Talon's Perspective

I was at a pack meeting when my wolf felt restless.

“What’s it?” I asked after it had been fidgeting for quite a few minutes.

“Mate! Our mate! They’re in danger!!” After finally figuring out what was going on, my wolf took control and stormed out of the meeting room.

By “mate”, my wolf meant the girl we ran into the other day at the bar.

[Flashback]

Sitting in a dark corner at the bar, I was working on the next attack plan when this tall girl with perfect curve showed up and ordered a couple of strong drinks. Looked like she’d just had a breakup.

After draining the glass in one gulp, the girl reached out for a second.

Driven by an inexplicable force, I moved towards her.

"Hey, I know it tastes good, but if this is your first time drinking it, I suggest you put it down now."

Unprepared for my sudden greeting, the girl looked up in surprise. At that exact moment, our eyes locked!

“Mate! She’s mate!!” My wolf growled excitedly. We had been looking for our mate for like a century, but never found one.

Most werewolves would get weak if they couldn’t find their fated mate and refused to have a chosen one.

For me, to avenge my father’s death and become the strongest werewolf in the region, I had to find my fated mate as soon as possible.

“But why is mate so cold to us?” As my wolf got excited about finding its mate, it seemed got no response from the wolf of the girl, which soon pained it.

I ignored my wolf and reached out to take the hand of the girl. It wasn’t until this moment that I realized this girl was wolfless!

She was a human! Legend had it that the love between werewolf and human was never blessed. But I decided not to let that get in my way.

“We’ll mark her our mate.” I calmed my wolf down, “She’ll know us soon.”

As the strong drink was taking effect on the girl, I took her out of the bar.

On our way to the hotel, I held her tight in my arms, swearing to protect my fate sound and safe all this life.

In the hotel room.

“Look at me.” I fixed my gaze on this sweet girl in her naked glory when she tried to close her legs, stopping me from enjoying her sweetness.

Looking at her delicate facial features, I dipped one more kiss on her forehead before leaving.

"Mate! Mate!!" My wolf’s excited growling kept ringing in my head on my way back to my pack. I knew it was unwilling to part from its mate that it had been waiting for long.

For the first time in my life, I felt grateful for the Moon Goddess. For getting me such a perfect mate. If there was one flaw in this arrangement, it should be my mate being a human.

But this was way better than I wouldn’t meet my fated mate at all, because I couldn’t be more sure that my human mate would recognize me as her fated mate one day.

It was just I couldn’t rush it. And I had this strong feeling that we’d meet soon next time.
