Chapter 10 Undress Him

Deanna didn't bother to explain further. It would be a waste of time.

She withdrew her hand from Lance's body and turned to Ava, asking, "Ava, do you have acupuncture needles?"

Ava's eyes lit up with hope. "Yes! Miss Jones, does this mean you can treat him?"

Deanna nodded.

Xavier, still skeptical, asked, "Miss Jones, are you sure you can do this?"

Deanna shot him an exasperated look. She was annoyed by Xavier's endless doubts.

"I said I can, so I can! Do you want to treat him, or should I?"

Xavier wisely kept his mouth shut.

Ava hurried upstairs and returned with a needle kit filled with various types of acupuncture needles.

"I'll need some help," Deanna said.

"Just tell us what to do," Ava replied, and Xavier nodded in agreement.

"Alright, Ava, please sterilize all the needles," Deanna instructed and then turned to Xavier. "Xavier, I need you to take off his clothes. Leave his underpants on."

"What?" Ava glanced at Deanna in surprise but quickly moved to sterilize the needles.

Xavier hesitated, looking at Deanna in disbelief.

If Mr. Mercer became half-naked in front of a woman, it would seem improper.

Plus, acupuncture typically only required the removal of the upper clothing.

He doubted Deanna's intentions, but Deanna raised an eyebrow, challenging him.

"If you don't undress him, just roll up his pant legs. But if anything goes wrong, are you willing to take responsibility?"

Xavier, gritting his teeth, complied.

Given the urgency, he had no choice but to trust her. He hoped Lance wouldn't suffer for this decision.

Once the clothes were off, the handsome man's muscular frame was exposed.

He lay facedown on the bed, his broad shoulders and narrow waist gleaming in the light.

Deanna took the sterilized needles from Ava, her expression serious as she began the acupuncture.

Her precise and steady technique was evident.

One needle was placed in Lance's shoulder, another in his calf.

Xavier watched curiously, unfamiliar with acupuncture.

Ava, though not just a receptionist but also Old Hughes' assistant, understood medical techniques.

She knew the body's acupoints well, but Deanna was targeting unfamiliar ones.

Did Miss Jones really know acupuncture?

Would she hurt Mr. Mercer?

"Miss Jones, these acupoints don't seem like the usual ones. Why is that?" Ava asked cautiously.

"There are many acupoints on the human body. I learned differently, so mine might not match what you know," Deanna replied without looking up, clearly not wanting to elaborate.

Her acupoint knowledge came from her master, a practitioner of ancient medical arts passed down through generations. It wasn't something most people could know.

Ava, half-believing, watched nervously but didn't dare interrupt.

After a long time, Deanna finally finished the acupuncture. She wiped the sweat from her forehead and sighed with relief.

"It's done."

Xavier looked at Lance, still unconscious and covered in needles, and asked worriedly, "How is he?"

"Don't touch the needles. I'll remove them in ten minutes, and he'll wake up," Deanna assured.
