CHAPTER 2

A few minutes later she saw Cathy coming towards her,they always sit at the window when she reached Reina got up and greeted her with a hug.

"You look stunning."Reina told her.She was wearing a tight blue dress that fitted her perfectly with black stilettos and a small purse.Her hair was made up ontop of her head with a few strands hanging loose.When both of them were seated Reina gave her an inquiring look.

"Going somewhere?"

"Yes."Cathy responded."Me and Logan are going to one of his business dinners."

Logan is Cathy's boyfriend six months ago they had almost broken up because Cathy had turned down his idea of them getting married.And it had happen the day before Reina had went for her interview both of them had met up afterwards and Cathy had told her the whole story.Luckily both of them had talked and sorted out things and now they were okay.

"Sounds fun."Reina teased.

"I wish it would be.One day when you'll attend one you're gonna understand how boring and dull it is."

"Then why are you going?"

"Logan asked me to and I didn't want to say no especially after our last encounter besides he's my man and I love him so if he needs my support I'm gonna stand by him and give it."

Reina knew how much her friend loves Logan and she also knows Cathy would die without him too both of them love each other dearly and she hopes that one day Cathy would eventually agree to marry him.

"For my own curiosity why didn't you agree to marry him."

"I'm not ready yet marriage is a huge thing a big commitment where you make promises and give yourself to that one person for life,don't get me wrong though I will marry him but I just don't want us to make decisions we gonna regret later on and end up divorcing like most people now a days."

Reina understands her point and gets where she's coming from even she herself when she gets married one day wants it to be for life and who ever she's gonna marry would be the man she's gonna love and who would love her in return.No one wants to get married on compulsion or convenience or because they are being forced or made to do so.Marriage is for ever and both parties should be committed and sure they wanna do it.

"You're totally right.Now can we order I'm starving."

"Yeah,yeah we can.I've never understood how much you can enjoy food and still maintain that gorgeous figure of yours do you know how many girls would kill for that body of yours."

"No I don't know...And besides I'm way too skinny just look at me."

"Nonsense you have a beautiful body and those few pounds that you've lost a few months ago,you've gained it back you're glowing and looking amazing."Cathy said.

"Is that so.I guess that's why guys are lining up to take me out and sweep me of my feet."Reina joked.

"The right one for you hasn't arrived yet.He's out there and I have a feeling you'll be meeting him soon."

"Or I'll grow old alone."She said laughing.Cathy stared at her friend and also started laughing seconds later when they had laughed it off they ordered food.Reina had decided on the fusion tostada it was cripsy rice topped with bulgogi plus komex slaw and pico de gallo drizzled with korean hot sauce.Cathy chose fusion tater tots it was beef bulgogi bacon and pork belly which Cathy said she didn't want plus mixed cheeses,topped with sour cream tomatoes and green onions.When the waiter asked them what they were gonna drink both of them chose the same thing.Brewed mango passionfruit unsweetened ice tea.Two minutes after the waiter had left their drinks arrived as soon as they were alone Cathy asked Reina what she has in the bag that's hanging over the empty chair next to her."It's a dress my boss lend me for the fashion show that's being held at work."

"Lucky fish I would give anything to trade places with you it's not everyday one gets to attend a fashion show."

"Then let's trade I'm just not in the mood to go and besides there'll be a lot of rich snobs especially women who thinks they are better than everyone and to top it off I won't know anyone that's why I was hoping you would come with me but you already have plans."

"I know how it can be being the odd one out but don't let anyone get you down you're a seamstress they might be rich and well known but they are not better then you,because you make and design what they are wearing so stop over thinking this and just go if things get a little too much for you,you can leave."

Cathy was right she can go and not stay long what matters was she was there.

"You're right I don't have anything to lose by going."She said.At that moment their food arrived.Half way through the meal Cathy spoke.

"Who knows this might be the night you're gonna meet Mr right that is if you're not gonna be uptight towards who ever is gonna be making a move on you."

"Then it's a good thing I'm going there for work reasons only."Reina said.

"You're impossible."Cathy told her."All work and no play I'm really starting to believe that you're gonna grow old alone."

"Wouldn't be such a bad thing though look at what my dad did to my mom after all the years that she has given him what did he give her in return a big debt that's gonna take us forever to pay off.So at this point being alone isn't such a bad idea men are scumbags who only deceive and lie."

She took Reina's hand in her own and held it tight."You need to let go of all that anger inside of you sweetie and forgive your dad.Yes he might not have been the world's best dad or husband and he might have not treated you guys fairly but he was still your father you need to forgive him in order to move on not for him but for yourself so that you can have peace. One thing I can promise you is all men are not the same stop being so afraid and start living for you and not someone else."

"Thank you.I couldn't have asked for a better friend it means alot that you're in my life I appreciate it."Reina squeezed her hand.

"If the roles were reversed you'd do the same for me so don't mention it,now let's finish up so that I can come and help you with your make up."

"And who says I need make up."Reina asked.

"You don't have to ask it's normal protocol for a girl to puff herself up for an event and tonight I'm gonna make you look gorgeous."

Three hours later she was standing infront of the mirror and couldn't believe that it was her looking so beautiful she hardly recognizes herself.The dress Alissa had borrowed her was absolutely beautiful it was a floor length black vintage sleeveless dress the silhouette design was mermaid it had sequins beading and also a v-neck with a long high side split.It had a small back zipper as well it sat perfectly on her hugging her waistline and also enhancing it.On their way over to Reina's house they had passed by Cathy's and took her silver peep toe high heels for her to wear with the dress and she has to say it goes along perfectly.Her long black hair has been washed and dried and now it's hanging loose around one side of her face.She had refused when Cathy had wanted to put on make up she prefers herself just the way she was but Cathy had applied a little bit of blush eyeliner mascara and cherry red lipstick.On her ears she wore her pair of brand new streaming diamond earrings that had cost her an arm and a leg and which she's still paying it off.She had loved the way it had flowed freely and elegantly from her earlobes that's how she knew she just had to have them.

"Forget the fashion show girl all eyes will be on you tonight you're looking beyond the word beautiful."To be honest she felt beautiful it's not everyday she gets to dress herself up like this and go out."I want you to promise me that you will try to enjoy yourself tonight and if a handsome good looking hunk wants to get to know you and be with you don't say no.Just think about me and say yes."

She smiled at Cathy and said."I doubt there'll be dancing or good looking hunks there.Cath it's a fashion show."

"What difference does it make you just have fun and I'm sure after the show you guys are gonna have to go and eat.There will be a buffet."

"You're sound sure of yourself but I promise I'll enjoy myself and yes I know you're gonna expect a full report tomorrow."

Cathy just laughed at her."But of course I want one,how you managed to stay a virgin for this long still surprises me you're twenty four Reina and please don't give me that nonsense about waiting for marriage at this point you'll wait forever.
