Chapter 7: Mi Amor
Eyes fluttered open, sun blinded my eyes making me flinch, and hands raised to cover in defense.
"You're awake?" I jumped out, startled by the voice and quickly grabbing the blanket as I looked up to see a blonde man, Namjoon— wait, Namjoon?
"N-Namjoon, right?" I choked out, gripping the blanket as I covered my entire body. He nodded making me gulped down my saliva.
"Don't worry," He let out a manly chuckle, showing his dimples. "Nothing happened."
"Huh? What do you mean?" I bluntly asked, rubbing the nape of my neck and glancing down below to see I was still fully dressed but—
"Whose dress is this?!" I squeaked, eyes widened and mouth agape as soon as I realized the dress doesn't belong to me.
"Uh—" Namjoon pressed his lips into thin line. "My girlfriend dressed you up after we found you unconscious in the alleyway yesterday."
"Unconscious?" He nodded.
"We don't know what happened to you. Jimin and I just found you on the ground when we passed by the alleyway to go in the coffee shop." He shrugged. "So I called my girlfriend to get here in Jimin's house to at least clean you up."
They saved me?
I stared at him blankly—processing what he just said. As far as I remember, I was pulled in the alleyway by someone yesterday yet I don't even know who. I don't remember somehow. Thus, I can remember a man in black outfit with his eyes burning holes through my eyes.
"J-Jimin-" I stammered, looking at him. "I'm in Jimin's house?"
"You are." He smiled reassuringly making me breath heavily. "Don't worry. Jimin's place is safe."
I looked down, embarrassed as the entire room became quiet and filled with silence. Namjoon just stared at me as if waiting for me to ask more questions.
"W-Where is Jimin?" I stammered, licking my dry lips, putting down the blanket covering my legs as I looked up to him.
"He went to buy us some breakfast. Guess he should be here anytime soon." He responded, nonchalantly.
Just then, the door screeched open making me snapped at the direction and looked to see a girl with a dimpled smile, the same as Namjoon's smile, plastered on her face.
"Breakfast is ready." She announced, opening the door widely before she left. She is gorgeous and simple—probably Namjoon's girl and type.
"That's my girlfriend." He said shyly, a blush crept on his face as his eyes followed the movement of his girlfriend getting out of the room.
Time passed by, Namjoon and I went downstairs to the kitchen to be met by a man with his back facing us as he stirred something on the pan with Namjoon's girlfriend helping him. I took a glimpse to see it was Jimin making me clear my throat.
Jimin turned around, giving us his smile along with his eyes as soon as he saw us and grabbed the pan, spilling the contents on each plate, neatly.
I never knew Jimin could cook.
"Morning." Jimin greeted, placing the pan on the sink as Namjoon and his girlfriend helped him with the serving of the plate with me just standing looking at them.
"Sit down." Namjoon said, putting down the plate and arranging them. His girlfriend smiled, grabbing my arms and lead me to the chair.
She sat down while I awkwardly sat down—not to mention with Jimin beside me and Namjoon with his girlfriend, across us.
"How was your sleep?" Jimin's smooth and slick voice sent shivers down to spine making me weak. Add his piercing gaze burning a hole in my body.
"Uh—" A lump was on my throat, unable to form out my words. "I-It's fine. Thank you by the way."
Jimin smiled at me. "No problem. We're friends, remember?"
I gripped the table for support, coughing like crazy as soon as his words left his mouth making me internally stumble. How is it that he always mention that we're friends? I mean, since when?
With that, we ate in silence until I decided to ask something—breaking the silent ice.
"Why are you here?" I bluntly asked, coughing as I realized the question was rude. "I m-mean, I thought you're a pastor?"
"I think she meant why are you in the house instead in the convent." Namjoon cleared, helping me out.
Jimin nodded as he snorts. "The leader gave us a vacation for a month before we go back to the convent."
"Really?" He nodded, and once again, silence took over the atmosphere.
"What happened to you?" Jimin asked, curiously and putting down his utensils as I noticed him already done.
I glanced at Namjoon and his girlfriend who was now interested with the topic as well as they looked at me.
"Now that I think about it," Namjoon furrowed his eyebrows, making me gulped. "Why were you in the alleyway?"
"W-What?" I bit my lips, images of what happened yesterday comes in my mind as I sighed. "I don't know."
Of course, I do remember what happened yesterday. It's just I don't want to tell anyon —not with them whom I'm uncomfortable yet.
"Anyways," I cleared my throat, putting down the utensils, not even finishing the food yet. "I have to go."
They snapped their head at me, and said in unison. "What?"
"Where are you going?" Jimin asked, standing up beside me.
I stood up, lips curving into a smile. "Tía will be worried."
And beat me. I mentally thought, rolling my eyes.
I immediately thanked them, rushing towards the door as we bid each other a goodbye without being rude. I didn't want to leave the house being rude that they saved me and sheltered me for a night.
"Thank you so much for everything, Jimin, Namjoon and—" I paused, looking at Namjoon's girlfriend.
"It's Niña." She said, reaching out her hand for me to shake and gladly took it. "Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself in the bedroom."
"No problem." I said reassuringly and she nodded.
"Want us to give you a ride?" Jimin offered but I shook my head.
"My aunt will be mad if they see me with someone." I said clearly, and they nodded, understanding my situation.
"I guess it's a goodbye?" Jimin said, rubbing the back of his neck. "We'll visit the coffee shop everyday anyway. So we'll be seeing each other often."
"You will?" He nodded.
"My friends will be gathered there." He answered.
I smiled, feeling giddy all of a sudden before saying goodbye once again, turning around but was stopped by Jimin.
"Wait!" My eyebrows furrowed, turned around to face Jimin.
"What?" My lips parted, waiting for him to say what he wanted to say.
"We're friends now, right?" Jimin asked, cheekily, making me snort.
"Sure thing." I replied, amused by his sudden question.
"Great!" He said excitedly, grinning from time to time.
"Why are you so desperate to become my friend anyway?" I teased, wiggling my eyebrows.
Jimin smirked. "Isn't that a step to becoming more than something?"
My expression fell, backing away—startled by his words. "What?"
Becoming more than what?
"Now go!" Jimin smiled, gripping my shoulders before turning me around and pushing me.
"Alright!" I scoffed, rolling my eyes before looking and waving one last time. I turned around, started walking as shivers ran down my spine when I heard someone.
"Goodbye, Mi amor." It was the same voice from yesterday.
I turned around to see the three of them waving, realizing that I was already meters away from them already. I couldn't have heard them from this area.
Was I hallucinating again? I shook my head, eyebrows furrowed in confusion, and just decided to leave.
