CHAPTER 2

Dia's POV

It was almost 8 I thought of making some dinner for me. I quickly made some pasta for me and then started watching Sherlock. It's so irritating when you are at the most interesting part of the episode and then all someone needs to call you at that time. It was so irritating. It was an unknown number. So I switched on the silent mode and ignored it.

I was still not able to concentrate on the show. What if someone important might be calling. I then decided to call back.

Ring ring ring.

"Hello, Ria Industries how May I help you," asked the operator.

"Hi I received a call from you sorry I was not able to pick it up at that time," I said.

"Yes ma'am I had called are you, Dia Patil," she asked.

"Umm... Yes, I am" did I got the job.

"Well, congratulations Miss Patil you got the HR position. We expect you to show up at 9 am sharp our CEO Mr Rai doesn't entertain tardiness. Have a nice day" she then hung up.

Okay! Did I really get the job?

I quickly set my clothes for tomorrow. I then quickly messaged Abeer telling him about me getting the job he congratulated me and then I set my alarm and went to sleep.

God this alarm is so irritating but it is quite useful. I quickly got up and went to the bathroom I did my business and then took a quick shower I changed my clothes had my breakfast and then went towards the subway station.

Aarav's POV

It was a bright Monday morning I was going to the office after a week I need a lot to catch up with my secretary and other departments head. I quickly took a shower and then changed into a brand new Armani suit. I was in my penthouse I don't live with my parents but occasionally do visit them.

I was now in the car James my driver was driving at a normal phase I was checking few mails when he said "sir we have arrived" I quickly got out of the car with my two bodyguards closely following me.

"Good morning Mr Rai" Jessica the receptionist hurried towards me. "Sir all the department heads are waiting for you in the conference room," she said while giving me some files and briefing me about the activities that were going on in my absence. I reached the conference room. The meeting went well mostly others saying and me just nodding. The meeting was over and went towards my cabin and shortly my secretary Allie entered she was a down to earth girls he was not like the previous secretary she never questioned me much and minded her own business.

"Sir the new HR manager is here to meet you shall I send her in," she asked.

"Yes please," dad had told me about that he had hired a new HR manager. Let's see.

There was a knock on my door and I asked the person to come in I think the HR person. I looked up at her and the first thing that caught me off guards were her eyes they were the best eyes I had ever come across. Her face was innocently looking. What the hell why I am admiring her face.

"Good morning Mr Rai," she said while flashing her radiant smile. "I am Dia Patil and hopefully I will be the new HR manger"

"Come Miss Patil have a seat," I said while pushing all my thoughts away. "I had a look through your CV second in the university and if my father has selected you then he might have thought something while selecting you so my secretary Allie will show your cabin I will be sending some files so that you can go through them and understand everything," I said.

"Okay," she replied. I then called Allie in.

"Allie show her around and then take these files from me and give it to her and Miss Patil if you have any questions ask Allie she will help you out," I said in my cold tone and got back to my work.

"Sure Mr Rai have a good day" she replied and then they exited my cabin.

It was almost one I guess everyone left for their lunch I decided to go and have a surprise lunch with mom. I called her and luckily she agreed. When I was waiting for the elevator I saw Dia exiting her cabin well she was talking to someone on her phone. Her hair was in a messy bun unlike when it was down in the morning but still, she was looking good.

".....okay fine wait downstairs I am coming," she said and then hung up. "Oh Mr Rai I guess I am not supposed to use this elevator sorry but I used it in the morning," she said while practically swinging which was kind of cute. She said when she saw me and then turned around to wait for the other elevator. My elevator arrived "you can use this one, come" I offered.

"Thank you" and then I entered after her.

The elevator ride was short and silent. When the elevator stopped at the ground floor Dia hurriedly got out and then I made my way towards my car. I then noticed that Dia went to a person, god knows who hugged him and then went away. He had a bag pack and a camera bag but she hugged him there was some odd kind of sensation inside me but I pushed and asked the driver to drive to the restaurant. Mom must be waiting for me.

Dia's POV

It was a surprise to me when Abeer called me and said that he was waiting for me outside my office building. I was really very excited to see him. He worked with a travel company so it was very rare that I could meet him although he is just like a to me brother.

"I missed you terribly," I said while hugging him real tight.

"Oh really but I didn't miss you," he said.

"Yeah whatever," I said while narrowing my eyes.

"Just kidding," he said with a chuckle. "So are you treating me today. New job new you. Say what"

"Okay you pick my treat," I said and then we started walking. It was mid-October and it had started getting a little bit chilly. We had our lunch then I headed back to my new office after giving him the keys of his apartment. We bid our byes and then I entered the elevator. When I entered my cabin I saw a huge pile of files. Oh god. It also had a note beside it.

To New HR manager

Next time don't be late from your lunch break or you might find another huge pile of employees record which you might require to study before you go back home.

Oh just because I was late by three minutes he gave me this huge pile of file. Fine if he thinks I will whine and complain then forget it Mr Jerkhead I will do it. I then got down to work. By the time I finished doing my work it was already eight. I still had thirty minutes to catch the last subway. Thank god. I quickly took all the files and dropped it in Mr Jerkhead's office. Thank god he was not there otherwise he would have questioned me then. I quickly kept it on the table and turned around a bit to my dismay I met with Mr Jerkhead who was standing right in front of me.

"So you were escaping from here," he said in a cold tone.

"Who me?" I asked. "Never ever Mr Jer- Rai" just missed thanking god. He narrowed his eyes I hope he didn't listen to that.

"Have you finished your work?" he asked in a cold tone that sent shivers down my spine.

"Yeah I guess that's why I am keeping all your files here," I said in a duh tone.

"Good at least you are serious about your work," he said that and moved away from me. God, it was suffocating.

"Wait in your cabin till the time I check all the details," he said while sitting on his chair.

What!!!! Are kidding me right now.

"And how much time will that take Mr Rai" I tried to be as sweet as possible.

"Do you have a problem Miss Patil?" he said while still reading the file.

"Yes I have a problem," I said without even thinking. Argh, stupid idiot Dia.

"And what's that," he asked in the same tone.

"If you will not let me go now then I will miss my last subway," I said while stomping my feet. He then looked up at me with an amused look on his face.

"Miss Patil you are acting really very childish right now," he said with a smirk.

"I know so how can I go," I asked in a pleading tone.

"Go waiting in your cabin I'll do it before 8:30" he then dismissed me.

I was now waiting in my cabin. I then started calculating how much time will it exactly take me to reach the station. According to my calculations, it will take me approximately six minutes to reach the station and then one minute in the line and finally on the train. So approximately seven minutes that means I need to get out of the office at least at 8:22. And it was 8:15 oh no I need to go now. I then decided to go inside his cabin.

"You are in great hurry" he suddenly said when I entered his cabin he was so very close to me. I could smell his intoxicating cologne. Stop it, Dia!!! I scolded myself.

"Yes I am in a great hurry now can I go and by the way my working hours were only till 7:30 and now it's 8 Mister you can't make me stay more than that," I said while showing him the time. "You have such an expensive watch but it would have been better if you had learnt how to read time" shut up Dia I scolded myself internally. He was just staring at me like that. Why does this need to be so weird?

"Well be thankful that there were no mistakes in your report otherwise you would have been sitting in the office till midnight to the whole assignment again" that's it is he working in an office or some school teacher.

"Thank you very much Mr So- Called-Boss that you have finally given me the permission to go thank you very much for showing some mercy," I said a little more dramatically and then while stomping my feet I went away.

I was currently running towards the subway I didn't want to take the taxi because then that would have been way too expensive than the subway. All my calculations were destroyed because of that stupid Jerkhead. And now because I jade missed the last subway. Great just great. The streets were almost deserted I was trying to look for a taxi when a sleek Ashton Martin stopped in front of me. And the person who came out was the last person I ever wanted to see.

"So you missed your last subway," he asked with a smirk while leaning again the car.

I let out a laugh and said "Nope it's my hobby to roam the streets at night" I said.

"You can't answer properly now can you," he said while narrowing his eyes.

"Happy realisation," I said that and then started moving away from that filthy rich spoilt brat.

"Well if you want I can drop you," he said.

"Dhonyabad(thank you) but you will be the last... no wait you will be the last person one from whom I will be taking help" I said that and luckily I spotted a taxi also.

I quickly got into that taxi gave him the address and then he drove off. Thank god I didn't have to take a lift from that arrogant person. I soon reached home I quickly had my dinner and then went to bed I will not be working overtime if it is not told me beforehand with that thought I went into a deep slumber.
