CHAPTER ONE
I packed my things that I will be needing to live away from my parents. I am set to transfer today to my new dorm where I’ll be living with the gangsters. To be honest, the thought of me living with some people I know nothing about already excites me. When I first found out that they are gangsters, I can’t help but to feel nervous for my life but I realized that it was my dad asking for it and I am sure that he will never let something bad happen to me. Also, my dad informed me that these boys look so good so I’ll enjoy my view which made me wonder how good they really look like. Do they look like James Reid? The thought of it excites me more.
“Are you done?” My mom entered my room without me noticing it. By the looks of it, she’s being so emotional right now because of me leaving our home.
“Mom, don’t be emotional please,” I asked her. “I’ll just study there, remember?” I said to remind her that I will still come back home.
“It’s not that, son. We’ll never know what to expect from that university. Who knows?” She stated her worries and I truly understand why. “If you said yes just because you don’t want to disappoint your dad, I’ll be the one to talk to him.”
“No need, mom. I want this. I said yes with all my heart. Promise, I’ll take good care of myself,” I convinced her.
“Okay. But if ever you need us or you decided to quit already, don’t hesitate to call us, alright?” She reminded me.
“Of course, mom.”
After making sure that all my things are already packed up, my dad accompanied me going to my new university. The dorm is already inside so it would be less of a hassle for me to walk going to my classes every day. My dad talked to the registrar and handed me a paper which states the rule inside the campus. He said that he’s no longer allowed to walk with me going to my dorm which I understood so we bid our goodbyes and I started to walk inside alone.
I expected the university to be filled with uncivilized people because of its reputation but I was surprised to see that the people here look so decent. The buildings are so good to look at and I guess, this university is already the prettiest school that I’ve ever been to.
While roaming around the area, I bumped with a girl who was so shocked because of what happened.
“I’m really sorry,” I apologized. I wasn’t looking at my way because I’m familiarizing with the buildings here so I accidentally hit her. She stayed quiet for a while just staring at my face. “Are you okay?” I asked.
“Yes, I am,” she answered. “Are you new to this university?” She asked. I don’t know what I looked like a while ago so maybe she noticed how amazed I was with the facilities of this campus.
“Yup!” I answered.
“This school is really nice at first,” she uttered. I guess she’s talking about the bad reputation of this school so she said that it was only nice at first.
“At least there’s still the nice part,” I chuckled after saying that. “You know what? I didn’t expect this school to be like this. I expected rallies and vandalisms but there’s none,” I told her.
“Because it’s part of the rules to avoid rallies and vandalisms inside the campus,” she explained. She then gestured for us to sit in the bench near us so I followed her.
“Where do the gang wars happen?” I asked in curiosity. I have read that students in this university are well-known for their gang wars so it’s really surprising to see no trace of anything associated with it.
“They’re always doing that on a private place. You know – old buildings, covered courts, et cetera et cetera,” she answered. I nodded as an answer because it already satisfied my curiosity.
When she noticed that I don’t have anything else to say, she then spoke again to introduce herself. “By the way, I’m Ice.”
“We’ve been talking about things but I haven’t introduced myself yet,” I shyly replied. “I’m Hans but you can call me Hell,” I introduced myself.
“Your nickname suits the reputation of this university,” she jokingly replied so we both laughed about it. “Where would you stay?” She asked.
“I’ll be staying at room 408 of the Eastwing Building,” I answered and I noticed how she suddenly changed her face after knowing that. “What’s wrong?” I curiously asked.
“That’s where some of the famous gangsters in this campus live,” she answered. I was already informed by my father about that so I’m not surprised anymore. “Anyways, I have to go now,” she bid goodbye before walking away from me.
I went back to finding my building so that I can already fix my room and rest. Good thing that it wasn’t that hard to locate my building because the mini map isn't that hard to follow. Once I arrived in our unit, a messy place welcomed me which didn't surprise me at all.
I decided to arrange the living room and picked up the trashes that are scattered all around the floor. Good thing that I already know how to do household chores because if I don’t, we’re all going to be sick with this kind of environment.
A guy suddenly walked by and saw me cleaning so I greeted him.
“Hi! Sorry for meddling with your things but I just want things cleaned up since I’ll be living here as well from now on,” I explained because he might think of me as a burglar who made his way to their room but I guess, even burglars won’t enter in this kind of mess.
Instead of replying, he just looked at me and without a word, he walked away.
Is this the kind of attitude that I should be expecting from these guys?
