Chapter 5

"I have been asking you to have a night with me and you have been denying, for you to come and ask me such a thing now?", he let out a devilish smile. She knew that he was not going to make things easier for her so she pleaded with him to help her solve her mother's issue but Axel looked at her with an untouched face.

Glimpsing that time was passing, she asked what he wanted her to do for him so that she could be able to get the money from him and Axel gave her a long stare and asked whether she was certain about her question.

"Yes, I am so tell me".

" I need a one-night stand with you".

Was Morgan going to be able to sell her dignity just to be able to save her mother?.

Her eyes illustrated how shocked she was by what Clark was asking of her but what else was she do but stand there and stare at him like some lost soul. In pain and confusion, she bit her lower lips and her hands shook as if she has been electrocuted.

"Mr. Hunter, what are you saying? Why will you want to have sex with me when I can work something out for the money that I will be owing you?". She asked with a heavy heart and seeing herself being caught up in between her dignity and her mother who was at the hospital.

" Are you taking the offer or not? I have other things to do with my to Morgan." Axel spoke out harshly not minding anything else, but when Morgan saw that she had no other alternatives and her mother's life was a stake, she had to do the needful, coupled with the pressure that he was mounting on her.

"Yes, I accept Mr. Hunter. Can I have the money now please?"

The desperate need for it, made him laugh at her loudly. He was being wicked and selfish nit above all, he was toiling with had emotions as well. He could see her dying need for the money, and it was an added advantage for him to do anything he wanted with her.

"Calm down Morgan, you do not need to be in a rush," Axel mumbled walking from behind the table to hers with his eyes looking all seductive but Morgan did not like the delay in his voice, she was already pissed off with his childishness and wickedness and there he was playing Mr romantic while her mother was dying at the hospital.

"I can see that you will not keep to your words and me, my mother is the most important person in my life. So I won't stand here and watch you play with me when I can just go give myself to someone else and have the money. Morgan's tone was a bit elevated which made Axel feel the pressure and anger in her time.

" Fine, you do not have to make me look like a devil. My driver will drive you tonight to one of my safe houses and be great assured that you will enjoy it."

"When do I get the money Mr. Hunter, time is passing." She pressed on some more and he said,

"The moment you are there with me, I will release the money to your mom's doctor and he will give you the confirmation."

With that being said, Morgan left his office with her face not being happy but she could not stand being around such a man. He was the worst human being she had ever met and in her heart, she hoped someday, he meets someone that will make him shed tears.

Stepping into the corridor, Morgan did not want to cry or do anything that will make her be questioned and since it was a Friday, she knew that the next day was not a workday, hence her friend Eva had to help her by all means.

"Hey, Morgan, how did it go?" Eva asked Morgan as soon as she saw him enter the piece but his lips were glued together and she had no idea of what to say to her.

"He is such a despicable human being Eva. I can not believe that I had to ask for help from someone like him." Morgan let out in tears not being able to hold it anymore.

Taking her friend into her arms, she found it difficult to further ask her any questions and Eva not minding whether she was at the office or not, had to console her friend. Sitting her down and asking if she needed a mug of coffee, Morgan nodded in acceptance and she left her there to go get one for her.

Rolling in his office, to Axel the amount was nothing as compared to the fun he was to have with Morgan amd with a smile that did not seem like it was going to leave his mouth soon, he was praising himself saying,

"I knew that a day like this will eventually come, where she will either accept me wholeheartedly or by force, and now my money is making a way for me. Aaaahh, Axel, you are going to have all that beauty and softness to you alone this night, and better pray that her boyfriend doesn't send her away." He mused about the situation hysterically.

The day had commenced well for him and all he wanted to do was to relax while waiting for the hour to come when he was going to enjoy himself. Chuckling and wiping off his chin, Axel heard someone come into his office and when he turned to see who it was, there was Brandon, his childhood friend amd business partner and he was surprised to see him smile so much when he was so mad at one of the employees some moments ago.

"You seem to be having mood swings these days eh!" He exclaimed looking all amazed as he dropped the file that he was holding on the table.

"Is it that obvious?"

"Spill it out, man. Which other babe are you meeting with tonight, because, we don't have any contracts for today." Brandon inquired picking up the candy that was on the table and Axel laughed out some more, he shook his head in shock, giving his friend that funny look that said,

"How can this man know me this much?"

"Will you speak or do you want me to come over there and choke the words out of your mouth?" Brandon was eager to know what was going on and Axel knew that if he didn't talk in the next seconds, he was going to get busted so he began talking about his deal with his secretary Brandon opened his eyes and mouth widely, he asked,

"Did she finally give in to your proposals?"

"Yes, she did," Axel responded with some kind of boldness and fulfillment which made his friend get up amd shake his hand in excitement.

"You are the man Axel." Brandon giggled in happiness. They were both happy in situations like that and he wanted to know everything.

"Man, her mother needs some sort of surgery and she needs money for it."

"What? No no no Axel, I do support you on this one." Brandon's mood had suddenly changed and that made Axel wonder what he meant by no.

Morgan was getting better and she found it difficult to explain the deal she had gotten with Axel. Drinking from the mug of coffee that her friend had given to her, she had stopped crying and was feeling better.

"Why are you crying if you have gotten a deal with Mr. Hunter?" Eva asked but she could not find anything tangible to tell her. Her head was all over the place and though she did not want to hide anything from her friend, that particular one was too big a bargain to be disclosed. It was not only shameful but it was also disgusting for any other ear to hear it.

"Morgan? Where is your mind? The boss already said he will give you the money for the surgery so why are you still like this friend? Did he say he will deduct everything from your salary?" She asked wiping her face and Morgan seeing it as a good reason, she nodded to it.

Eva felt so sorry for her again but there was nothing she could do at that time since she did not have as well. Telling Morgan not to be worried about anything and to focus on her mother's surgery for the moment, Morgan cleared her throat and with her lips trembling, she begged her friend if she could do her a little favor that night.

"Yes, I can dear. What do you want?" Eva inquired and Morgan, biting her lips, said,

"Can you watch over my mother tonight?"

The alarm on Evas' face, showed that she had millions of questions running through her mind like a wildfire.

"Is everything okay? Will you want to do something this night?" Eva asked staring at her seriously and Morgan, being caught up in gear as well as confusion, she said no but later said yes and her response only confused Eva the more. In wonder, she asked Morgan whether it was a yes or no and her facial expression had dropped immediately.

"I am sorry friend but I am not in any mood to reason right now. My head hurts and all I can see is a dark cloud over my head. I feel useless and more like an incompetent lady." She said with her eyes giving out some tears but Eva not wanting her to shed some more tears, told her not to worry about anything because she was going to take care of her mom for her while she goes out there and make sure that she does what she has to do since it is important.

"Thank you so much, Eva, I knew that you will not let me down."

Eva was not still convinced about the excuse that Morgan had given to her for staying out that night but she was aware of something caller privacy. Morgan was going through a lot at that time and they both had the principle of respecting each other's moods and worries till the person is ready to talk about it.

"I think I have to go now, Eva. We will talk this evening after your work."

"Are you sure you will be fine? I hope Mr. Hunter won't take this as an excuse to relieve you of your duties," Eva spoke out but Morgan, not minding about what might happen later, all she needed was a means of getting her mother to good health as well as doing the right thing after that which was to start getting a new job because she had no idea on how to start looking at him again after that incident.

Just as they were still talking, one of their colleague, passed by and gave them a dead glance which made morgan to be scared for Eva. Telling her friend that she had to go before their boss gets out to scold her, Eva nodded and took out some money from her purse and handed it over to her to take a taxi or a bus back home.

The tears that were in Morgan's eyes, following her pal's action was dropping down but Eva gave her a tight hug, she asked her not to cry anymore, and to make sure that her mother does not catch sight of her in that manner if not it was only going to bother her the more.

"I will try to dry up my tears."

"Good girl. Now go back and take care of yourself, okay?"

"You too."

"No, I can't buy that Axel. Why will you do something like this as though you have no conscience?"

"Hey, bro calm down. Why will you be bashing me like this?" Axel in confusion asked his friend as he had never seen him so sensitive before but Brandon stood up from his seat, he told him that using her mother's predicament as an excuse to impose that kind of situation on her was not called for.
