Chapter 3
Damian takes off his gloves and throws the old ones in the bin. He replaced it with a new one.
“Don’t you think that will scare the other customers there?” Victor crosses his arms on his chest.
“I don’t care. It’s not like I have business with them,” he pulls the new gloves on his hands.
Matthew chuckles, “That is why people call you tyrant. You always did something in public.”
“What can I do? They lead me to the public. I have no choice,” Damian rolls his eyes.
“Do you think he can pay you back?” Victor questioned, leaning on the car.
“I know he can’t but do I look like I care? I want my money back and he has to pay me back. It doesn’t matter how he did it,”
Damian said with no space for bickering. His friends exchange looks and chuckles. Suit with his nickname, tyrant man. Once he said you have to do that, you HAVE to do that. No protesting.
“Yeah, no need to be grumpy. Let’s go to eat?” Matthew grins, trying to light up the mood.
“You pay? Oh my gosh! Thank you so much, bud!!” Victor pats his shoulder.
Matthew looks at him with stunned, “Since when I said I—”
“Um, hello gentlemen!”
They halt. A soft voice makes them turn to the owner of that voice. Their gazes met with a small figure standing in front of them.
“Hello! My name is Melody!” she waves eagerly.
“Uh...hey?” Matthew arches his eyebrows. Who’s kid is this?
“I’m a scout. I have to sell this doughnut and reach my target sales,” Melody opened the box filled with doughnuts.
Matthew's jaw dropped to see colourful doughnuts in the box. Victor stands beside his friend looking interested also. Somehow, Damian just standing behind them, looking at the girl with a deadpan.
His gazes on her from head to toe. Light blonde hair, green doe eyes, small and short figure, flush cheeks and pinkish lips. Not to mention her white pale skin.
“Oh! We want!” Matthew claps his hands in excitement. His friend just rolls his eyes. “Also, how much?”
“1 dollar each, sir,” Melody smiles sweetly.
“Dam, want one?” Matthew offers.
“Hard pass,” Damian looks away as he simply answers.
“You lost then,” he shrugs his shoulder.
Melody takes the money from both of them and steps forward to let them pick the flavour. She keeps glancing at their appearance. Matthew and Victor are close enough to her to take a closer look at the various types of doughnuts.
“Mmm, so sweet!” Matthew squeals.
Victor just shakes his head and eats peacefully, “You are not wrong.”
Melody looks at Damian and moves toward him, “Sir, you want one?” she gives a sweet smile at him.
That innocent smile.
Damian arches his eyebrows feeling suspicious of her. He just looks down on her since his body towers over her.
“How old are you, kid?” he questioned, all of a sudden.
“Um...12, sir,” she answers.
“12 huh...” Damian bends to her height. Somehow, Melody gulps a bit. “You said you are a scouts?”
“Yes, sir,”
“Interesting. Where is your scout's uniform then?” he asks, looking at her clothes which are only a hoodie and skirt.
Melody’s breath hitched. She should have thought about that before starting this plan. She managed to maintain her expression and act normal like nothing suspicious. Matthew and Victor just realised that.
“Yeah, where is your scouts uniform? Didn’t every scout's kid need to use their uniform?” Victor frowns.
“And also that badge thing...” Matthew added.
She chuckles, “My uniform is wet. My badge is being held for a moment since my leader needs to fix it.”
“Fix?” Damian questioned.
“Yes, sir. So, doughnuts?” she moves forward towards him making Damian stumble backwards.
He slightly frowns, “No thanks.”
“Please, please, please!” Melody pouts, moving towards him. She taking his personal space. “I promise I will leave once you buy one.”
“I said no means no. Now, leav,e ki,d before I make you cry,” he glares at her.
Melody puffs her cheeks and huffs. She moves away from him, “Geez, so grumpy.”
“Leave,”
Melody turns away from him, “If you say so. Thank you, gentlemen, for buying my doughnuts!!” she ran off while waving.
“You welcome!” Matthew grins. He sighs, “Such a sweet little girl, aren’t she?”
Victor looks at him, “You are so weak for a kid.”
“Of course! It is my dream! I can’t wait to have a woman that I love and my kid,” he smiles, thinking of that scene.
Damian rolls his eyes and opens the car door, “Stop with your dreams and let’s get going—” he halts as he can’t find his phone in his pocket.
“What’s wrong?” Victor notices his action.
Damian keeps tapping his pocket, “What the...”
“What are searching for, bud?” Matthew puts his arms on the car roof.
Damian kept tapping his pocket but nothing. He knows he put his phone in his pocket but how can it be empty? He has no more pockets instead of on his pants.
“My phone...”
“Your phone? I’m sure I saw you put it in your pockets,” Victor speaks.
“But there’s none...” he frowns.
Matthew grunts, “You should check it carefully! Like this,” he taps his own pants pocket.
That’s when he noticed something, “Hold on. What the fuck?”
“What is it now, Mat?” Victor getting annoyed.
“My wallet! It’s gone!!” Matthew freaks out.
Victor furrows his eyebrows, “You must put it somewhere or drop it. Calm your shit down.”
“I didn’t! The last time I took out my wallet was a minute ago to buy the doughnuts from that sweet girl named Melody,” he explains.
Something clicked in Damian’s head. He looks at Victor, “Victor, check your pocket.”
He looked at him in confusion but did it anyway. When he checks his pants pocket, it is empty. His pants pocket is empty where there’s supposed to be his wallet.
“My wallet!?”
“Like I thought. That girl is pick-pocket,” Damian chuckles.
“That girl? You mean...that Melody girl?” Matthew asks. He nods. “No! I take back my words! She’s not a sweet little girl!”
“I don’t think she’s a little girl,” he speaks up.
“She just said she is 12 years old,” Matthew frowns.
“I can feel that she’s older than that. Also, I don’t think she’s a scout girl. All that doughnut stuff is just an act. No wonder she keeps moving closer to us,” Damian smirks.
Matthew whimpering and slowly lets his back slide on the car. How can they get pranked by a girl? It is such an embarrassing moment and also proves that they are stupid.
“I can’t believe I got played by a girl...” he mumbles.
“Why do you look fine with it?” Victor arches his eyebrows at Damian.
His lips curved into smirks, “I'm just amazed by her skills. I don’t even realise she pick-pocketed me.”
“Is this the time to be proud of her little stunt!?” Matthew exclaims. He grabs Damian collars, “My wallet! My wallet! How do I want to buy my food!? I’m hungry!!”
Damian pushed him away, fixing his collar, “Stop being a whiny baby.”
“Now what?” Victor huffs.
“Don’t worry. She might be good at this stealing stuff but not smart enough to know that my phone got a tracker,”
