Chapter 5

I knew well that I didn’t have any right to slap the woman but Drake was my boo and how dared she hugged him?

"I missed you!" the woman said huskily.

"I did too,” my boo replied.

The female tiptoed and kissed him on the lips. I loudly cleared my throat to get their attention. And it actually worked. They looked at her and the woman removed her arms which were around Drake’s body to turn to her. But my eyes narrowed when she instead put one of her arms on his back and leaned the side of her head on his chest.

"Who is she baby? One of your patients?" she asked Drake.

Before he could reply I couldn’t help asking, "Excuse me? Do I look like I need enhancement?!" I almost rolled my eyes at her.

The woman raised one brow as she scrutinized me. Drake on the other hand had a creased forehead and didn’t seem to look liked he wanted to make introductions. One his arms were on the female’s shoulder. I had the sudden desire to throw the plastic container with pancakes and eggs at them.

" I'll go ahead. If you don’t like the food feel free to feed everything to your malnourished friend!"

I walked out with my head held high.

My day was ruined. I had a bad mood even after reaching my office.

Who was that anyway? Was she my boo’s girlfriend? No! She couldn’t be! I wouldn’t allow it! – I told myself.

I decided to call Ola to vent.

"What’s this Lexi? Finders keepers? If you still have a price then I suggest you stop throwing yourself at him! You’re too lovely to break up a relationship! He has a girlfriend so forget him!"

"They don’t make a good pair! I am the perfect woman for him!" I said sounding firm.

"Whatever! As a friend I am just giving you the best advice! Goodness girl! Don’t waste your beauty and time! A lot of guys fancy you! You can take your pick! However hot he is why force yourself on him? Obviously he doesn’t feel the same way about you!” Ola sounded irritated.

"Do you think I know the answer to that? Anyway I think it’s best to change tactics. What you advised and did to my appearance didn’t seem to work so this time I will do it my way! I want to see until when he can pretend to be immune to my charm.” I said with confidence.

Since Drake didn’t eat fast food, what I did was bring him home-cooked meals for the whole week I woke up earlier than usual to make him salad, sandwiches and I even cooked pasta for him. I also went to a well-known coffee shop for his coffee. I did everything wholeheartedly. Ut the sad part was I never got the chance to see him and it was the fourth day now. It seemed that my boo was avoiding me. Claudia said that Drake would come late today so I just asked her to give him his food as usual. I left the office as usual feeling gloomy and disappointed.

"Aw!" I exclaimed when my body hit something solid.

Two strong hands steadied me. I raised my face and eyes and saw two pair of smiling eyes.

"Careful Miss. Are you okay?" he asked with concern.

Wow he is so fine looking! I thought.

The tall man had beautiful dark eyes. Drake had lighter colored ones. I nodded and he released my arms.

"I'm Paolo."

"My name is Lexi.”

We smiled at each other.

"Good morning Doctor Paolo!" a nurse who was passing by greeted him.

He nodded at her and returned his eyes back to me

"Look at where you are going next time, okay? Be extra careful. Lovely ladies like you shouldn’t get hurt, " he said with a smile before entering the lift.

I walked out of the building feeling blissful. That handsome doctor made my day brighter. I seemed to be lucky colliding with good-looking doctors. I slid in my car. I was about to start the engine when I saw Drake got out of the building. I frowned. Claudia said he would be in before lunch. I started to be annoyed. My eyes were now slits when I saw a white car stopped in front of the entrance of the building where Drake was standing. The female I saw at his office last week stepped out of the driver’s seat and went to Drake to kiss him. He even want around the car to open the passenger’s door for her. I clenched my fists. I hated the fact that they were cheating on me! I promised myself that tomorrow, by hook or by crook he would see me.

Next day, I prepared chicken salad and I came to the clinic very early. I parked closed to the entrance. When I saw his black BMW parked next to my car, I smiled. Now he couldn’t hide from me any longer. I held my breath when he got off. He looked magnificent in his white long-sleeved shirt. I let ten minutes passed before I got out from my car. When I reached the third floor where his private clinic was, I headed towards the door.

"Miss Bustamante, Doctor Drake isn’t in yet.”

I turned to Claudia with eyes like daggers.

"I saw him came in. Try to stop me and see what happens,” I threatened.

I almost smirked when I saw how pale her face became. She was scared of me after all. I sighed and turned to the door of Drake’s private room. Without knocking, I went inside and locked the door after me.

He was reading some documents and shock registered on his face when he saw me.

"Alexandria? Why are you here again?! You just can't barge in my office like that!" he said while his brows are knitted.

I raised the paper bag I was carrying.

"I made salad for you. Did you eat the food I made for you the past few days?” I asked.

All my anger and ill feelings melted when I saw how he looked today. I was glad that I made myself attractive this morning too. I decided to put on a sexy top with buttons in front. I was in a pair of skinny jeans. What I had on hugged my sexy body like a glove. I almost smiled wider when I noticed that my boo's eyes glinted while he ran his eyes on me. I sat on the chair in front of his desk.

"Are you avoiding me?” I asked directly.

His eyes narrowed but he didn't say anything. He was just staring at me.

"I have some meetings and a lot of patients today. Thank you for the food. Don’t bring any food again after today. I don’t want to trouble you,” he said.

"It’s no trouble at all. I like cooking for you. Don’t you like that I do it for you?" I asked huskily.

Silence enveloped the room.

"Don't make me say it Alexandria ."

I sighed. I knew what he was about to say. Time to do Plan B. If the way through his heart wasn’t through his stomach, then there’s another way I knew. I stood up and walked around to his chair. He followed me with his eyes.

"What's wrong with me Why do you dislike me? "I asked him huskily.

His sexy eyes ran from my breathtaking face down my curvaceous body.

"You have a body that can give a man multiple orgasms Alexandria but I am a hunter. I do the pursuing, not the other way around. Take your delicious *ss somewhere else because am not interested. I have more important things to do," he said dismissively and looked at his laptop seeming unconcerned with my feelings.

When he raised his eyes again he cocked an eyebrow. I was unbuttoning my top while running the pink tip of my tongue around my lips. His eyes narrowed. I was now just in my lacy underwear.

"Can you say no to all these Drake Quintero?" I asked huskily as I touched my br*asts under my bra. I slowly went towards him.

"Make me yours, you won't regret it, " I said almost like a whisper as I looked at his gorgeous face.

He can't help but curse with what I said. His eyes turned dark. My face broke into a seductive smile. He wanted me after all. He was just playing hard to get.

"Take me my boo..."I uttered in a breathy voice as I began to unhook my brassiere.

He was poker-faced again as he looked directly at my eyes.

"No! Button your top. I have a meeting in 10 minutes," he said before standing up from his office chair.

What he said made angered me. He might be the most good looking doctor I had seen but he couldn’t say no to me. Before he could speak again I extended my arm and pulled his tie. I tiptoed to kiss him on the lips. I wrapped my arms around his nape after releasing his tie. I wasn’t an expert in kissing but I would do what I’ve watched in the movies. I had my eyes closed as I savoured his lips. I was on fire! I had been kissed but this was different. His lips were so damn soft for a man and his breath smells so good. I groaned when finally he put his arms around me. I moaned when his tongue dominated the kiss. I felt a throbbing between my legs. Our tongues battled and I was in cloud nine but then after a few seconds, he suddenly broke the kiss. He held me by my arms to put a space between us. I couldn’t believe he ended the wonderful French kiss. I was just staring at him in awe. We were both gasping for air after what we’ve shared.

"Why?" I asked in a small puzzled voice.

He let go of my arms as if he was burned. He went to the other side of the room to look out the window.

"Go now Alexandria," he said in an expressionless tone with his back on her.

"But you were also enjoying the kiss..." .

He let out a small sarcastic laugh without turning to me.

"Who wouldn't? You were offering yourself to me. Even an unwilling man would be tempted!" he rasped before he turned to direct his eyes on me.

His expression was difficult to read.

"Look at you. Would a decent woman do all this? When I first set eyes on you, I felt that it's very easy for you to flaunt your body. You’ve proven me right last time we talked. You're not my kind of woman. I’m sorry Alexandria."

He was still poker-faced.

I felt like he slapped me twice with what he said. I hastily buttoned my top while still staring at him with my eyes wide Finally it hit me that he abhorred me and would never liked me for me. Pain slowly run through my heart. I turned to go. I heard him call me but I ignored him. I quickly grabbed my bag then bolted for the door.

With unshed tears, I ran out of his clinic. I collided with someone since I had my head and eyes lowered. I didn't want to cry but tears wanted to fall.

"Lexi?" called a man’s voice.

He had his hands on my arms to steady me. I raised my face and eyes. I didn’t what came over me but when I saw the worried look on his face, I sobbed.

He rubbed my back gently as he whispered in my ear, "Hush don’t cry here. Let's go somewhere."

I just nodded as I swallowed a sob. When one of his arms went around me, I my face fell on his chest. He guided me outside with his hand on my back.

"Claudia tell Drake I'll be back later." I heard him say.

"Okay Dr. Paolo.”

"Shit!! Stupid a*sshole!!" Drake cursed at himself as he went back to his swivel chair.

He raked his fingers through his hair in frustration. He didn't plan to be harsh at Lexi but his control snapped when she kissed him. He didn’t need a distraction. He went back to the country for work. There was no room for a woman in his life. He heard a knock so he fixed his tie and flexed his neck muscle.

“Come in!”

Claudia appeared. "Dr. Drake, Dr. Paolo said he will be back soon.”

He frowned. He looked at his watch. Their meeting would start in 5 minutes.

"Where did he go?" he asked.

"He’s with Miss Bustamante.”

"What?!!" he asked in an angry voice.

His secretary seemed taken aback and looked a little afraid when his voce thundered in the room. When he saw her scared expression, he said in a low but a very cold voice," Thank you Claudia. You can go now. “

She just nodded and left.

When the door closed, he violently stood up from his chair then dialed his phone while his other hand was massaging his nape. He cursed when Paolo didn't answer his call. He had no idea that his colleague knew Lexi. He didn't like the thought that the two were together.
