The result of Cowardice 2

"Oh shut up!!" He cut Tracy off immediately.

"Destiny has always said you are a bad person, always jealous of the things you will never have but I didn't think it was to this extent." He sneered at me.

Jealous?? What good thing does he have for me to be jealous about??

"You really called my father on me, and what did you think will happen after?? To think I saw you as my brother... you are nothing but a blood sucking demon. You have nothing to get from me again, that's why you decided to be a little bitch and tattle on me!" He yelled, then stormed off into his room.

I stared at his retreating figure silently. I knew he would be angry at this outcome, his father must have given him an ultimatum and I know he can't survive without the weekly funds he gets from him since he still hasn't been able to get a dime from the so called yahoo he has been learning, so that should be enough to get him to stop.

He might be angry now but I'm sure later in the future, he'll be grateful for what I did for him today.

I felt Tracy palm on my shoulder, gently tapping to comfort me;

"Don't worry about anything he just said, he doesn't mean it." She muttered while I only gave an understanding nod.

Soon, Isaac returned but he was carrying a luggage with him. What is he doing?? I stood up immediately, planning to ask but he quickly shoved me out of the way.

"Babe.." Tracy called out, holding unto the bag before he could walk out the door.

"What are you doing?" She asked in surprise.

"Leaving!" He spat, pushing her hand off and stormed out of the house.

I stared at the door in shock, not expecting it would end like this. I thought he would listen to reason, understand it was all for him but he decided to walk out on us, the only people who truly cared about him.

Maybe I shouldn't have gone as far as involving his father. Where is he planning to stay now?

Tracy's teary eyes moved to me, they were glistening with endless worry. Swallowing my regrets, I decided to chase after him... Hopefully stop him from making a mistake.

So, I ran out only to see he wasn't leaving the compound. He did the one thing I had hoped he wouldn't. Still dragging his luggage with him, he walked into Destiny's house.

Destiny stared at me from the veranda, his eyes dripping with coldness and disgust.

"Bloody snitch!" He cussed at me before walking into his house too.

That was the moment I knew I had lost my best friend, my brother for life. After that day, my relationship with him became even more estranged that he wouldn't even bear to stay in the same space with me, let alone talk or listen to anything I had to say.

Seeing it had gotten that far, I gave up trying to help him. Like he said, he wasn't a kid anymore so he could do whatever he wanted and he'll be the one to suffer the consequences alone but Tracy on the other hand had a different thought.

After everything, she still got back together with him, maybe hoping with time, her love and patience would help him change but what she didn't realize the was that he had already gotten to a point that not even magic, let alone love could bring him back to the Isaac she once knew.

Life went on with us cutting off ties till two weeks later when I returned from a lecture. I noticed the door to Destiny's house wasn't locked like it was supposed to and there was a loud music booming from within.

Curiosity took the best of me and I walked into the apartment. There, I saw something I should never have witnessed, something that made me fully change my view of my once best friend.

He was fully naked, same with the said Destiny but you want to know the worst thing? Tracy was also there, tied up naked to the bed with her legs spread wide and her mouth covered to muffle up her screams as they both took their turns in assaulting and humiliating her.

Seeing how severe it was and how hard she was crying her eyes out, I ran to them and tried to push them off but they were just too strong and seemd like they were on drugs.

I never knew being very high on drugs could make one become stronger and I learned that the hard way!

At first, I didn't stop trying to help. I just couldn't turn my back on her at this moment. She didn't deserve any of this. So, I tried harder. Sensing a disruption in their moment, the two boys pounced on me instead.

I wasn't expecting it so I fell to the floor, managing to protect my face as they beat me so hard like they were finally pouring our their hatred towards me.

When I couldn't take it anymore,. I quickly took to my heels, running for my dear life. While leaving, I saw that look in her eyes... it was filled with disappointment but still, I ran, out of their house and the compound.

I was too afraid to go into my house because we lived close. I managed to spend the night at another friend's place, hiding the fact that I was beaten up by my best friend and his cohort while trying to stop them from assaulting his girlfriend.

All through the rest of that day, I couldn't get that moment out of my head. It felt like a bad nightmare because I could never fathom the Isaac I knew could do that to the girl he once loved.

Putting it aside as a nightmare helped me sleep a bit that night till the next day, I got the sudden news that Tracy had passed away. They didn't stop even after beating me up. They continued till there was nothing left of her and then, it was already too late.

The news hit me lit a strong blow in my gut. It wasn't a nightmare! It was real!! I was there when it happened and even if I didn't have the power to stop them, I should have called for help!

If I did, Tracy would still be alive.

Her eyes that day, she looked at me with so much anticipation, thinking I was going to help her but I ran away like a scared puppy! The last look she had before her end will surely haunt me till the day I leave this world.

The culprit have both been arrested and sent to court for her demise but I couldn't stop the guilt I felt. Only if I was man enough, if I wasn't a coward... I'm so sorry Tracy!
