Chapter 6
Aliyah's POV
The Car came to a halt just in front of the entrance, immediately attracting the attention of the reporters present at the venue
Their camera flashes were already going off, after all they wanted the pictures of the groom's Grandfather for front cover.
Carlos opened the door and helped me out if the car, leading me into the cathedral with his hand on the small of my back
"Miss Aliyah is it true that you dumped your fiancé for no reason a night before the wedding?"
"Why are you arriving the venue with his Grandfather?"
"Are we expecting any drama, afterall your fiancé suddenly showed up with your sister at the altar"
"Should there be speculation of a new relationship?"
The questions were relentless and the camera flashes were blinding, I could feel my heart threatening to explode.
Carlos light reassuring squeeze calmed me down as he led me inside. All eyes turned to us immediately but we simply made our way to the section meant for Mike's side of the family.
The Cathedral was decorated to my taste, none of the decorations I ordered for were changed down to the bouquet with my initials engraved on it.
Mike did not even care to make any adjustments for Sylvia. How could he?
He was a careless man afterall.
"Mr Mike do you take Miss Sylvia Hudson as your lawfully wedded.."
"I do" He said without even letting the priest finish, his eyes burned right through me
"I'm enjoying this" I leaned in to wipe an imaginary spec of dust off Carlos and kissed him lightly on the lips
His jaw clenched and whispers rose behind us but I could care less.
I was enjoying every bit of rage simmering from Mike and my sister's desperate attempts to keep his attention on her.
The pathetic wedding ended before I could even bask in their misery, Mike's nerves were all over the place while Sylvia was struggling so hard to keep up
At the Reception, Carlos introduced me to his business associates as his wife and his new partner in business.
I familiarised myself with every face and their level of importance to Carlos while occasionally stealing kisses from him whenever I saw Mike watching.
I could feel Sylvia cussing me in her mind over her inability to hold Mike's attention for even a second long with me there.
The introduction was finally over, Carlos excused himself to use the bathroom and I made my way to the wine fountain to get myself a glass.
I needed one so badly, I was thirsty from talking all night.
"What do you think you're doing Aliyah?, why are you all over my Grandfather like that?" Mike said in a strained voice "kissing him and acting like a one night bimbo"
I smiled dropping the glass of wine on the table slowly, just to waste enough time to piss him off
"Aliyah I'm talking to you" He grabbed my arm roughly but I smacked him off
I glared at him "Don't you dare put your hands on me like that. I'm married to your Grandfather so that makes me your Grandmother "
He laughed "You wish"
but his laugh died when Carlos snaked up behind me and kissed the nape of my neck
"Are you okay honey?"
I nodded then turned to Mike with a wide grin "I'm just congratulating our Grandson"
Mike's eyes widened in realisation and he looked at me like I had betrayed him
"How could you?, Why would you marry my Grandfather you bitch" He yelled gaining the attention of everyone
Carlos slapped him immediately "You'll not disrespect your Grandmother like that"
My Parents came over with Sylvia to manage the situation but it was already too late, people were whispering already
Sylvia tried to intertwine her arm with Mike's but he shoved her away
She laughed awkwardly "Mike, whoever Aliyah decides to marry is none of our business okay?"
"Shut your mouth you slut" He yelled at her "And don't you dare touch me"
Everyone gasped, too shocked that Mike would speak to his new bride like that but I was not surprised in anyway.
I had always known this side of Mike, the side he hid perfectly from the public.
He turned to me "it's not over yet Aliyah"
"Grandmother" I corrected with a wide grin while he left the hall furious
My Father, or should I say Mr Rhodes, glared at me– I wasn't his biological daughter after all but he held his tongue.
After all, He was still banking on Carlos' partnership with his firm
I excused myself to the bathroom while every other person tried to shake off the shocking event of the night.
"You just had to ruin my wedding day"
I heard Sylvia's broken sobs behind me as I washed my hands
"I did nothing to you Sylvia, stop acting like a victim"
Mrs Tanera Rhodes, her mother was by her side comforting her
"I can't believe after all the love we've shown you. You've chosen to reply our kindness like this"
I laughed, genuinely. Watching them act like the victims was more cinematic than I'd thought it would be
"Let your sister have this one man for once Aliyah. Stop interfering in their lives "
"I did absolutely nothing though. Mike just could not keep himself away from me, how is that my fault?" I folded my arms over my chest "Besides, I'm married now.... So?"
Mum scoffed "You think Carlos really wants you? When he dumps you after using you, just don't run back to Mike"
I shot her a questioning look before turning to her distraught daughter with a satisfied grin
"I'm just getting started sister. Happy Married Life by the way, i hope you enjoy every bit of it"
I let the threat and mockery hang in the way and watched them digest every bit of my word.
Today, she was crying over just mere attention by tomorrow I'll make her really miserable. My plans were already in order.
