Chapter 5

I was so excited, I will be leaving tomorrow to Mr Edward's house. Jane has been so nice to me, after I was discharged from the hospital she took me to her house.

I stayed with her for two weeks, and those two weeks has been the best weeks in my life. I get to eat anything I wanted to eat, I don't have to do any work since Jane said she has workers.

I tried convincing her to let me help in the ways I can but she refused. I never knew I have been exhausting my body until now. I wake up every morning feeling so weak, but Jane was there to assist me.

She told me the foods to eat, and those to avoid. She made me eat anything that will help me regain my strength within the two weeks and now am actually kicking.

She took me shopping and bought lots of expensive clothes for me which I was not in support of. She would have just gotten thrift wears for me I don't mind but she wouldn't listen so I just let her do her thing.

I went from having a two dirty worn out clothes and a pair of shoe to owning a two box filled with the latest clothes and another one box filled with my shoes, the others came with accessories like bags, jewelries, bracelets.

I know what you are thinking, am also thinking the same, this is all too much. I actually told Jane to not buy any jewelries, am not a very big fan of those but she always says...

"I need to make sure you meets the bosses taste" that's what she told me.

I went to sleep that night all excited, my dreams were filled with me being paid a million dollars, my life will never be the same. But wait, how many years or months do I have to work. Is probably in the book Mr Edward told me to sign, tomorrow I will ask him of it.

The next morning, a driver came to pick me up and I said my goodbyes to Jane, she has really been of help to me.

OMG, is this his house, this looks like heaven on earth, I had no idea my mouth was open so I quickly closed it hoping no one noticed.

Mr Edward was at the door waiting for me, I greeted him and he lead me inside.

"Welcome Amber, let me show you to your room which is actually a room inside my son's room "

"What, why do I need to stay inside a room in his room" I asked him.

"It was all in the paper you signed but you were in a haste so you didn't go through it" he replied me.

"Oh, so sorry about that I thought you were going to go change the price" I sincerely told him.

"Don't worry am a man of my words. Water or juice?" He asked

"Water" it was still early to take juice anyways.

"My son went out for his morning work out, he usually stay up until late morning before he returns so you can use that time to unpack and also go through this" he said giving me another copy of the agreement paper.

"Thank you Mr Edward" I told him.

"You are welcome Amber and also your luggage is already inside the room, which is right this way" he took me out of this building to another which looks similar to the first one.

"Why are we here?" I asked him.

"My son lives here " he replied.

"But why, you are his father and am sure you love him so well. Why will be live away from you?" I asked him, if only i have a man like him as my father, I wouldn't have ever wanted any more thing.

Don't get wrong is not about his money, I mean I have a stepfather who is rich and all but wants to make sure he sees me dead. But this man in front of me is the opposite of my stepfather. Why will his own son hate him?

"While you are with him don't ever talk about me, he hates it and most especially never talk about his mother, that is a wrong move I will not advise you to take" he said, we were right in front of the room.

When we got inside, the room was much larger than I expected, wow how can one person accommodate this whole room. Come to think of it are we not talking about a young boy here?

Mr Edward showed me another room by the left hand side of the room. Wow this room is crazy, a nice king sized bed, a beautiful well designed wardrobe. Wow, who said there is no heaven on earth, this is cool.

The room was so neat I could swear you won't find any dust in it, I walked into the room that was given to me. The room was not as special as his son's but is cool. It has a bathroom and toilet on the inside.

"I will leave you to yourself, I will be leaving for work and if you ever need anything there lots of servants here who can help you. I will have one of them show you around" Mr Edward said looking at his wrist watch.

After that, he was gone, I went over to my bed and just fell on it. I can't believe I went from being treated as a trash to working for a rich man, a very rich man at that.

I started unpacking my clothes which I found very stressful, so this is what people with lots of clothes go through. By the time I was through my hands were in pain.

Is time to go through this book, I sat on top of my bed and started reading. According to the book I will have to follow him every he goes.

Am not surprised, I was expecting that, I also need to help him to quit drugs, how? Am confused what is a teenage boy doing with drugs?

I know lots of teenagers tends to enter drug trafficking at a young age but this book didn't state why he touches drugs, I mean his is rich what else can he possibly get from taking drugs at a tender age.

I need to get water am very thirsty, I left the room and managed to find the kitchen downstairs. I heard footsteps behind me, and I turned to know who it was. My month dropped wide open when I saw the person in front of me.

Hudson's POV

I just got off gym, i decided to head home straight, I have a meeting I need to attend to this afternoon. I remembered my dad telling me that the new girl will be here today and I actually didn't give a fuck.

I was feeling so suffocated so I decided to take my sport wear off, don't get me wrong I only took the top off am not going to walk home naked, just bare chest.

When I got home I went straight to the kitchen to get water, when I saw lady standing close to the fridge. She has the longest hair I have seen so far, she had her back on me but turned when she heard footsteps began her.

I saw as her mouth dropped open, I can't believe she dribbled on her cloth. Who the heck is she and what is she doing in my kitchen. She was seriously staring at me, she was different from every other servants in this building.

"Who are you and what are you doing In my house?" I asked her coming close to her and she backed away immediately.

"Mr Edward brought me here as his son's personal maid, who are you?" She asked and kept backing away from me.

"So my father brought you here and you don't know who I am?" I asked her, she sound so stupid. I was trying to get a better look at her, but she had her long hair on her face. I can't believe she is the new girl, like they couldn't find a better person.

"Your father, Mr Edward is your father?" She asked but I didn't bother to answer her stupid question. I opened the refrigerator and grabbed one bottle of water and started heading out.

Amber's POV

Who was that? Did he just say Mr Edward is his father? Does that mean Mr Edward has two sons? No matter who he is, he was very rude to me a while ago.

And I was so carried away by his charm, God that guy was very handsome, just when I thought Mr Edward had a bold chest but his son was something else. And giving that he is so tall, and handsome with awesome abs.

I can't believe God created him to be so delicious, I mean so handsome and cool and yet he is rude. I took my water and was about heading back to my room when Mr Edward called me.

"Amber, here you are"

"Mr Edward, I thought you already left for your office?" I asked him.

"Yeah I did, but I couldn't just leave you in this house without briefing you about my son so follow me"

"I just met one of them" I told him and followed him back to his own building, he gave me a sit.

"Amber, I only have one son and am guessing you met him already" I was so confused, the rude guy I saw earlier was nothing like a teenager nor a child, he is a grown ass man.

"Am confused, so I have to be his maid?" I asked surprised.

"Seeing how surprised you are, you haven't been through that book I gave you" Mr Edward said.

"I was going through it when I came out to grabbed a bottle of water before I saw your son, and he was very rude to me" i complained, but wait why am I complaining? I have seen more than this, I have been beaten and tortured before, so why is this affecting me?

Maybe the money, the food, the house, the clothes, they are all affecting me. I never minded before, when I was with Mrs Grace I could go through hell just to be given bread and water in a day.

"That is why am here, Hudson is very rude, don't take it personally though he is like that to everyone" Yeah he can be whatever he wants to be am not giving this job up.

"Okay any other thing I need to know about him?"

"Yes, he is addicted to drugs Amber this is your main job, I need you to make him stop taking them. He wasn't like this before, he was a very sweet and nice boy until........." He paused, I can see that whatever he wants to say he is finding it hard to say.

"Don't tell me if is difficult for you"

"No it nothing, he changed when his mom died, he became this different person. Amber I know you can bring my son back"

"How, am not him. He is a grown ass man, I can't just walk up to him and tell him the dangers of drugs and expect him to stop taking them, am sorry but is up to him. There is nothing I can do"

"You can do something Amber, look I know it may look like am putting you in danger but please stick close to him, if he knows you are allergic to cigarettes smokes, I don't think he would take it with you around" so right now i have to risk my life for him.

What was I expecting, do I have much of an option, at least there is no Mrs Grace or Scorpion here.

"What option do I have, I have already signed the contract, if there is no other thing can i be excused?" I was angry, I don't know why but I was burning up on the inside.

"Amber, no matter what he said to you don't let it get to you, if you are going to earn your respect you have to stand up for yourself, no matter what he says defend yourself" that was the last thing he said before I got up and left.
