Chapter 7
The following day went by quickly and before I knew it, it was lunch.
I walked into the cafeteria and looked around for a table to sit down at.
Sam and a couple friends sat at a round table in the middle of the room and I decided to honor them with my presence.
Sam looked up when I got closer and waved, gesturing for me to sit down on the empty seat next to him.
"Hóla fucktards" I greeted them as I pulled out the chair and sat down.
"Hi Aar" Sam responded, smoothly bumping my fist. I mumbled a quiet "boom" and then
looked down at the food with a grimace and wrinkled my nose, that looked disgusting.
It honestly looked like a pile of shit, I don't know what it was suppose to picture but oh well.
I hesitantly took a small spoon of the "food" and slowly lifted it up, sniffing on it.
It smelled like it looked.
"What is this even?" I asked, grossed out.
A sea of "idk's" were heard and I rolled my eyes.
Thank you for the help.
I appreciate it deeply.
I stuck my tongue out and poked the "food" with my tongue.
I then quickly retreated it to my mouth and tried to see what it tasted like.
"Hmm..."
My eyes then widened out of realization and I started to gag.
"Oh my fucking God" I coughed out, desperately reaching for my drink and gulping it down.
"Jesus Christ" I dried my mouth off and helplessly looked up at Sam.
"That was awful" I cried out and he laughed.
"No shit"
I looked over at his plate and his food looked seemingly untouched as well.
I pushed the repulsing food away and shook my head in disbelief.
School food should be classified as poisonous.
"You don't happen to have any gums on you?" I sweetly asked, fluttering my eyelashes.
He chuckled and took up a package of gum, I grabbed one and popped it into my mouth, happily chewing on it.
A loud crash caught my attention and I span around in my chair to find the source of the noise.
It took me a second to locate my poor English partner.
One of the jocks, a buff guy had pushed him over and Benji had dropped his plate on the floor, thereof the crash.
"Not again" Sam muttered and I furrowed my brow.
"Stay away from her, you're not even close to her level" The jock, whose name I couldn't remember, told him.
I reasoned that he was referring to me and I rolled my eyes.
And he was...?
Please, I'm offended.
I stood up from the table and I felt people turn their attentions to me.
I confidently walked over to the scene and I saw Benji looking up at me with a questioning look. He was still sat on the ground.
I felt a sudden wave of anger flood through me and I walked over to the jock and punched him in the face.
No pathetic slaps here, no.
He took a step back from the impact and groaned as he held his hands over his nose.
"Care to elaborate?" I innocently asked him, smiling devilishly.
"I-I'm sorry" He stuttered out and I cocked an eyebrow in his direction.
"Oh, but don't you think the person you should apologize to, is my dear, dear friend Benjamin over here?"
Benjamin was now standing up and brushed off some first from his pants.
The cafeteria was silent, they were all concentrated on what was happening.
"Uhm..." The jock started and I raised my brow.
"Sorry" He finally muttered and I smugly crossed my arms.
I shot Benjamin a wink and he blushed.
"You're absolutely mental!" A girl from the table the Jock was sat at yelled after me, her eyes were filled with disbelief.
"True dat" I replied, cockily blowing a bubble out of my gum and popping it.
"Are you his girlfriend?" I then asked after a moment of silence and she blushed and shook her head.
I then grinned as the realization downed on me.
"But you're in love with Mr. Jock over here" I chuckled coldly and her eyes went wide.
The jock whose name I still can't remember, looked over at the girl in shock.
"Why the fuck would you defend the boy you're crushing on when he's bullying another guy for being with a girl the guy you're crushing on is crushing on?"
That was an confusing sentence.
Everyone looked to be in thought, probably trying to figure out what I just said.
"What...?" She asked after awhile and I shrugged.
"You'll figure it out" I assured her. I then turned around and started to walk back to Sam's table.
I then stopped and span around again.
"Oh Vector, you should probably get some ice on that" I said once I remembered his name and he looked stunned. His nose was slowly getting swollen and turning blue, I hope I broke it.
I then sat down at my table and sighed when the cafeteria stayed silent.
"Don't you have anything better to do?" I asked loudly and people quickly averted their gazes and started to talk to the people around their tables.
"Good job, Aar" Sam complimented me, raising his hand for an high five. I enthusiastically slammed it and the others mumbled in agreement.
---
I was sent to the principal for the cafeteria incident, but got away without any punishment as usual. I actually got a 'good job for standing up for Mr. Josephson' instead.
Vector apparently got a few detentions and I couldn't help but feel a little bit spiteful.
I had the math test too and even though I had been pretty nervous, I actually think I did a good job, I just tried to remember what Benjamin had told me.
I was currently on my way to the library and was confused when I couldn't find Benji on his usual place. I had been excited to tell him that I aced the math test.
I decided to sit down anyways and started to work on the presentation.
10 minutes later I heard someone run up the stairs and I soon saw Benjamin's familiar frame.
He was soaked in water and I furrowed my brow, the sky had been blue when I walked here.
"What happened to you?" I asked him when he sat down on the couch.
"And what happened to your glasses?" I realized now that they were missing.
When he didn't answer me I realized that something was wrong.
"Benjamin" I tried again, my voice now slightly raised.
I heard him sigh, he wasn't looking me in the eyes.
"Vector's friends attacked me with water balloons and beat me down" He finally explained and I gasped.
"THEY DID WHAT?" I yelled and I heard someone shush me from another part of the library.
"They did what?" I tried again, now quiet.
"You should tell the principal about this" I added and he shook his head.
"Don't. Do not to that" His voice was stern and cold.
"But-" I stubbornly started.
"You've already gotten me in enough trouble" He finally croaked out, his voice was raspy and he harshly bit down on his lip.
Oh no he didn't.
"I defended you! What the fuck are you talking about?" I asked him furiously.
"Before all of this, no one knew about me and no one took notice of me! Now people are pushing me, beating me down, attacking me and talking shit about me. And this is all your fault" I could see that he was getting pissed as well.
"You know what? FUCK YOU. If you had the balls to stand up for yourself, this wouldn't have happened in the first place, I just tried to do the right thing so EXCUSE ME if you can't take a little bit of attention. I've been so nice to you, so nice. I'm usually an annoying piece of shit to everyone, but I was nice to you. So if you don't appreciate that, you can go fuck yourself and do your part by yourself, I'm not taking your crap anymore" I stood up from the couch and grabbed my bag, giving him a last glare before I walked down the stairs, leaving him to fucking cry or something.
I got into my car and slammed the door shut.
