's gotta be a dream.

"Hey you okay?"Sammy asked worried.

"Yeah. Yeah I'm good. I still think I'm dreaming.

He must've read my mind because he then pinched my arm

"OUCH! What was that for?"

"Now you know this isn't a dream.”

He smiled at me.

"Ev we leave early tomorrow so you should get home now and pack Come on I'll drive you home.”

"Okay Thank you!"

The 20 min car ride consisted of us getting to know each other better and singing along to the radio. Then we reached my house. You don’t know how much I didn't want that car ride to end.

"I'll text you when we are coming to get you in the morning.”

"Sounds good!"

"Oh and by the way. Evelyn?"

"Yeah?"

"You've got a great singing voice!"

"Thank you Sammy!"

I smiled and we said our goodbyes and I spent all night packing my things.
