Chapter 5
Weeks passed, and Sara had begun to adjust to her new environment. However, the peace and quietness she enjoyed as opposed to the torment she suffered in the Red moon pack didn't last long also.
Killian left the council hall, as he had lot's of things to attend to.
“How could he bring a woman of an unknown origin? And he claimed her to be his…Luna?” Jared screamed, while the rest of the elders murmured in agreement.
“What baffles me most is that she might actually be from an enemy pack.” Cerebrus said with a sigh.
Silence swept over the whole room as everyone shook their heads in utter disgust.
“I know what to do.” Jared said, his face became cold and stony, and his fists were tightly clenched.
He stood up from his seat and headed towards the ancestral cave, a cave which was rumored to hold various ancient artifacts.
“My Lord, what do you want here?” Jared's most trusted man, Arthur said to him.
“I need to take the diamond stone.” Jared replied, and Arthur's eyes opened wide.
“The diamond stone? What do you need it for? Don't you know how dangerous it is?” Arthur asked hurriedly, his face filled with worry and fear.
“I am not the one who needs it, I want to use it to test someone.” He said with a smirk, as he entered into the cave. He took out a torch and lit it.
“Who do you want to test?” Arthur asked again, which made Jared turn briskly to him.
“Why do you have so many questions? If I were to die from the diamond stone, I am afraid your questions would have killed me first.” He said with a smirk.
“By the way, is it not just to sacrifice some blood? I am fine with it.” He added, and they both continued their journey down the cave.
They got to a place that was filled with rocks, and there was not even a single opening for them to pass through.
“Take this,” Jared said to Arthur, handing over the torch to him.
He took out a knife and slashed his palm, he squeezed his palm tightly and dropped his blood on a red spot that was on the rock.
Suddenly, a loud noise erupted into the air which nearly sent Arthur flying away, but was caught by Jared.
“Only the blood of high ranking officials could unlock the cave’s opening.” Arthur thought within himself.
The entrance became visible, and a huge ray of light reflected almost immediately. Different golden, and diamond artifacts filled the whole area.
Jared walked inside and went straight to an area filled with some diamond stones.
“Here it is.” Jared said with a mischievous smile.
“If I may ask, my Lord. What do you need this for?” Arthur asked him, while Jared turned to him with a smirk on his face.
“That bitch that our Alpha claimed to be his Luna, I must know her identity.” Jared said with a mischievous smile.
“Wouldn't the Alpha be annoyed if he should learn about it?” Arthur asked with concern.
“What are you afraid of? I am a high ranking official, and there is nothing he can do to me. Besides, I am just doing my duty by watching out for him.” He said confidently.
He stretched out his hand to Arthur.
“Go. Do what you are supposed to do. Be very careful about it, do not raise her suspicion.” Jared said, while Arthur took the stone from him.
“Alright, my Lord.” Arthur replied.
“Just place the stone behind her, I will be watching via the cauldron of life. If the stone reflects blue, then she is from our blue moon pack, but if it reflects red, then she is from the enemy's pack.” Jared finalized, while Arthur nodded his head. He walked out of the cave, heading towards Sara's house.
Luckily for them, Killian was extremely busy and had no time to spare for Sara at the moment.
“Let's see how you will survive this, since there is no Killian to help you.” Jared said with a smirk.
He took a few steps and halted in front of a big black cauldron. He chanted some words and squeezed his blood into the cauldron. He made his wish known, and the cauldron lit up immediately, showing Sara, who was sitting comfortably in her room.
A knock on the door took Sara out of her thoughts.
She got up and opened the door slowly.
“Hi. I was instructed to send some groceries to you.” Arthur said with a smile on his face.
Sara was a bit relieved, she had pondered on how she could get her groceries since she has ran out of them.
“Oh! Thank you.” Sara said warmly with a smile. She collected the alleged groceries from the man, who, unknown to Sara stared at her mischievously.
As Sara turned to place the groceries down, Arthur gently stuck the stone to her back.
“I will get going now.” Arthur said with a smile, while Sara thanked him unsuspiciously.
It was just a few seconds that Arthur left did Sara start feeling uncomfortably hot. Pools of sweat streamed down her face, she felt as if all of her internal organs were on fire. No amount of water could quench the hotness that raged inside of her.
Jared laughed mischievously as she watched her suffer via the cauldron.
“Now it's time.” He said, as Sara let out a loud scream. She held her throat in agony as she fell to the floor. Her eyes became bloodshot red, and burned fiercely.
The stone on her back became more aggressive as it started spinning very fast, which made her dizzy and she nearly fainted.
It was now the most anticipated moment for Jared, the moment whereby Sara would give off the aura that could either save her life, or get her killed. The red or blue aura.
Whitish smoke started emanating from her body, she screamed louder in pain than before as the white smoke was about to change it's color. Jared could not hold his anticipation as he shook in eagerness.
One second to the changing of the color, the door suddenly flung open, a man, as fast as lightning ran to Sara and scraped off the stone from her back. Sara fell into the man's loving and warm hands, she could feel the aura of the man to be a familiar one. She stared weakly at the man, who radiated handsomely under the bright light.
“Killian,” she muttered softly as she fainted.
