SEVEN

Katie POV.

"Mommy where are we going?" I ask her, she never carries me around, not that I don't enjoy and like being carried around, but she doesn't do it too often, she says I'm getting too spoiled and should be able to walk on my own.

"We're going out," she answered me, but she didn't sound okay, she sounded very worried, I remember the guy in our class, he's William, the same guy that scared me to hell once upon a time, but now I'm a big bad vampire and I'm not one to be scared of him, and mommy is here with me, she'll keep me safe.

Mommy didn't like him, mommy scolded me and told me to come to sit down, I wanted to throw a tantrum but I didn't and I obeyed her for once, taking a seat in her place, I looked at the class and watched her move, worried and scared but she gave the class and then when it was time to leave, she picked me up and ran.

"Mommy, are we running?" I asked her as she got me sitting in my car seat, and she got in the driver seat, she took off the parking lot and sped away.

"Running? No we're not sweetie, it's just that the holiday is starting early," mommy assures me, but she should've waited until her day was over at least, she must have some more classes to teach.

"Okay," I say not sure if she means it for real, she's a badass vampire, so why is she running, I felt that I was slipping out of my headspace and to my big girl headspace, I might be around three hundred years now, but I don't feel too big.

"Hello," Mommy says and I turned to her, was she talking to me? But she had her phone on speaker, I looked at who she was talking to, but I had no idea who that number was.

"Good morning Eve, how are you?" I heard the voice of Uncle Logan.

"I'm just fine, do you mind if we pass by? I need your help with a thing," she says what kind of thing, what's she talking about.

"Of course, I'll be down at the school in an hour ot two," he says and mommy looks worried.

"No, Logan, I'll pass by the company, I need to talk to you in private," she says in a hurry.

"Okay, I'll tell my assistant to let you right in," he says and she needs the class, why do we need to see Uncle Logan though?

I didn't ask knowing she wouldn't answer me, she doesn't always answer, even when I'm big, she likes to keep things to herself, but I'll soon find out, I stayed quiet, I don't always have to whine or say anything to find things out, sometimes it's better to sit back and wait for the answers to come on their own.

We got toward the D&L company, the Dom and little company, although this world got all kinds of doms, the most famous one happens to be Dom and littles, maybe because the leaders have a tendency to be mommies and daddies? I wasn't sure but that's my number one theory.

We got toward Uncle Logan's office, my friend Angie was here most days, but some days her work was in the school or she was with her other daddy Hunter, but I loved spending time with her, three hundred years later and we're still good friends, I think it's normal for us to be a friend for our whole life, when you know someone for that long, you become friends for life, literally.

"Hello, Evelyn, kitten," Mia one of Logan's assistants says, Angel counts as one of his assistants too although she refuses to be called that.

"Hi Mia," I say with a smile on my face, I'm the kitten.

"He said you should go right in," Mia says still looking at me.

"Mommy," I whined, holding her hand not wanting to let go, worried she'd go in without me.

"Come on," she says and walks in, when I'm too small I don't speak or understand much, I become just a baby.

"Eve," Uncle Logan says getting up to welcome us into his office, she takes a seat pulling me into her lap, I pretended not to understand much, just to be sure what they were talking about and in hope she wouldn't be talking in codes.

"I need a big favour, Logan," she says.

"What kind of favours?" Logan says back sounding worried as well now.

"The one where I'm excused from my work, and I get Hunter to make me disappear for a bit," she says and I couldn't hide my shock, so I planted my face into her chest to avoid them seeing my face and my current expressions.

"Eve, is there someone bothering you? Do we need to call Dylan into this?" he asks her and I'm worried again.

"No, it can't be Dylan, I'm not hiding, I just need to get away," she says petting my head.

"Get away from whom? From what?" he asks us, and I listen to her answer carefully.

"I only need to get away from this life for a bit, we're tired of having the life of school kids, we've been living that for too long," she explains and I agree with her, that life was exhausting but it was ours.

"I can manage to get that set Eve, but what's the hiding factor for?" Logan asks and I wanted to ask her the same question, so who are we running from?

"I don't want people annoying me," she says with a smile on her face, I didn't have to look to see the smile, I could tell it was there and it was a fake one, the same smile she gave me when she's lying to me when she says things are fine but they aren't.

"Are those people the ones that are visiting the school?" he asks her, was it because William came over to the school, I don't like him either, and think it's better if we stay away from him, he might have been nice to me in the class, but I knew he wouldn't be too nice for too long.

"It's not like that Logan," she lies again, why is she so nervous, her leg started to move, and I knew she's very worried now.

"It's over with, you shouldn't be still worried about him," Logan says.

"I'm not worried about him, but I don't want to talk to him either," she says.

"Eve, you can't let what happened define your life," Logan says.

"Logan, we live and we learn it's our experiences that make us who we are," she says in a calm voice.

"Fine, but you can't be worried your whole life," he says.

"I'm not worried, I just want some time off," she says.

"I'll get your secret hiding place, let me call Hunter," Logan says with a sigh and then call his mate.

They talked for a bit before he said he needed a safe house for us and then asked if we wanted to go overboard, or behind the seas. Mommy said we didn't want our trail to be visible to anyone in case they decided to follow us. We decided to stay in the state, we're just going to move into one of the areas that are still being worked on getting clean, it's not the best vacation place, but being a vampire means we can't get hurt, and we can do some gardening to help the world, and I'd get to spend some time with some farm animals.

"Thank you for the help Logan, and Hunter," Mommy says getting up and carrying me along with her, she gets us back in the car and drives off, we stop at the mall, she gets me out and we get some clothes, vacation clothes, does it count as a vacation? Since we're running away? I wasn't sure but I'm counting it as one, we got food as well, food and supplies to stay for god knows how long we're staying in our getaway trip.

"Do you want to pick a stuffy or two?" she asks me as she was getting all the little supplies I needed, years back, I would've been blushing and trying to put the things back into their place, I was too shy about the fact that people saw what she was buying and they all could conclude that those things are meant for me, but now, after all those years, I'm okay-ish with it, I don't mind the fact that I have to use them, but I still blush over the fact that others especially other code see all the supplies she buys.

"Yeah," I say, going to get a couple of teddies, I picked some animal ones, it match the whole aesthetic of where we're going, I know Angel got a fox one, but foxes aren't farm animals, they kill them. Instead, I went with a sheep stuffy, there's a show that I watch on TV that's about a sheep called Shaun.

"Look mommy," I say showing off my pick.

"Oh it's a sheep like the one from your show," she says with a big smile on her face, that's why I love her so much, she remembers everything, and she pays attention to me.

"Mhm," I say happily, we paid for everything and went to our car, she loaded the stuff and then me, and she started the very long drive to the mystery farm that's going to be our home.

"Mommy," I whined after a bit, I couldn't stay sitting for that long, I'm bored.

"Yes?" she answers me.

"Bowed, me sit with you?" I asked her, hoping I could get out of the car seat.

"No, you can't baby," she says.

"Mommmyy..." I whined on the verge of tears, I hate sitting for too long in the car.

"No Kitkat, you're staying where you are, try to nap," she says and so I cried, tears usually work on getting her to do things for me, or at least to stop for a bit and let me move or get out of the seat for just a bit, but not today.
