##Chapter 4

The guests attending the celebration were all leaders from packs with deep partnerships with the Blackwood Pack.

Kael had always been a spoiled young lord, only knowing how to enjoy life, with no interest in leading the pack.

Before, the old Alpha managed the pack, and then he entrusted it to me.

Most of those present didn't know Kael well, but they had all dealt with me.

Some had packs on the verge of collapse. I, with my keen insight, saw potential in their packs and helped them through cooperation. Afterward, they expressed their gratitude, saying I was like their savior.

Some initially harbored prejudice against me, a Luna who had supposedly risen through marriage. But throughfacing rogue attacks together, they came to respect me wholeheartedly and became my closest allies.

As for those eager to befriend me and maintain their connections, their numbers were countless.

But now, they either avoided my gaze or openly showed contempt in their eyes.

"Lyra, looking at me won't help. If you had chosen to part ways amicably with the Blackwood Pack just now, I might have considered taking you into our pack, giving you a place to live."

"You're capable, but you've burned your bridges. We don't need to offend the Blackwood Pack for your sake. After all, you're just an Omega!"

As they continued, waves of unrestrained laughter echoed through the banquet hall.

Those who had once held me in high regard were now kicking me when I was down.

This scene reminded me of what the old Alpha had told me when I first took over the Blackwood Pack.

He said that when things are going smoothly, you're surrounded by good people, but that might not be the case when you fall on hard times.

Looking at these opportunistic and hypocritical faces, I finally understood firsthand. But I wouldn't give them the satisfaction.

I no longer gave them a glance. I spoke in a deep voice: "I'm stating this now: no one here has the right to strip me of my Luna title!"

"You gold-digging Omega, how much longer are you going to cling on shamelessly!"

Seraphina gritted her teeth, finally unable to bear it, and roared at me.

"Kael has already abandoned you! You no longer belong to the Blackwood Pack. You don't deserve to stay!"

But I merely treated her outburst as a dog barking. Instead, I calmly took a glass of champagne, swirled it, and slowly savored it.

Perhaps my composure was too unsettling, as the guests' expressions became hesitant. They started to think I might actually have a hidden move.

In the vast hall, not a single person dared to throw me out.

Kael, however, didn't believe I could stir up any trouble. He glared at me repeatedly with annoyance, constantly glancing towards the entrance.

Suddenly, his eyes lit up: "Father, Mother, you're finally here!"
