Eve
“You have to mark her again but before that, you have to swear that you won’t ever hurt her and you have to come clean to her alpha and her brother!”
I told him. he swallowed before he spoke.
“They know.”
Oh great. They knew who he was and still let him mate with their sister.
What a crazy bunch. Since they already know, there’s only one thing that needs to be done.
“You are not going to leave her, right?”
He nodded.
“Words! I need words because once you mark her in the places I am going to tell you, she will have your baby! A hybrid and you know what that means for your child, right?”
He nodded which made me glare at him.
“Yes, I know.”
He finally spoke. His voice sounded so sad.
I couldn’t waste more time. I moved closer to the woman and whispered in her ear.
“Are you sure about this?”
I asked her.
“Yes, I love him.”
She said with tears. I nodded in understanding.
“You have to mark her three more times to strengthen your bond.
I pointed at the areas he needed to mark her and turned to the older midwife.
“Be ready to have the baby.”
She nodded without question and positioned herself.
“Do it.”
I told the distressed panther and he obeyed without question.
I have only done this method once before and it was when Knox had asked me to help the human mate of an alpha, whom he intended to work with.
My method had worked and that helped Knox a lot back then.
I wish I hadn’t helped him.
That was one of the many times I used my skill to help him even though he already had my powers.
I shook off the thought of him and focused on the two unlikely lovers.
Once the panther marked her in the third and final spot, she screamed.
Not even up to two minutes later, she pushed out the baby who fell right into the midwife’s hands and started wailing immediately.
I ignored the baby and quickly went to the mother.
I placed my hands on her and filled her up with my energy.
She already suffered enough. No need for her to be in more pain and no one will ever know I used my healing powers on her.
“She will sleep for a while. I will help clean her up while she attends to the baby. You can leave.”
I told her and the scardy panther shook his head.
“I don’t want to leave her side.”
I felt so jealous of her in that moment.
She found her special someone. He might not be a wolf but he clearly loves her so much and puts her first.
I was mated to a wolf and all he did was take from me.
I helped clean up Ella before leaving the lovers in the room.
When I walked out of the room, both Axel and Rhys were in the living room.
They looked worried.
“Have you seen the baby?”
They both nodded and looked at me expectantly.
“She is okay. They are both okay. But I have a question.”
I told them.
“Why did you let her mate with him knowing who he is?”
I asked them. They both looked at each other before they looked back at me.
Rhys answered me.
“I would much rather have my sister and only blood-related family member I have with me than lose her.”
He told me with so much feeling in his voice.
I could tell by the way he spoke that he cared deeply about his sister.
“So, you let her mate with an enemy and even let her get pregnant with his baby? Did you not know that having his kids without following the proper mating process required for mates of different breeds, she could have died?”
He looked shocked at my words.
I refuse to believe that he didn’t know the danger of what he let his sister get into.
If I hadn’t come here with them, the midwife wouldn’t have known what was wrong with her and she would have died with the baby in her womb.
“She could have died, moron!”
I yelled at him.
“If I didn’t come, she would have died and you wouldn’t have had a living sister!”
I told him.
He needed to know the kind of danger he let his sister get into by mating with the enemy.
“You let them mate and didn’t know to take precautions.”
I scolded Rhys even more.
“I don’t tell her what to do. She is grown and knows what’s best for her.”
He told me.
“Are you not older than her?”
I let out.
From what I have seen the couple was young. They should be at most twenty-two and looking at Rhys, he should be at least thirty.
Not to mention that he is beta and Axel is alpha! They could have stopped her.
“I am older but that doesn’t mean I can speak for her or tell her what she can or can’t do.”
I looked at Axel.
“And you couldn’t use your alpha position to stop her from mating with an enemy?
They both looked offended that I referred to the panther as an enemy which made no sense since their pack literally got attacked by his kind.
