CHAPTER 7

Subtitle: WHEN ARE WE GETTING MARRIED.

(Loving you wasn't part of the deal)

Arianna drove down the highway heading to Mason's apartment.

"Oh gosh, I'm already late, I hope he doesn't get angry. " She mentally thought.

She had a very tight schedule at work today, being the CEO of A&G industrial corporation wasn't an easy task.

Few minutes later, Arianna was already at his apartment.

She honked her car, and the gate was opened by the gate man.

She drove in, then she parked her car properly in the garage. She came out from her car.

"Good morning ma'am." The gate man greeted her.

"Morning Thomas." She replied.

She turned the door knob and it opened.

She met him smoking and drinking a bottle of whiskey.

"Babe, I told you to stop smoking and drinking right? It isn't good for your health." She said and Mason scoffed.

"What took you so long?" He said , ignoring her question.

"I'm sorry babe, I had a lot of things to do today." She replied.

"That's what you always say, do I have any importance to you?" Mason said and he stood up to leave .

Arianna immediately rushed to him and she hugged him from behind.

"I'm sorry babe, I promise to make it up to you." She pleaded.

"You promise?" He turned to face her.

"Yes." She smiled and she pecked him on his cheek.

Mason scoffed. "I don't believe you."

Mason sat on the couch and she sat on his lap.

"Don't be like that babe, I said I'm sorry." She kissed his lips.

Mason smiled, he loves the feeling of being important. Arianna is always ready to do anything for him.

"I love you." Arianna "I love you too baby .

" Mason said and he slammed his lips on her.

Arianna parted her lips, giving him more access, as he kissed her, his hands went to her laps, romancing her.

She suddenly broke the kiss , she hated the taste of the drink and smoke from his mouth.

"Not now please." She said and she stood up from his laps.

"Why?" Mason said, quite angry.

"Babe, don't you think it's high time we get married?" She said,

"Not again Arianna, I told you I'm not ready for marriage now, the engagement ring on your finger already proved you're mine." Mason explained.

"No, it doesn't, I want to get married just like every other lady, we've been engaged for three years now." She half yelled.

"Don't you dare raise your voice at me." He warned.

"I'm sorry babe." She quickly apologized.

"You know I love you right? you shouldn't be worrying about marriage." Mason said and he leaned over to kiss her but she moved backwards.

"I want to get married, stop all these." She made to go upstairs but Mason pulled her back to himself.

"I want you baby." He said. She scoffed.

"Leave me be Mason." She said,

"For months now you've refused me making love to you, why?" He said.

"Do you even need to ask me that, Mason?" She said.

"What do you mean by that?" Mason replied, letting go of her.

"Take this off my finger Mason." She said, showing him the engagement ring on her finger. "I don't want an engagement ring Mason, I want a wedding ring, take this away." Arianna said. Mason sighed.

She was literally trying to keep her voice down, when all she wanted was to yell at him right now.

"Why do you keep on talking about this Ari? How many times are we going to have this same conversation?" Mason said angrily.

"Do you care about me Mason? Do you care about my happiness?"

"You know I do Ari, and I already explained everything to you, I'm not ready for marriage now Ari, please, just be a little more patient, we'll definitely get married soon." He said, taking her hand in his.

"Haven't I been patient enough Mason? Tell me, for the past three years I've been patiently waiting for you Mason, many of my friends got married, but I kept on waiting for you, and now, some of them even mock me to my face."

"Please Mason, let's just get married already, we love each other, so what more are we waiting for? Is it money?" Arianna cried.

"Ari, please listen to me." Mason said, wiping off her tears.

"We're definitely going to get married."

"When?"

"When will that be Mason? Next year? In two years time? Or it'll never happen?"

"Babe, please don't say that." Mason said, then he pulled her into a hug.

"I promise you this Ari, soon, we'll have our wedding, and it's going to be a blast, it'll be the talk of the town for weeks, even months." Mason said. Arianna chuckled. "Just be a little more patient with me babe, please." Mason said. Arianna raised her head to look at him.

"Okay babe, you know I love you right." She smiled.

"And I love you more." Mason replied.

"One more thing." Mason said.

"What?"

"Don't ever listen to what people say alright, you shouldn't let their words get to you, you know how people are, they'll definitely talk, even if it's none of their business, deep down, they might actually be jealous of our relationship, how strong our bond is, so don't ever let their words get to you."

"I understand babe, you're right." Arianna smiled.

"Good, that's my girl." Mason said, then he pulled her into a hug.

Arianna still had the smile on her face, she truly wished to get married to Mason as soon as possible, but she was willing to give him some more time, after all, she was madly in love with him , and she'll do anything for him.

Next Morning

Lillian woke with a splitting headache, she slowly sat up,using both hands to massage her temple.

She realized Milo wasn't in the room, and this caused her to frown.

She furrowed her brow as she tried to remember what happened yesterday, and slowly, the whole memory came rushing to her.

"What should I do about you Milo? " She thought.

"I'll need to do something about this, and I'll need to do it fast."
