Chapter 2
Two years ago, the police solved grisly serial killings. The perpetrator, Sebastian, was a handsome man who had been indoctrinated with distorted values by his father from a young age, resulting in a deep-seated hatred for women. Under the interrogation, Sebastian confessed to killing five high school girls who had expressed romantic interest in him, simply because he felt they lacked self-respect, and to raping and brutally dismembering six female colleagues during their employment, because he believed they had advanced in their careers by exploiting their bodies.
One day prior, Sebastian, who had been sentenced to death, killed two prison guards and escaped from prison. Seeing the extremely vicious fugitive before me, I was paralyzed with fear and collapsed to the ground. I raised my trembling arm, pointed at Sebastian, and asked in a lowered voice, grinding my teeth, "Carol, do you realize who you've brought home?" Carol's face was sweet with bliss, "Of course, a handsome guy drenched by the rain, the leading man of my future life!" I burst into an angry laugh, ready to reveal Sebastian's identity and harshly scold Carol, but then I suddenly remembered the doctor's recent prognosis of little hope for my recovery.
Facing certain death either way, I decided to drag Carol, the cause of my life's ruin, down to hell with me. "Yes, he is indeed the heir of the Balton family, the wealthiest man ever. I'm so jealous of you. You're going to be a rich lady and live the good life!" My tone shifted, feigning envy and jealousy. The wealthy heir's photo had never been exposed on the internet, which conveniently allowed me to fabricate. Carol, flattered by my compliments, was lost in her delusions and did not take any further action.
Growing impatient, I said, "Carol, after you marry this wealthy man, could you introduce me to a wealthy, handsome man too?" "Which wealthy, handsome man would fancy you? Besides, you're about to die, so don't hold others back," Carol scoffed dismissively. "I'm just saying it. Sue, don't take it to heart." Realizing her mistake as she glanced at Sebastian on the sofa, Carol quickly brushed me off with a few words.
She then hurriedly carried Sebastian towards the bathroom, eager to avoid my entanglement. After Carol entered the bathroom, I stared at the door for a long while. Once I heard the sound of running water, my expression shifted from complex to relieved, and I turned back to my room to activate the bathroom's surveillance camera.
