Chapter 4

Jane's POV

I was so tensed knowing the fact that Edward concluded on telling Amber everything about the work she is going to do for a million dollars. Even if Edward were to pay me two million dollars to be beside Hudson I will not even try it.

I don't think there is any way Amber is going to agree to this given the fact that she was abused by her stepfather who happened to be a drug addict. The poor girl is now allergic to smokes especially ones coming from cigarette.

Its almost nine o'clock, why is she not here, I wanted to call Edward but decided against it. But what if she didn't agree to the business and then left thinking am a bad person for bringing her close to such torture as a business.

I was already dialing Edward's number when the door opened and I saw Amber with a very sweet smile on her face. Why is she happy? Did something happen? She rushed towards me and hugged me tightly, being very surprised and all I gently pulled her away from me.

"What happened, you look so happy?" Asked her

"I just secured the job of a million dollars by your boss" she said, wait don't tell me that Edward didn't tell her about the nature of the work she is about to do.

"Did you sign the contract with him?" I asked her.

"Yes I did" she replied

"Did you go through it?" She didn't answer me this time around she just made a face that says what is the big deal about reading the book.

"No I didn't but Mr Edward briefed me about it, he said I need to be his son's personal maid, I mean how hard can it be to take care of a kid" she said surprising me the more.

She thought Hudson, a grown ass man that fucks two girls daily is some kid she needs to look after. I tried as much as possible to hold my laugh back. If Hudson managed to know that someone called him a kid, he will be so mad like hell.

"A kid?" I managed to ask still suppressing the laugh.

"Yeah or maybe a teenager, but how come you don't know your bosses kid?" She curiously asked.

"I mean he is my boss, I mustn't know everything about him, you know what they say, don't mix business with pressure" I want to tell her I know who Hudson is but I couldn't, I pitied her because she doesn't know the hell that is coming up for her.

"Is true though, I will keep that at the back of my mind, no mixing of business with pressure" she said closing her eyes like someone that is meditating.

I have never seen her this lively before or this excited about anything. Poor girl, I hope you can do this. When I told her to see Edward I never would have believed she will sign the contract.

"But did my boss explain everything to you about that Job?" I asked

"Well he tried to do but I didn't let him, I was scared he was going to change his mind" she replied.

"Hmm, okay but I wasn't honest with you when I said I didn't know my bosses son. I do know him and he can be a pain in the ass" I told her, guilt wouldn't let me be, so I had to say something.

"I will pass" she simply replied.

"Okay I quickly need to make a phone call" I told her and excused myself. I went back to my office and video called Edward.

Did I mention that Edward is my twin brother and Hudson is my nephew. Yep I have a very arrogant, heartless, selfish, self centered nephew.

"Edward what did you do?" I furious asked him immediately I saw his face on the screen of my laptop.

"Relax sis, I didn't do anything, she signed the papers without even going through it" he said

"You could have briefed her, how hard could that be" I questioned him.

"Look Jane, is not a due or die affair, so if she can't do it with the space of three months she can quit" he said as if is not a big deal.

"Why are you sounding like staying three months with Hudson is not a big deal, you and I knows that no one can stand him for a week not to talk of three"

"Come on there is something different about this girl"

"Come on that's what you said with the last three girls that left after staying a day with him. The longest girl stayed for two days and few minutes" I know he was trying to use that trick on me, he always make it sound like there is something special about each girl but they all run for their life.

I really don't blame them, no one can stand Hudson, I mean not even his father. After his mom died he locked himself in and shut everyone out. After few years he turned into this new person, the warm, kind and gentle Hudson was gone.

"Sis what are you thinking about?" Edward's voice called me back. I really do pity him because after he lost his wife his whole world turned unside down. His son wouldn't let him in or anything, and they both grew apart.

The ones father and son relationship was gone and replaced with Edward finding girls that will be his son's personal maid just to see if he can bring him back.

"Nothing, just thinking about the good old days. Goodnight Edward, I will let you know when Amber is ready" I told him before I ended the call.

Hudson's POV

I was sitting in my room sniffing my cocaine, this is one of the things that keeps me sane, that keep me away from the world.

I turned when my door opened wildly, I saw my dad standing in front of my door. He turned on the light since the room was very dark, that's my favorite spot, away from the light where I have less people staring at me.

"Can't you knock?" I asked him with a harsh voice, I hate people invading my privacy.

"Why are you taking those in my house?" He asked, his voice coming like a thunder. I hate when he treats me like am some teenager who went out parting all night.

"Don't ask me that, do I look three to you?"

"Well to me you don't just look three you also act like one. I don't like seeing this around my house" he said with the same voice.

"Well try and keep off my room, or am leaving this house, beside am as rich as you are so why can't I afford a house. Am only here because I promised mom to be here, so don't ever think am here because of you, I can't even stand you" I said lighten my cigarette and making sure i blew the smoke right on his face.

"You will be getting a new maid by next week so don't be too much surprised about it" he said before turning to leave.

"Actually I won't be the surprised one, I will make sure she will be more than surprised" I told him before he left.

I wonder why he never gives up on this maid thing, he should have fought for mom's life like he is fighting to get me to move on.

Who fucking cares what he has to say, in the compound there is two different houses. I took the last building just like my mom wanted me to.

But her husband won't let me be, what is the point of loving and caring so deeply for someone when you will get up one day and they are gone. Just like my mother did, even though I knew she was murdered cold blooded.

I was still angry, angry that my dad didn't go out with her that night, angry at the people who murdered her, angry that her case was closed up without proper investigation, am angry at the world about her death but I had to remain calm.

Life has really been hard without her, I miss her so much. Well let's wait for the new maid, is always fun to see them so scared of me and running for their life.
