A plan holiday
"Come on, Alina, come with us. This will be your only chance to see the outside world. Besides, we've got permission from Alpha Silvermoon Pack to take a few days off at the Loveland resort. Isn't that right, Justin?" Danielle elbowed her lover Justin's ribs pretty hard before returning to look at me with a grim look. Alina glanced at Justin, who grimaced while wiping the area that Danielle followed. She nodded and gave her an unmistakable smile full of coercion.
Alina sighed deeply and closed the novel she was reading before Danielle and Justin came to annoy her. Her eyes glanced at the phone to see the time before looking at Danielle and replied, "Why should I come? You can go alone. I don't want to be a hindrance."
Danielle joked at Alina's words. She drew Alina's face close to her while squinting her eyes, then stretched out one hand and gently rubbed Alina's cheeks. The move successfully made Alina pull away and look at her disgustedly.
One of her friends did not know the limits of privacy, which made Alina love her like her sister. "Oh, dear Alina, we deserve a vacation after facing the semester exam. We need refreshing. You know that, don't you?"
"I can refresh by reading my books," said Alina as she waved the novel into the air, emphasizing her words to Danielle.
Seeing that, Danielle shook her head disapprovingly and rose from the chair she was sitting in. Luckily, the café was quiet, and Danielle's loud voice wouldn't bother anyone.
Alina wondered why these two friends could find out where she hid in the café. She didn't even say where she would go to her mama.
So whether it's a coincidence or Danielle secretly attaches a tracking device to her shirt, Alina doesn't even know. If the second option is right, she won't be surprised because Danielle is so protective of her, more than both her parents.
"Anyway, what am I supposed to do there? Sit down and ponder while you two are busy making out. I'm sure you'll forget me immediately." Alina replied as flatly as possible. Both hands folded over each other's chests, and Danielle and Justin looked at each other alternately.
Justin scratched his calm head and muttered, "We won't forget you again like last year's holiday." Then, he grimaced as Danielle hit the back of his head, looking at Justin.
"Hey, why did you hit me? It was a viole—" Justin didn't finish his sentence when Danielle gave him a sharper look. Alina was accustomed to seeing the scenery before her.
At first, Alina was confused about why Justin chose Danielle, who sometimes likes spontaneity and speechlessness, out of the many women in the city. Still, she slowly realized he was in love and even fascinated with Danielle's character. Even the man always obeyed and considered Danielle's request his command.
Sometimes, Alina sees Justin staring at Danielle as if the woman is a Goddess sent only for him. So, if Alina heard Justin confess that he was a masochist, she wouldn't be surprised.
"This time, we won't invite that jerk," Danielle said while pointing at Justin with her thumb. "We'll just go alone. This holiday is free anyway. We don't have to pay a dime."
"That's because you drained my wallet for the holiday," Justin grumbled very slowly but successfully got him hit, this time on the shoulder by Danielle.
Danielle looked intently at her lover and gave a warning through the look in her eyes. It made Justin smile shy and say, "Have fun, Aline, you deserve it."
Indeed, Alina is very tempted by the holiday Danielle is offering now. Still, the Loveland resort is outside the Silvermoon Pack territory, more precisely, in the neutral zone. This means she has to leave the Silvermoon Pack zone and will not receive protection from the pack.
Alina also had to pass through the Silvermoon Pack to get to the place. Since the world was overrun by the supernatural, she hasn't even set foot in the area, which means she has to meet with supernatural beings and broke the promise she made to her mother never to meet or make eye contact with a supernatural being not to mention the possibility of encountering vampires, while in the neutral zone, the possibility is very high.
Would Alina be willing to exchange peace and break her promise to her mother for a holiday? "Danielle, you know that I promised my mom not to leave the city," she said, trying to remind her that the vacation felt impossible.
They have been vacationing only in the city area or Justin's villa between the city's border and Silvermoon Pack. It's always within the territory because it wants to avoid meeting a supernatural being or, worse, a Vampire.
Alina herself had thought of quitting her hope of being in college because the university building available in the city was located on the city's border with the Silvermoon Pack, but due to the encouragement of her parents, who wanted to see her achieve her dream of being a pastry chef and setting up her pastry shop, she was able to do so. Finally, she ventured to continue her studies and put it all aside.
Luckily, Danielle chose to go to college just like she did. If Alina wants to be a chef, then Danielle wants to be a dermatologist, following in her sister's footsteps, who has already become a dermatologist in this city. Because of that decision, they both met Justin.
Their meeting with the man was embarrassing because, at that time, Danielle chose to show her careless nature to the world. Still, at least because of that, now Danielle has a man like Justin by her side. "So I can't. Why do we have to go to that resort? There are plenty of good vacation spots here."
Danielle shakes her head in disapproval. "No, I'm not. We've visited every available place in this city. Besides, aren't you curious about what the outside world is like?" Danielle's question certainly tickles Alina's heart.
However, she was curious about the world's situation. She wanted to see it firsthand because she could only see it on the television screen all this time. But is it worth it? What if something unexpected happens, and she's not ready to face it? Alina's thinking has sometimes made her feel agitated.
Danielle glanced at Justin briefly before looking back at Alina and continued, "And if you want to know, Auntie Emy, your Mom has already permitted the holiday."
Then Danielle again sat herself in the chair with a satisfied and triumphant expression. She thought Alina could no longer argue or reject her offer if Danielle said that her mother had forbidden her to leave the city border, giving her permission.
"Huh? How do you know? Mama didn't say anything to me."
Danielle gave Alina a big moan. "Thank me and my annoying lover," Danielle said while embracing Justin, who was showing a sullen face.
"Justin, why don't you come along?"
In an upset voice, Justin replied, "I have a critical business to attend to, and I can't leave it."
"Is that so?"
Danielle linked her hands in front of her face and looked at Alina pleasantly. "Come on, Alina, please..."
A sigh of relief slid from Alina's lips. Then she asked for a few minutes to call her mother and confirm Danielle's words. And when it was over, she was surprised because the woman who had been against herself was doing activities outside the city area, without hesitation saying 'yes' and letting her go. Is there a hidden reason behind the answer?
"Why don't you refuse?" muttered Alina more to yourself.
"That's because we're not going alone. Alpha's giving us full assurance of our safety during the holidays."
"Why would an Alpha bother to do that? We're not important people."
"Err..." Danielle scratched her head, looking for answers, and saw the sign; Alina immediately rolled her eyes suspiciously. "Because..."
"What?" Alina was still trying to pressure her best friend.
"My father now works as his team of lawyers." Alina cast a shocked eye.
"Are you sure that's the only reason?" murmured Alina, still with a suspicious expression.
And whether this is true or just her feelings, Alina feels Danielle is hiding something from her. It's visible from her movements. Alina knew Danielle very well. They grew up together and attended the same school, so Alina knew Danielle and herself.
"I'll catch up with you anyway," Justin chirped suddenly. "You know, as an extra bodyguard."
"You're human; how can you beat them?" he asked, full of investigations.
Justin's breathing down his neck. "With my fist?" Even Justin's answer sounded unconvincing.
His answer was more like a question than a statement, and he also seemed doubtful. "Never mind, never mind. This is your only chance."
"Yes, Aline! Justin's right. Come on... Please..."
I don't know what his best friend and girlfriend are up to, but in the end, Alina can only give up and say, "All right."
