Moon Goddess
After embarrassing myself in front of the moon goddess by crying like a girl for who knows how long, we all seat down on a bench made entirely from vines and flowers. Alexis, who was basically lying on the bench, decided that no one else was welcomed to seat with her, forcing the moon goddess and I to seat on the other side. I make sure to give her an earful about her actions but she only huffs at me while rolling her eyes. The moon goddess chuckles at our banter and plucks a pink flower with actual gold designs on the petal. “My child, you have been treated unjustly, inhumane and abused by the people called your family. I never intended for you to suffer so much at the hands of that pack, they were only supposed to make you stronger because you are a key that will be used in the future. You are stronger than you believe but right now your true potential is dormant and will only awaken when absolutely necessary, which is why I can’t allow you to die. I am sorry for everything my child; your mother is terribly sorry. Take this flower, it will help you with everything and anything as well as summoning me when necessary”, says the moon goddess as she places the pink flower in my hand. She kisses my cheek and smiles before a flash of lightning comes out of nowhere and strikes me, rendering me unconscious. I wake up to find myself on the rocks surrounding the waterfall, completely dry and all the wounds I inflicted were gone like they were never there to begin with. The hand which the moon goddess placed the pink and gold flower, my right hand, now had pink and gold flowers inked all over, like I dipped my hand into a can of paint with pink and gold as well as flower patterns. I slowly get up and stretch out all the tension and stiffness from my body from lying on rocks for however long I was there. I walk towards the water and stare at my reflection, I gasp at the fact that my blond hair now had tints and streaks of pink and gold as well as my eyes were now mismatched, one blue and the other green. I also have a flower crown made from the pink and gold flowers along with pure gold flowers and leaves. Although the leaves and some of the flowers were gold, they were soft to the touch and the crown almost look like it’s a part of my hair with how it blends with it. I try to pry it off but it refuses to come off, realization dawns on me that in fact it was now a part of my hair forever. I smile at my reflection because honestly, I look like the moon goddess, beautiful and unique. Alexis howls in agreement and happiness from the fact that this was the first time I ever called myself beautiful. I also realize that my hair which was below my butt was now reaching my ankles. Feeling better about myself, I decide to go back to the pack house and maybe for once a good rest without pain and abuse. I make my way to the pack house whistling and skipping along the way, with bunnies following me out of concern for my sudden shift in mood. In that moment I really did not care about anything because for once, I felt beautiful, looked beautiful and ultimately, I am beautiful and nothing was going to spoil the rest of my day or so I thought at that time.
