Red Eyes

She breathed deeply as she sat up, resting her back on the bed elevation behind her, her heart beating rapidly. It was different this time around, Kylan's red eyes had never been in the picture, why now?

She stood up and walked to the mirror, staring at herself. Her eyes were red and wet like she had brought the tears to reality.

She sighed deeply cleaning them with her hands as she sat on the chair, beside her table, opening her books. She heard her phone beep and she picked it up immediately, checking the message.

"Asleep?" It was Beetle and she chuckled slowly.

"No." She replied and pressed sent.

"That's cool. It's not too late to grab snacks right." Beetle replied with an hungry emoji and Leviana laughed shortly.

"What restaurant?" She sent and stood up, picking her sweatshirt as she left the room.

"Where are you headed to? It's almost 8." Noel asked as he saw her coming downstairs.

"Just Beetle's place. I'll be back in about thirty minutes." She said.

"Hey, be safe. Watch out for rogues." He said behind her.

"Okay!" She demonstrated with her hands, leaving the house.

Another message came in and it was the restaurant Beetle wanted them to grab something. Leviana was about to reply when her phone suddenly went off and she realized she didn't charge it before dozing off.

"Oh my God." She sighed, pocketing it as she headed towards the restaurant.

"Hey, Bee!" She waved at Beetle and Beetle smiled, rushing to her immediately.

"Gosh, I feel so hungry and I can't even bear to tell my mom. I'm eating a lot lately." She clicked her tongue as she held Leviana's hand.

"Maybe you are pregnant?" Leviana chuckled, getting a seat.

"Is this something that accompanies the wolf changing? I mean we'll be eighteen in about two weeks and I think that's what's triggering this." Beetle pursed her lips. Leviana nodded slowly as she ordered noodles from the nearby waiter.

She felt a little bit nervous about getting her wolf and it was a very common thing, like her parents and Noel had told her. Everyone felt nervous about getting their wolves. Leviana didn't want to anticipate it due to her fear but she was also still anxious and couldn't wait for the days to rush by.

It would be a memorable day and she wondered what color her wolf would be and what name it would have. Helen, maybe? Or Sasha?

"I can't wait for it." Beetle breathed out too, thinking about the same thing. Beetle's would actually get her wolf few days before Leviana's since she was older than Leviana with some days, though they were the same month.

"Your wolf would be perfect." Leviana muttered. She knew Bee's wolf would be someone who matched her positivity and energy and she would actually be happy if Beetle got her long time crush, Davis but it might not be as beautiful as Beetle thought. Life with bullies weren't so perfect.

"What are you thinking about? Kylan?" Beetle suddenly said and Leviana choked, coughing repeatedly as the noodles got stuck in her throat. Beetle quickly passed her a cup of water immediately.

"What do you mean by thinking of Kylan? That's stupid." She muttered after taking a lot of water.

"But you almost died cos of that stupid reasoning?" Beetle said weightfully and Leviana rolled her eyes.

"You've read way too many novels, Bee." She said.

"You saved his life, he almost strangled you. You care about his health, he's sorry and thankful at the same time, you invited him to lunch, he accepted. You're disobeying your brother by associating with him and Kylan feels fine with that. The signs are all there." Bee rolled her hands.

"It's just been like four days. I haven't even spoken to him for two days." She muttered under her breath.

"Yeah, right. And that's because you pass somewhere else when you notice he's coming." Beetle smirked.

"Well..." Leviana shrugged, rolling her noodles on the fork repeatedly, "the thing is I'm trying to listen to Noel. You know, that guy hasn't recoverd his memory, what if he's really a rouge? Then that would mean my life is at risk and he's also keeping tabs on my brother, I can't even bear to tell him that. Jupiter also hates him and you aren't exactly comfortable with him either and me, I just...uhm..he strangled me... almost to death..."

"That's what you just say to escape from the reality." Beetle nodded slowly.

"You don't..."

"I know you are not in love with him, duur. But..." Beetle smirked.

"You definitely are curious about him." She winked.

"I am. Seeing him in the forest piques my curiosity and I wonder what kind of guy of his."

"Also, why no one has reported him missing."

"Do you think he's from the rival pack?" Leviana suggested and Beetle sneered.

"Never!" She muttered.

"They are the only ones who would never come to us even if their pack is wiped out." Leviana said and Beetle nodding in agreement.

"I just hope he's not. I'll hate him forever." She stabbed her steak and Leviana rolled her eyes.

"You shouldn't hate someone because of their pack, learn that!" She said and Beetle scoffed.

"Whatever!" She muttered.

Leviana sighed as Beetles turned the other way, going home after waving her goodbye. Now she was left on her own to walk home. She sighed looking at the stars and smiled when she saw how pretty they looked shining up there.

"Star?" She suddenly muttered and chuckled lightly, thinking it was a perfect name.

The darkness seemed to be friendly at times, but whenever it was in her dreams, it felt scary. She loved it outside at dark night but she wished she could just find some closure at times when she was drwaminyor permanently stopped dreaming at all.

She sighed kicking the stones of the pathway and suddenly she tripped, falling down as she bruised her knees badly.

"What the heck?" She muttered, getting up as she dusted of her clothes. Her gash still had a tiny scar and she sighed, clicking her tongue as she watched the wound cover up slowly.

Suddenly, her mind went back to the gash that day and she wondered why it didn't heal up instantly.

"What was that?" She muttered, scoffing as she took a step but something suddenly passed by her, into the forest.

Leviana turned immediately, feeling the eyes all over again in the darkness. She felt the fast motion pass by her and she turned following it immediately. A pack was more like a forest since they were wolves and a forest was the best place for habitation but sometimes, it wasn't too good to go in to deep but Leviana was past all that as she ran fastly, following the terror in her dreams.

She was determined to find out exactly what she had lost, what memory had disappeared, what secret that had happened and no one had an idea of, the ownere of the unseen eyes following her all around and why Kylan's eyes has showed up in that brief moment at the ending of her dream.

Suddenly, she saw the red eyes and she stopped, a sharp deafening sound passing through her brain.

"Ahh!" She held her head tightly, falling to the ground in pain. It was the time where she was suppose to stop trying and give in to unconsciousness but she didn't, she proved further, into the depth of her memories, trying to unlock the hidden secrets of her life. The secrets left unseen and yet tortured her every night and day. The secrets that brought out the deep fears in her. In that dark moment, she heard another groan not far away from her and her eyes opened.

"Kylan...."
