Chapter 5
POV of a third party
They were unaware of the time, so when Nate arrived at his condo, it was late at night. Even at work, he overlooked his unfinished business.
The fact that this would be his final birthday spent with his pals because he was departing the nation the next day prevented him from saying no to them.
Just slightly inebriated. Getting drunk is difficult. Darkness and an eerily silent condo were waiting for him as he opened the door.
As he looked around the entire area, his forehead furrowed. It appears as though he has returned his apartment to the days when his wife didn't visit.
He turned on the light and re-examined the area, checking the kitchen but finding no one present.
He quickly entered his room and turned on the light, only to be disappointed by how empty and silent it was. As they had earlier left it, the bed was still tidy and made up. He didn't observe any evidence that someone had moved or even just laid down here.
Who is she? in his thoughts.
He provided his wife with a spare key so she could enter the apartment quickly, making it impossible for her to have escaped.
He instantly pulled his phone out of the pocket of his jeans in case his wife had texted or called.
However, all of the unopened mail was
He sat down on the bed and regarded the mattress for a moment before turning to the area of the bed where his wife had slept the previous night. He kept staring at it for a while, acting as though his wife was lying next to him.
He won't acknowledge it, but he's become accustomed to sleeping next to and being with his wife all the time. Every night, he is accustomed to receiving a hug. He's also used to always taking on tasks that are exclusive to him and his wife.
He stood up and exited the room to get a sip of water since the silence in the space was deafening. He used to live a calm life, but he's not used to it anymore.
Under his eyes, there was a dark ring. It's a symptom of sleep deprivation. He immediately thought of his wife as she was fastening his tie.
Did I repair it properly?" he thought to himself. while observing the already-tied tie.
What he just said was, "Whatever."
He quickly made it to his workplace and completed the task he started yesterday.
Time flies by quickly, and now it is lunchtime. He awaited the arrival of her wife. He patiently awaited.
But...
The lunch break has ended, but his wife is still absent. He was shocked because of this.
He went to his secretary after leaving the office.
He questioned Brenda, "Brenda, didn't Ellesa visit today?"
Her secretary apologized, saying, "Sorry, sir, but ma'am Ellesa didn't come here."
But, sir, yesterday she
"Good," sir.
Ellesa was running the hospital, so he arrived quickly.
He went straight to his wife's office after arriving at the hospital to meet her secretary.
He questioned, "Where's Ellesa?" right away.
He had a scowl on his face and appeared perplexed.
Her secretary responded, "I'm sorry, sir, but she didn't come in today. She wasn't there yesterday. The last thing she said was that she was going to visit you because she wanted to celebrate his birthday with you."
"Birthday?" he asked without responding.
He could hear the woman's nervousness in her voice as she said, "Yes, sir, it was her birthday yesterday." "Didn't she go to see you?"
He shouted an angry "Shit!" He then sped off to his car.
Birthday?
