Chapter 3

They drag her human body to the village she visited almost every day. Leah observes her surroundings, noticing the way they all look at her as if they despise her for being different.

She lowers her gaze when someone throws a shawl over her back to cover her naked body. But she doesn't care. She grew up naked in the forest. Why should she care if they saw her naked?

They were wolves, free to roam as they pleased.

She is taken to the center of the village. Leah can only look at her filthy feet while someone holds her down and forces her to stand up straight. There were too many wolves for her to handle alone, and she was easy to catch.

She was careless to continue spying on that man.

It was all her fault.

"Alpha," she says, lowering her gaze further when she hears the leader of the pack being called. She wonders if it is that man. "We found the thief. It was all this puppy's fault."

They push her toward the man, but she can only look at his shoes.

"Look at me." Leah didn't want to look at or talk to him. "Where are you from? Why are you stealing food from my pack?" Belial frowned when he noticed that she didn't say a word. However, he did notice her ragged appearance, as well as the white spots on her skin and in her hair.

"She doesn't speak, Alpha. We forced her to talk when we caught her, but she didn't tell us anything. She's very aggressive. She attacked three of our own.”

Belial keeps his gaze on her and brings his hand to her chin, helping her look up. When he looks into her eyes, he narrows his gaze and realizes that they are a beautiful, striking lilac color, the color of an albino wolf's eyes.

“What's your name?” They stare at each other, forgetting the rest of the world.

"Leah," she replies in a whisper, bringing a slight smile to the Alpha's lips.

"She's a thief, Alpha. She deserves to be punished for stealing our food.” Besides, look at her. She's a hybrid. You can smell it.”

But the Alpha didn't care. That wild, disheveled young woman was the mate he had always been waiting for. She was his moon. Curiously, after waiting so long, she turned out to be one of the moon goddess's many daughters.

A half-breed!

However, he couldn't forget who he was or his duty to his pack. He stood up straight and turned away to leave her behind.

Leah blinked at the man's rejection. He was like all the others. He hated her for being different.

Maybe it was best that he rejected her. Everyone did. Why would he be any different? She lowered her shoulders, feeling broken inside. For a moment, she had thought that something would change.
