Chapter 3: Meeting him
Mia's POV
''It's him.'' I whispered to myself as he walked out on us, while Dad flickered an assuring smile to us and went after him. ''It's him.'' I mumbled out while holding mom's gaze.
''What's wrong darling?'' Mom asked as she moved closer to me. ''It's him!'' I murmured in shock, still holding mom's gaze. ''What's wrong dear?'' She asked and cupped my both cheeks. ''The boy I told you I always see in my dreams, it's him.'' I murmured in shock.
''Oh!'' Mother responded and made me sit on the couch. ''Maybe it's because of the bond between you too, you know there is no bond stronger than that of siblings.'' Mom said and gently caressed my cheek. ''But it seems like he hates me.'' I murmured and rested my head on mom's shoulders.
''Stay calm baby, he is just trying to wrap everything up, you know it's not easy to get such shocking news, but I promise you he will come around.'' Mom assured me with those words, while I just sighed, closed my eyes and went into deep thought.
For the past two days, I've been so excited about finally meeting my big brother. Ever since I was a kid, I always wanted a big brother that would love and protect me, but I never had one. When I turned seven, mom and dad broke the news that dad had another family and that was why he was not always with us. Such news from them broke my heart, but when dad made mention of having a son who is six years older than me, for strange reasons, I became excited and became eager to meet him.
I would always plead with dad to let me meet him, but he would say the time was not right, that he would make us meet when the time was right.
Every day of my life, I look forward to meeting my brother. I imagined both of us going to the park, having lunch together, and also imagined him protecting me from big bullies.
Every moment of my life I lived as a good girl, so when my big brother sees me, he would have no reason to dislike me.
Three years ago, dad came home soaked in tears and heartbroken. That was the first day I saw dad so miserable. I wanted to comfort him and asked him what was wrong, but mom sent me upstairs to my room.
Later in the evening, he came into my room and announced to me that he had just lost his wife to a terrible illness. The moment he broke the news to me, the first words that came out of my lips were, ''Brother?'' I was worried about him and wondered what he might be going through. I asked dad about him and how he was doing, and dad told me he was terrible and heartbroken. ''I want to see him.'' I pleaded with dad, but he shook his head and promised to take me to him on his eighteenth birthday.
Every day of my life, I looked forward to that day until today, only to realize he didn't react the way I wished he would.
''What are you thinking?'' Mom asked, while lifting my head up, ''Do you think he would accept us?'' I asked with fear, ''Of course, but it will take sometime.'' She said and placed a kiss on my forehead.
A few minutes later, Dad came back and flashed us a weak smile, ''He is just trying to wrap up everything, don't worry about it.'' Dad assured us, while Mom nodded her head and smiled at him.
''Are you okay, dear?'' Dad asked as he squatted before me with curious eyes. ''Are you scared because of your brother abilities?'' Dad asked, but I shook my head and said, ''He has great abilities, and I'm not scared of him, he is my brother.'' I said with a smile, which dad returned and gave me a hug. ''He is a good boy and I know he will make a good big brother to you.'' Dad whispered those words into my left ear, placed a kiss on my forehead and pulled away.
''Cara.'' He called out and a lady in her late thirties moved forward. ''Yes alpha.'' She responded. ''Cara here is the nanny to Ricardo, she has been in this mansion since his birth and Ricardo sees her as his second mother.'' Father introduced. ''Nice to meet you, Cara.'' Mom greeted. ''Cara will show you to your room and show you around.'' Dad explained while I nodded my head with a smile. ''Come with me.'' She said and led the way, while I just followed behind.
We took the long staircase and walked past four rooms before she stopped at the fifth door. ''This is your room and over there is Ricardo's room.'' She said while pointing at the door before my room. ''Call me if you need anything.'' She said and walked away.
Curiously, I stared at Ricardo's door and had the urge to knock on it, but I held back myself and opened the door to my room.
I went in and noticed the painting on the wall was painted in my favorite blue color. A big bed was placed in the center of the room. A big closet hung on a corner of the room, a sizable reading table was placed in another corner of the room. On the wall hung a big smart TV and DVD sets.
Sighing heavily, I collapsed on the bed with my back and my thoughts drifted to Ricardo. There was something strange in his eyes, something I couldn't tell or understand.
