Chapter 6

Amber was stunned when she heard that voice. She slowly open her eyes and she saw the green jade eyes focused on her face... His blonde hair with pony tail but messy and dirty... And his lips just close to her face. She feels its hot breath.

"S-Sir?" she exclaimed.

It slowly left on top of her and it helped her stand up. She trembled slightly in fear. She was so shocked by what happened, she thought she was going to die.

"Sorry about that. I thought you were an opponent. Fortunately, I did not shoot you. What are you doing here?!"

"I-I..." she was very shocked by what happened.

She looked at his face puzzled. She was scared... She was surprised when Siege approached her and hugged her.

"I'm so sorry... I didn't mean what I did before. Please, don't be scared of me. I won't harm you..."

She felt weak, she was very close to his body and then she cried staring at his face.

"T-They need help... Please, we need to get out of this forest so we can ask a rescue for them." she said to Siege.

She stared intently at his face. Siege, on the other hand, was surprised from what said by Amber. He did not expect what he heard.

"What do you mean?" he asked.

"Sergeant Andrada, they were captured by Gener Umali's men and they helped me escape to get outside help."

He was a little taken aback by the revelation he heard. His blood was very hot. His jaws tightened with anger because of what he found out.

"What ?! T-Gener of Gener Umali?!"

"Yes..."

Then, Amber just explained everything she knew to Siege. Extreme anger registered on his face and she saw its jaws tighten.

"In that case, this rescue operation is a trap for us. They did it to ambush us and capture us. But, what do they need? Those traitors must ready for me when I return... I will not charge them."

He let go of her hug and moved away. She did not realize that she had been stuck with it for a long time. It's not a time for an awkward moment. She frowned as Siege stared at her.

"You, why did Gener Umali's staff capture you?" its a sudden question.

Her lips parted and then she hesitated to smile.

"Come on, Captain! This is not the time to investigate." she laughed with her answer.

"Are you doing something illegal?" Siege asked again.

Amber's head suddenly heated up at that accusation. Disgusted she looked at the face of the person in front of her. She was triggered.

"Do you think Captain, I will risk my life just to do something illegal?! My gosh! I did not become a lawyer to abide by the law. What I'm doing is getting some evidence against that lunatic!"

Amuse that Siege looked at Amber and after that he smiled foolishly. He admired her courage to do such a thing.

"Unfortunately, I was caught and my video-camera was confiscated. And here I am... My gosh!" Amber blurt out.

She was stunned when Siege messed up her hair. She looked at him in shock and a foolish smile returned it to her.

"I will take it back, for you. But for now... We need to get out of here first and get outside contact. Listen to me, you are under my command now. You have no choice."

She angrily removed his hand from her head. She stared at Siege. She was not accustomed to following others. She would have spoken but...

"Sssshhh..."

She suddenly closed her mouth when she saw it looked around. After that it pulled her aside running. She ran continuously in no time. It pulled her behind a giant tree, and make her to fall down. After that she saw that Siege took a gun out of the thick bushes. That's big. They heard footsteps.

"Look for that woman! It hasn't gone far yet! Let's search more when we don't see her here!"

Amber swallowed and she suddenly held her breath. Meanwhile, Siege was ready. He glanced at the men coming. He counted how many of them... Six. He slowly crawled forward and hid behind the large grasses. He motioned for his companion to stay where she was and remain on the ground. He should have started to approach the armed men approaching where they were but they turned in the other direction. Still, he remained alert throughout the moment. when they were a little far away he slowly crawled towards another tree and immediately hid behind them. He closely monitored the direction of the opponents. When he made sure they were far away, he immediately took the map he was carrying out of his pocket.

He marked the direction the opponents were heading and he also marked the spots where they could possibly meet them. Then, he looked at the map at the exit point where they could safely go. He was violently blown away, they are far from the safe exit point. But it's better to be sure and he has a civilian with him.

Meanwhile... Duke and July ran out of ammunition, so they did nothing but throw away the guns they were holding and raise their hands as a sign of surrender. Opponents immediately approached them, surrounded and...

"You bastards!"

They were suddenly hit by guns on various parts of their bodies and they no longer knew who they were because they were gathered.

That was the last thing the two heard before they fainted... When they woke up they both covered their heads with a black sack and tied on the chairs back to back.

Their bodies was continued beaten by Gener’s staff. The latter watched and was overjoyed while torturing his captives.

"Be thankful that you were still alive because I need the ransom for you. Why don't you just cooperate with me? I am open to any negotiations." the language is Gener.

July clenched his fists.

"None of us are in charge of the unit so no negotiations will take place!" his bold language.

Gener's eyebrows met.

"Do you know what you did?!"

The man was going to hit the iron tube on July's head when...

"Stop that. I will have a hard time repairing the damaged tissue in their body by chance. You know I need them for the Super Soldier project."

Duke and July were stunned to hear the speaker and what he had said.

"I'm sorry, Dr. Keston. Because these two released my captive woman. They also made a big mess and many of my staff died."

Doctor Keston looked annoyed to Gener.

"She is just a woman, she is not safe in the forest and with your staff. Also, she is useless because you hold the evidence she got. They are more important because we can get money from them and I can use their body for the project I am building. When I succeed, I will revive Advance Tech and when that happens, I will have a strong army and power. I can control everything because of fear."

July's eyes widened and he sighed. Advance Tech?! Dr. Keston? If so, were they fed to be an experiment? Will they make guinea pigs?! Really disgusting!

Meanwhile... Siege returned to Amber. He approached it and he helped it stand up.

"It's okay. The opponents are gone." he said.

Amber slowly looked up.

"A-Are you sure?"

"Yes, darling."

Her hand trembled as she held the gun. Siege looked at it and looked at her face carefully.

"Do you know how to use that?" casual this question.

She rested deeply.

"Come here." its command.

She obeyed its command, walked over to it and sat across from it. She looked at the map with marks. She sees only X and O, then arrows.

"What are those marks?" she asked curiously.

"These X's are the spots where we can meet the opponents. This big X is the possible location of Gener's fortress. These circles are the safety spots where we can pass, we can get away with it, but it is better to be careful. Hell, I will take you to safety first. As long as I can contact Ervine right away, there is no problem. We will conduct a rescue operation immediately."

She looked worriedly at the face of the person in front of her. She could not see the fear on Siege's face.

"What?" Siege ask.

"Are you still going back?!" she exclaimed.

"Of course. My unit is the captives. They are my soldiers so I can't let them just like that. But first things first, I need to contact the Men in Action so that they know the anomaly that happened and so that, I can catch the accomplices in this nonsense. I'll kill them by myself."

She did not like the last he heard from Siege.

"We have a law, don't do that. I am willing to be a witness." She immediately objected to what he said.

She was surprised when Siege touched her main chin. He looked at her seriously and she looked back in amazement.

"The law you know is just a rule made by man. It's not perfect. I believe more in the law called outlaw. Those people can play trick on the judiciary because of their money. The money can buy the law. Face that truth, darling."

"And your gonna put justice in your hands? I-I'm not agree with that thing. There is process, as long as we have the evidence... We can convict them."

Siege smiled sparingly as he stared into the face of the good lawyer. Here again, they are arguing because they have different beliefs.

"Justice is blind and deaf when it comes to money. Even though, you have all the evidence you've got... It's just no used at all, darling. I've seen a lot of things and I have learned a lot from them. And all that, you can not read in the book. My whole life was in war. And I welcome you into my world. This is what I am."

She could not speak in those moments. Siege smiled sparingly at her but his words were serious. The type is like a child who is taught many things she does not yet know. Siege spoke again.

"A great soldier told us that... If you want PEACE, prepare for Battle. You should fight for it. And if you want JUSTICE, take an action. That is the only law that we Men in Action hold."

None of her own, she held his hand holding her chin. She has nothing more to say to counter this.

"The real justice, darling... It really doesn't exist on the law. The real justice is made by action. But anyway, after all of this chaos... Can we have a date?"

Her eyes widened at what he said. Then she smiled and laughed softly.
