Chapter 1

•••THE MEETING•••

Bradley's eyes were fixed on his phone even as he stepped out of the car totally ignoring the papparazi and the media that flocked around him, his bodyguards made sure no one touched him.

He made his way into the building, the doors opening automatically, the workers bowed as they offered greetings which he replied to none.

He walked away into the elevator with two of his guards going in with him.

The door was almost shut when a hand stopped it, a lady rushed in panting. The guards charged towards her, no one dares come in with the boss.

"Sorry..sorry sir" she apologised to the guards and Bradley looked up.. his eyes fixed on the black haired slender and medium heighted lady, with round big eyes, pointed nose and full red lips.

He raised a brow and looked at the guards who stepped back immediately.

She was breathing hard, obvious she had been running.. who's she though?

Iris rubbed her hair sootheningly, praying inwardly she gets the job.

She was oblivious of the man who exhibited an aura of power. She sighed, she'd run late after making sure Savannah was prepared for school.. she would had left her in the care of Megan only if she didn't travel.

Savannah was one cute and smart kid, lovelier than her peers. Though she was just 3, she understood everything and everyone around her.

Her only family was her mum and her Aunty Megan.. she knows noone aside them.

"..Miss, the boss is speaking to you" one of the guards said jolting her out of her reverie.

Boss? the name rang an alarm in her head, she turned and found a man peering at her with narrowed eyes.

She swallowed the lump forming in her throat, immediately feeling intimidated from the aura emaniating from him.

"What are you doing here?" he asked coldly, his voice sending shivers down her spine.

"I..i'm Iris Ollie, i'm here for the interview.." she stuttered and Bradley squinted his brows.

"Interview? Are you qualified to be my secretary?" he asked and she rubbed her palms together, her eyes pinned to the floor.

"He's speaking to you!" a guard said and grabbed her arm tightly.

"Aaargh!" she winced and Bradley felt his heart skipped a beat.. why does that sound familiar? it made him remember the lady 3 years ago who was fidgeting under him that day, her sobs and moans was what filled the entire room.

He stared at her closely and glared at the guard who dropped her arm and stepped back.

Iris bit her bottom lips to stop the tears from falling, her big eyes looked really adorable filled with tears.

The elevator dinged and Bradley glanced at her before moving out with his guards.. she remained inside until it closed.. taking her back to the first floor.

She was going back home and look for another job, she hadn't even been given the job but she was already hurt.

She stared at the red mark on her arm and her lips quivered. She sniffed and wiped her eyes, she hates being this emotional always a crybaby..

Straightening up, the elevator dinged and she walked out.. all eyes turning to her.

"And where are you going?" a familiar voice oozed from the intercoms connected at the hall, everyone stopped what they were doing but Iris didn't, infact she wasn't listening.

"Iris Ollie!

•••Eastfield Airport, Texas•••

Megan smiled as she sniffed in Texas air, she'd really missed home.

She had been in Miami for a week now and damn! there was nothing like home.

She dragged her luggage behind her as she tried waving down a cab.

Her phone rang, she dipped her hand into her handbag and brought out her phone, on seeing the caller.. she hissed.

What do they want from her now?...

•••Shiny Glamour•••

Iris slowly turned around, her legs disappointing her..

She could feel the hard glare most of the female staff were giving to her.

She looked around and saw no one.. he wasn't here, then how did he know she's going out?

Then it clicked..

There's a camera installed here and she's very sure every office had a camera..

Wow...

"Get your ass back here!" he thundered and the intercoms went silent.

Iris swallowed nothing and entwined her fingers to keep her nervousness at check.. she approached the elevator once again.

Everyone murmured and whispered, some ladies hated her already.. the fact that their boss addressed her by her ass.. was what blowed their minds.

She had not even been given a job but the boss.. why would he call her back when there are almost 50 candidates waiting to be interviewed?

...

Iris stood at the long hallway with different offices, how would she know his?

She bit her lips slowly and walked passed the doors checking for an indication or something.

Then she finally saw it..

'OFFICE OF THE CEO' she knocked gently and waited for a response which she got none.

She knocked again and someone snapped from inside in a deep, hoarse voice..'come in'.

She pushed the door and walked in, her eyes fixed on the floor.

She could smell wealth just by fixing her eyes on the tiles.. just how rich is he?

"Are you gonna keep staring at the tiles or come sit?" he asked in his deep baritone voice, startling Iris.

She quickly raised her face and rushed to a seat, opposite him.

His eyes solely fixed on her face..

"Credentials?" he said more like a question than a demand.

She flashed him a brief smile and quickly opened her bag retrieving a folder.

She brought out a sheet of paper and passed it to him..

He collected it and examined it for a while before furrowing his brows...

She stared at him wide eyed, expectantly...

"Next..." he said and Iris looked on blankly.

He raised a brow when she looked at him blankly..

"Don't you have a degree?" he asked and she shook her head.

"I don't" she muttered and he smirked.

Who goes looking for a job with a highschool certificate? funny...

"You don't.." he hiked his brow.

Iris clasped her hands together..
