Chapter 5

At the rise of dawn and panic, I'm breathing loudly.

Flashback:

I was handcuffed by the bed and been beaten violently everywhere even in my intimate parts, I mean who would do this to me, I was running to escape Jace because he wanted to take me to Australia by force and this where I was knocked out, wait...

And that's where it clicked off...

It was him who did it.

The last time he said this, I thought it was some kind of joke or whatever.

"HELLO IS ANYBODY HERE?" I yelled and tried to get out of this stupid cuff.

I wanted to cry and let everything out but I couldn't, my mind was nowhere and that where the first tear broke free, the rest followed in an unbroken stream. I bent forward and tilted my head to stop crying but I can't...tears are coming in and in.

Suddenly I heard heavy footsteps coming towards the door.

I stopped crying and sobbed quietly.

The door was slammed, someone came in barging, I couldn't see his face because of the darkness but I can see that he brought a whip.

"Babygirl...you disobeyed me now it's time for your punishment."

I tried to roll over but it only moved the bed, I sobbed furiously and tears rolling down my face

"No need to show your pity, Jenna, you still getting it." He growled.

End of the flashbacks:

Ugh, it kills me, why does have it to be me? Why did deserve this?

The police came in right the time and handcuffed Jake, they followed my phone location.

"Because you miserable you bitch." My conscience said.

"Ahhh, shut the fuck up!"

Anyway, I stand up from my bed and go to the bathroom, I put on my favourite music from blood and water by grandson.

30 minutes later.

Ahh it feels great to get out of this hot shower, I love this. I take my phone from the sink and saw a message from Leo on Instagram.

Message conversation:

Leo: hey, do you want me to pick you up?

Jenna: okay, when?

Leo: now if it's okay and don't forget to give your address

I go to my closet to find the right outfit then put on my same natural makeup. I go downstairs to see my brother sitting there alone with his bowl of Kellogg's.

"Hey..." He says moodily while scrubbing his eyes.

"Hey, you alright?" I ask him as I take an apple.

"Yah I'm fine, I'm just tired." He says he takes slow bites, it's like his movements is in slow motion.

"Don't worry you would be okay, anyway where are mom and dad?"

"They are sleeping it's their day off." He replies.

"Lucky them." I hear a honk, I go to the window and see a car, I guess it's Leo.

"My friend is here." I say, I take my bag and put it on my shoulder while I put on my shoes.

I turn toward my brother who is still eating in slow motion, I feel a little sympathy for him, "Bye brother."

"Bye." He replies and waves his hand, lazily.

I open the door and lock it on my way out, I open the passenger door to sit on it.

"Hey Jenna, are you okay?" He asks happily, I wonder what's wrong with him? Who can be so happy at this hour?

"Hey...why are you so hyped this morning?"

"I just received a message from my crush."

"No way, are you fucking kidding?" I ask, surprised and feel a little happiness for him.

"Yeah...oh, I forgot that it's a boy." He says shyly, I'm so happy for him, he even confides me that he is gay and that's the true token of a friend, I hope our relationship will never change.

"I'm so happy, congratulation!" I say to him, I hug him and he accepts it graciously.

"Let's go..." He says while turning on the car. I stop him, he looks at me weirdly.

"No wait, I think we should go to Starbucks, we have like 26 min left before we go to school and also I need a coffee."

"Okay, direction to Starbucks."

He happily drives to Starbucks, I'm thinking about telling him about Carter?

"Well yeah girl, he is your boy best friend." My stupid conscience says.

Yeah, I mean she's right, he just declares to me his orientation sexuality, so I guess that I can trust him, I mean he's not a bad person right?

After 10 min of drive, we arrive at Starbucks and I order cappuccino vanilla with foams. We go to sit in a table beside the beautiful view of New York.

"Leo listen...I need to talk to you." I say while biting my lips.

"Uhmm sure." He hums as he sips his latte caramel.

I get all fidgety, my fingers are shivering and I mumble quietly.

"I accidentally like Carter insta picture of him half-naked."

"Ohhh, I already knew that." He says bluntly.

"What?!" My eyes automatically widen in shock.

"Some girl was stalking his insta and I think she screened his half-naked greek body picture and posted on the official websites of our high school."

Ok, I'm dead already.

"Anyway, let's go, we have like 15 min to go to school." He warns and take his bag.

"Can we skip first period? So that I won't face the embarrassment."

"No we can't do that and I'm sure that it will go away after we get there, rumours tend to stay for a while and then it disappear like that." He says waving his arms.

"You right, let's go." I say feeling pretty enthusiastic.

16 min later,

"I knew this is not a good idea..." I say deadpanned.

"What are you talking about?" Leo says.

We are parking the car in the parking lot and I feel like I'm going to puke. Leo turns off his engine and glance at me.

"Are you getting out...?"

"I'm not feeling well." I fake a sad smile while putting my hand toward my belly.

"Yeah... right it doesn't work with me Jenna." He laughs and opens the door.

"A least I tried." I sigh with a fake smile, I'm nervous like super nervous.

We get out of the car and walk toward hell until I see the popular group which is Carter and his minions.

"Oh no...can we go behind the school, please?" I beg him.

"No way! I don't want to waste my energy, let's just keep walking this way."

What an evil friend.

I frown and pout to make it look like I'm angry, I look again to Carter and it seems like he's trying to find some one over the crowd and that where our eyes link together. His piercing blue eyes staring back to my boring brown eyes, it feels like we're the only one at this moment, no one, just us.

"Why Hades is looking at you?" Leo asks.

"And why are you calling him like that?" I send another question to ignore his previous one.

"Seriously Jenna...you don't get it, do you?" He says with desperation while shaking his head

"What are you talking about?" I snap.

"Carter...he's the nightmare in here and the popular one, so it describes perfectly like Hades." He explains it annoyingly.

Ohhh, I get it now, it makes sense. I mean it's true that Hades and Carter make the perfect match.

Anyway, the bell rang and we walk toward our school.

"What do you have now?" He says.

"I have p.e and you?"

"Ugh...sciences."

"Oh alright, we'll see ya."

"Yeah."

I'm skipping happily toward the gymnasium until someone grabs my arms and drag me toward the janitor closet.

I scream at who was dragging me but he quickly shut my mouth by his large hand on my mouth.

"Shh...you going to get us caught." A voice says with a husky and rough voice making me shiver.

He let out his hand from my mouth and I watch the intruder in the darkness and try to think who is it.

"Who the hell are you?" I ask frightened.

"Sweetheart...already forgot about me?" He says mischievously.

Oh god I know who belongs this voice
