Chapter 10
“It’s okay, Tita Aivi. Chain might just not understand my explanation. I’ll do better next time,” Ten said politely. The nerve of this guy to act like he was getting bullied by her and you think you are too smart to act like that! Wow. Just wow. Chain could not really take this man. How could he act like… like that ?!
“You’re not at fault, son. It's just that Chain is sometimes stubborn. ”
Chain almost closed his eyes especially as Ten's gaze focused on him. His face was so soft and gentle she almost got fooled by it — if not for the mischievous glint she caught in his eyes.
“I just had a headache earlier, Ma. I fell asleep so I could not return to Ten, ”he lied.
“Be sure to study tomorrow. Embarrassing to Ten. He is the one who gives favors… ”
She rolled her eyes. "Yes, Ma." He glared at Ten as he raised an eyebrow. "Why did you take Ten as my tutor, Ma?"
"Ten's grades were high during his first year of college," said Third. Well, there is nothing less than two, ”he replied.
Chain was left behind. So what if Ten's grades are high? He can do that too if he takes it seriously. Maybe.
"I'm home."
At the same time, they turned to their sister, Aina, who had just returned home. This was followed by Third who seemed even more surprised to see Ten.
"Brother Third," Ten greeted the man.
"You are here."
"I'm Chain's tutor," he said then pointed to her.
Third's eyes immediately turned to him. "Good evening, Chain," he said smoothly. It was as if his voice was caressing her. It's nice to hear. The taste in the ear.
"Good evening, Kuya Third."
"Have you eaten yet, Aina, Third?" said his mother.
“Not yet, Ma. We have a project to do that needs to be submitted tomorrow. ”
"Eat before that."
Third sat down next to him. Chain is restless especially since his ultimate crush is so close. None of his own looked at Ten. The corner of his lip was slightly raised as if mocking while looking at him.
"Are you having problems with your course, Chain?" that voice of Third aroused his stare at Ten.
Argh! Here was her ultimate crush, sitting beside her, but her focus was on Ten? Something was wrong with her, seriously.
"Not really…" she trailed off. He winced at his own lie.
“If you need help—”
“That’s why she has a tutor, Third. You’re all babying her, ”said Ate Aina then laughed as if something was funny about what she said. Is it a joke that he should laugh too? How much?
“I’m just saying—”
“It’s okay, Kuya Third. Ten is there. ” He almost frowned because of that. Yuck.
"If you say so."
Chain ate quietly while his companions talked at the table. He only moves when he talks. Her parents were praising Ate Aina for her position in the tennis club as well as her outstanding grades. While he? Agreed, it's just like residue.
