Summary
Everyone got their doms, everyone got their happy ending, everyone but me...well, I wasn't alone either, but I didn't have everything I dreamt about. My name is Katie, I'm code blue, also known as a little, the world fell to the vampires, three hundred years ago, and I'm here to tell you my story. In the world of dom and little, what happened after the takeover? What about the ones who weren't as lucky at first? How long did it take for everyone to find their place.
ONE.
Katie POV.
"This is your last warning humans, the world has been taken over," that was the warning we got, the world was taken over, the world as we knew it was over and now it was time for the vampires to be in charge, and I was ready to dance with happiness, my life was miserable, all I had was my mom but she decided to marry one hell of a jerk we call my step-dad.
I was ready to give up my life, to tell the vampires to come and get me, but they didn't agree to that, my step-dad, had his shotgun ready to go out and save the whole world, I don't know what a shotgun would do against vampires, hasn't he ever read or heard legends about them? They don't die, not that easily, and not using simple fun.
"I'm out," I say going back to my room, he could go and try to save the world, I need to get some more sleep, I'm exhausted.
I'm only seventeen, but I never had a nice and peaceful life, instead, all I got was night work and school in the morning, I tried my best to stay in school, to get good grades, I was trying to get myself a better future, a better life, but that's not as easy as it sounds, I'm working full time, I'm working hard, but there wasn't much life anymore, there isn't many jobs to do, especially when u grow up poor and in a bad part of the city.
"You can't stay behind you idiot," my stepdad says and I shrugged as I kept walking toward my room, I can do whatever the hell I want and he could go to hell and say hello to satan once he gets down there.
"Watch me," I mumble as I fell headfirst on the bed, I was exhausted, I fell asleep and then woke up the next morning, I didn't mean to sleep that much, but with the whole warning going around and the vampires taking over, I didn't have any work late at evening, I only had to deal with my mom and her husband.
The first day without them was very peaceful, I was very glad about getting rid of them, I couldn't believe how annoying they two could be, but they were and with them gone, I could have a good life, a nice life with them gone. But the vampires had other plans, they asked all the humans to come out, to get out of their hiding and get in their busses, and my stepdad might be an idiot, correction he is one, but he knew well enough to know the vampires are bad news, and we should get away from them.
I didn't go when they said to do, I stayed home hiding, I had enough food and supplies and I preferred staying hidden, I was ready to stay like that for a year at least, my stepdad was a border, and we had food, a lot of food, they were worried about another nuclear war starting that they kept on having food around the house, enough food for the next apocalypse.
"This is your last warning humans, come out," I heard a voice say through a microphone, I went to my best hiding point, under my bed, it works with my stepdad and his late-night visits to my room.
"Humans, come out and we won't hurt you," they say, right the police never want to hurt us, but they broke my shoulder once and didn't care about my scream of pain.
I kept on hiding, I didn't come out, I stayed in my hiding point until I heard a gunshot, there goes them being nice and not hurting anyone, maybe we're the ones shooting, but who knows, I'm not going out to check. The gunshot kept going for about an hour, which was the longest the police had ever stayed in our neighbourhood, when the noise stopped and the yelling ended, I came out from underneath the bed and took my seat on top of the bed, that was scary, but it passed.
I heard some noise coming from inside my house, I jumped up, maybe it was one of my nice neighbours trying to steal some of my supplies, I got my trusty bat in my and went to check the noise, it was just near my front door, I stood behind the wall, keeping an eye on who's there, ready to strike and show them that this house was protected.
"Anyone here," the intruder says and I slap them with the bat as hard as I can.
"Hey, that's not nice," the guy says rubbing the back of his head where I just hit him.
"What are you doing in my house?" I ask him, ready to smack him again.
"I'm here to take you, love, now drop the bat," he says and I strike again, but he manages to hold the bat and pull it out of my hand, I screamed in fear and tried to run away.
He followed me, running after me, he caught me in less than three steps, he pulled me over his shoulder as if I were a sack of potatoes, he walked out of my place talking on a radio he had on his shoulder saying he got one.
"Tell me, love, how old are you?" he asked me and I screamed.
"If you don't stop screaming and answer me, I'm going to assume you're twelve and act that way," the guy says and that was embarrassing.
"I'm seventeen," I yell at him feeling offended.
"See, that wasn't that hard," he says walking toward vans that were waiting in the streets, he threw me in one of the vans closing the door behind him.
"Hey! Let me go!" I screamed but they didn't let me go, adding more people into my van, they drove us off, I had no idea where we were going, but they took us somewhere else.
The doors opened and I was dragged into a place that looked like a holding cell, I've been to a police station before, I knew the protocol, they'd keep me in until someone came to get me, and if my charge was too big, I'd get a public defender, but not this time, it was different, they were vampires and I had no idea what they plan on doing with us.
They offered us food, they offered us water, and we were treated well, except that the humans weren't that nice to each other, I tried to avoid them, and I knew how to act around the people who wanted to act like the bad guys.
"You come on, let's go," one of the guards says saving me from this place, being with the vampires was much better than staying here with them, at least the humans haven't hurt me yet.
"Where are we going?" I ask him, and he just shrugs.
"Please," I say and he sighs.
"Don't worry child, it's going to be okay, you're safe with us now," he says and I felt safer with them than I did in my mother's house.
He took me toward some kind of office, and in there was the vampire that was scaring me for months now, it was William, the same guy that was on TV.
"Hey, hey, I don't wanna go in," I say scared, wanting to get back out, but the guard pushes me in and closes the door behind him, locking me with the vampire.
"Let me out! Let me out!" I yell slamming the door trying to get out, the scary vampire says, getting up and coming toward me, scaring me even more.
"Hey it's okay little child," William says, petting my back, and I scream with fear.
"Are you done screaming now? I'm not going to hurt you," William asks and I nod, I was done screaming.
"Take a seat Katie, let's have a chat," he says and I do so, sitting down in front of him, the fear still there, I couldn't hold back my fear.
"Your mother, and your stepdad, they are both dead," he says and a small smile finds it way to my lips, I'm very happy about that, that's good news actually, I hate them both and wish them both to be dead and now they are.
"I see, it's good news for you, now I know you're a good girl who doesn't want to fight us, if you did come when we asked you to we wouldn't have to go through all of this," William says with a sigh and I kept looking at him like he's the scariest person alive.
"Why? What's going to happen to me now?" I ask him.
"Nothing, we're gonna send you to meet up with the rest," he says with a shrug.
"And then death?" I ask him with fear.
"No, if we wanted you dead you'd be dead by now," he says but I didn't believe him.
"Then what?" I ask him again, and he just sighs and clicks something on his phone, the same guard comes back to get me, and instead of being taken toward the cell, I was taken toward a car and driven off, I'm off to jail, I had the feeling that I'm off to jail.
We drove for way too long and I groaned with boredom, I always hated long drives, I hated sitting in the car for too long, I couldn't fall asleep since I was too worried about where I was going, the fear made the long drive even longer.
"We're almost there," he says trying to calm me down, but I was still worried, we moved past the forbidden zone and we got toward some kind of giant building that's not supposed to be there.
"I'm here for Victor," the guard says, is Victor the one who's killing me? Or was he the warden of the jail, this doesn't look like one.
"In you go," the receptionist says with a smile on her face, Victor was another vampire, a guy who looked like he ate puppies for breakfast, and burned kittens for fun, he was the second scariest person after William.
"I need you to fill this out," he says and I did due to my fear, I don't think I have read all the questions correctly, but I did. The next move was a doctor checking me out, and finally injecting me with something that had me falling asleep right away, I don't know what happened next, but the lights were off.
