CHAPTER 3
Dia's POV
That Mr Jerkhead I can't believe that he has the never to mock me.
Well, practically he can do that after all, he has that much power. Great now my subconscious was mocking me. I was having a problem with my boss but now where should I complain. Argh, why does he has to be such an arrogant bastard?
Wait, Dia, just because he made you miss your subway that doesn't mean you will think about him all the time. I am not thinking about him and anyways I have better work to do.
I quickly changed into my work clothes and headed towards the office. Today was the first time when I was going to interview someone else. I was nervous but well I had done that before, but the first time for this company. While I was setting my things up in the conference room Allie came and said that Mr Rai was calling me. God, why can't he just leave me alone? I went to the office.
I knocked and he said to come in. As in I was waiting for that.
"Good morning Mr Rai," I said with the fakest smile I could possibly radiate on my face.
Without looking up he said "So today you are interviewing some people I suppose" he stated in a cold voice.
"Yes sir was that all you wanted to say then I may take your leave," I said.
"Why are you always in a hurry," he asked.
"I'm not in a hurry it's just that those candidates must have come and I don't want to show up late," I said.
"But before that I want you to keep some points in your mind while interviewing them I want the most qualified person for the job so please find a person like that. You may leave" he then returned back to his work. How dare he.
"Okay sir I will keep that point in mind and I obviously don't need your permission to stay or leave" with that I left his office.
There was a total of six candidates I had interviewed only five but no one was as good as the previous person in the export department. There was this last person left Samuel Miller. He had a good qualification and was experienced. Well, let's see. There was a knock on the door I quickly wore my glasses.
"Come in," I said and a person in format suit entered somehow I was not getting a good vibe from him.
"You must be Mr Miller have a seat," I said while gesturing him to sit.
"Oh please drop the formalities, Dia," he said while sitting. The jerk. I forced a smile.
"You have a great GPA and experienced what was the reason for you to leave your previous job," I asked while looking through his file.
"Well if I hadn't left those then it would have not been possible to meet you," he said with a smirk.
This made me even more uncomfortable.
"Well you can be all flirty later but this is a job interview and not a tinder date" I tried to say in a firm voice.
"Oh feisty much sweetheart," he said while touching my hand. I quickly removed my hand. I would have kicked his ass if I was not in the office I can't lose this job. The rest of the interview went all right of course with his all uncomfortable gestures.
"Okay Mr Miller we will let you know if you got the job," I said.
"Sure but can I have your number so I can call you and finish my unfinished business," he said in the most disgusted tone.
"I think you should leave" with that I walked assay with all the files. What an ass.
I knocked on Mr Rai's cabin and then entered.
"So were you able to find any suitable candidate," he asked.
"Yes according to you I got one" I gave him the file "Ummm... Samuel Miller" please reject him I prayed internally.
His intense gaze never left the file when he finally said " Rejected" what.
"But he has a great qualification," I said why the hell was I even defending him.
"I don't want anyone in my company who make other employees uncomfortable," he said while closing the file.
"How do you know that," I asked.
"Miss Patil seriously this my company I know everything which is happening in this building" arrogant much.
"That hardly makes a difference I won't be working with him though," I said.
"My decision is final interview some more people we will find someone better," he said.
"Okay," I said that and left. Well, I later realised that the conference room had cameras so probably he saw that dickhead flirting with me. No big deal. At last, it was about his reputation.
Aarav's POV
Well, it was kind of strange on my behalf to reject a candidate just on his flirty behaviour. I never used to do that but when that person was touching Dia my blood boiled. There was a certain urge in me to kill that person. I had never reacted like this.
Don't tell me Aarav you have a certain liking for your HR manager. My conscience mocked me.
There was no way that I liked that stubborn girl. She always argues with me. I can never ever like her. It was at last lunchtime and suddenly my office door busted open and there he was Rishi. Why the hell is he here. I thought to myself.
"Hi Mr So-Busy-CEO you are so busy that you have no time for me," he said while taking sitting on the visitor's seat.
"Rishi you know I am busy then why are you here let me work," I said while studying the file.
"Come on Aarav don't be such a workaholic person even dad is not like you now," he said.
"So what do you want," I asked while shutting the file.
"Let's go for lunch together then I will go back to the hospital," he asked with that irritating smile of his.
"No thank you," I said in a cold voice.
"But please come on I ju-" he was interrupted by the knock on my door. Before I could even say come in Dia entered. What the hell. Now this Rishi will think something else. God, what's her problem.
"Miss Patil have you ever heard of something known as manners," I asked she so irritating.
"Wasn't knocking on the door was manners?" she asked innocently.
"You should have waited for me to say 'come in'" I said.
"Well I don't need your permission" she then handed me some files "anyways these are some files of the new employees which were hired by your ex HRM do you want me to re-interview them all," she asked in disbelief.
"Yes review them all and it should be done by tomorrow" I heard her murmur which sounded something like Jerkhead. God, I saw Rishi looking at her with amusement.
"Hi I am Rishi," he said with great amusement.
"So?" She asked while raising her eyebrow. Okay, I admit Rishi had that charm but the way she reacted was really very surprising.
"You know what I like you" what the hell.
"Excuse me?" She said in disbelief.
"No I mean you are the first person besides me who has pissed off Aarav bhai so much," he said with that same ridiculous expression plastered on his face.
"Really well then I am really privileged to know that but now I need to go otherwise my boss here will be really very angry with me," she said with a sweet giggle and walked away.
"Well I think that I don't want your company for lunch anymore" with that he also walked away.
After a while, I saw Dia and Rishi exiting the floor together. Rishi said something and Dia laughed at it. I am gonna kill Rishi but why do I even care if he is flirting with my employee. If he wants to then he can totally but I need to keep him away from her. I called my bodyguard Vincent and asked him to follow them.
When then clock struck two Vincent entered.
"Sir I did as you asked," he said.
"So what were they doing," I asked.
"Sir they had lunch and maybe talked about someone mutual," he said.
"Okay you may go," I said and he went away.
Someone mutual.
I resumed back to my work. When it was almost seven I called Dia to my cabin.
Knock knock.
"Enter," I said.
"You called me Mr Rai," she asked.
"Yes Miss Patil please have a seat," I said. She quickly sat down. I shoved a file towards her "this is a contract which every new employee signs it basically states the company policy and all the things related to your working rules. You can't take leave before three months working for this company. You can't really have any sort of personal relationship with any of the employees here and etc you can read, it is fairly detailed I want to you to submit it to Allie tomorrow morning. You are dismissed" I said that and she went out. Strange she didn't say anything well it's good for me.
I quickly finished my work and then decided to leave. While looking at my cabin I saw Dia in her cabin. She was wearing her black-rimmed glasses and her hair was as usual in a messy top knot. She was still going through the employee's list with a frown in her face. I decided to go to her and tell her to leave. Why the hell was she doing overtime?
"Miss Patil it almost 9 I think you should leave" she looked up at me and replied.
"Ummm yeah I will just leave," she said while closing the file.
I waited for her to pack and then we made ourr way towards the elevator.
"Till yesterday you were fighting with me for making you wait for so long and today you were yourself doing overtime why this sudden change," I said with a chuckle. She didn't answer when I saw her she was blankly staring at the closed elevator door.
"Miss Patil," I said she still didn't respond. But when she, at last, heard me all she said was sorry and quickly hurried out of the elevator. I asked her if she wanted a lift or something but she simply said no I knew the subways would have been shut. I asked my driver to follow her but all she was doing was just walking. There were not many people around. Today she was not acting herself I don't know what was the matter with her. When she got the cab I asked my driver to follow the cab and I then went back to get my other car. I then drove back to my penthouse.
Dia's POV
As soon I reached home I busted into tears. I was not supposed to cry stop it, Dia, you ate string you are not supposed to cry. Stop it. I kept repeating it to myself. I quickly washed my face and changed myself into pyjamas. I kept repeating not to cry but it was not helping it seemed impossible for me to sleep that night but soon I was in my deep slumber.
