CHAPTER 1

Eighteen months later....

Sabrina stood gazing out at the window of their new home that she shares with her husband Craig Rogers,she hasn't been in Manhattan for a year during her nine month pregnancy she never stayed with him after their private wedding ceremony she had taken her things and left.She'd spent nine months alone far away from here and the busy lifestyle of New York away from all the reporters and whatever else it had to offer,if she could change her life and live somewhere else with her seven month old son she would,she never did like to live in the public eye where everyone knows her business.

When Leo had been three months old Craig had demanded she come home because they had made an agreement before their wedding.Sabrina had had a contract drawn up for them she was only agreeing to the marriage because of her family nothing else she would stay by his side like a dutiful wife and carry out all her duties as a wife but she wouldn't sleep with him or share his bed and although Leo is carrying his name which is only on paper he shouldn't act as if Leo is his son because he isn't,Sabrina had thought he wouldn't sign the documents but to her surprise he had.

Now here she was under one roof with a man she doesn't like in these four months since they've been home her mother has passed away her mother's passing had been too much for her father that he suffered a heart attack now her dad is in a wheelchair and paralyzed from the waist down he's been living with them Sabrina welcomed his presence she doesn't know what she would've done if he hadn't been here at least he reminds her of why she was here sometimes she feels like taking her things and go,to live a life with her son far away from here but when she looks at her father she can't do that what will happen to him if she goes who will take care of him if she left her sister couldn't care less about what happens to their father she had made that clear when their father had his heart attack.She moved away from the window when she heard Leo on the baby monitor her son was awake and probably hungry too,she made her way to his room.Every time she looks at him guilt eats her up for not telling Alessandro the truth about his son but whenever Sabrina sees him on tv with his latest girlfriend or read the gossip blogs than that guilt washes away he's forgotten about her.

Forgot their short fling whereas she thinks about it every night,every time she holds Leo her thoughts go back to their brief time together.Lifting him out of his crib she sat down and fed him his bottle he began sucking immediately. He's very successful Sabrina has read online he was into construction and mining he came from having nothing to becoming the most successful business man ever he has two sisters,his father had married a woman when Alessandro had been ten she couldn't find anything about his biological mother and she finds that strange.

He was originally from Spain but moved to Manhattan five years ago because of his company Serrano Industries it was growing and becoming successful by the second they've recently opened new headquarters in New York,he's more wealthier than Craig everyone respected the ground the man walked on he's worshiped by all and every smart business man wants to do business with him except for her dearest husband. Sabrina wonders why Craig hates him he has nothing good to say about Alessandro she knows that Craig can't stand the fact that there's a man who's better than him,who does things by the book and doesn't have to bribe or threaten people to get what he wants.

He despises Alessandro for his achievements and how far he's come,just because he has more money and his business is striving by day her husband can't stand it she actually dreads the day if he learns Alessandro is Leo's father.Putting Leo's bottle down she got up and rubbed his back so he could burp she spun around when she heard his nursery door open,it was Craig he hardly comes into Leo's room she wonders what he wants now.

"I've been looking for you."He said without coming inside.

"What do you want Craig."She asked irritation clear in her voice.

"To remind you not to forget about the charity event tonight."

She wasn't in the mood to go anywhere."Go without me."She said lying Leo down again.

"I wasn't asking Sabrina call Annie to look after Leo don't forget our agreement you will be by my side whenever I'm gonna need you to be."

"How can I when you remind me every chance you get.Anything else you'd like to remind me of."

"Be ready by eight and do make yourself beautiful I want the men not to be able to take their eyes off you."Sabrina didn't even respond she only sighed deeply as he closed the door and left,she wished her father could've turned to any man for help except this one.After making sure Leo was okay she went to her own room and called Annie she's Leo's baby sitter afterwards she went to check on her father downstairs in his room.

"Dad."She said opening the door.

"Is everything alright Sabrina."

"Yes I only came to see how dad is doing."She sat down next to him on the bed.

"I'm fine.Don't worry about me,when last did you hear from your sister."

"It's been a while she doesn't answer my calls anymore."Ever since she married Craig Taylor hasn't spoken to her despite numerous attempts from Sabrina reaching out to her.

"Give her time she'll come around.She's your sister."

"A sister who hates me at this moment because I married a man she likes."

"Taylor is where she is due to her own actions Craig would've never married her all because of her behaviour,what man would.I blame myself too maybe if I've been a better father she wouldn't have been where she is now."

"No dad don't blame yourself Taylor made her own choices you tried to help her she pushed you away I guess she has her own stuff to deal with."

"Where's my grandson?"

"I just put him to bed."She answered with a smile.

"He's growing up so fast.Are you ready to talk to me."Her father asked.

"Talk about what dad."

"Leo's father."

"Dad..."She started.

"You my daughter Sabrina I know you and I know Craig isn't Leo's father."

She gave a nervous smile."He is dad,what makes dad think such a thing."

"I can give you a whole list of reasons are you ready to hear them."

She doubts."Dad now isn't the time I have to get ready for tonight's charity event I only came to greet you for the night."

"For a father he's very unloving towards Leo he's never even held Leo or spend time with him.He's distant and one look at Leo one can tell he doesn't look like any of you and from Craig's behaviour I'd say he knows."

"Dad please,not now."

"Do I know him?Do you love the man is that why you had been so against marrying Craig ."

"No it wasn't anything serious between us dad I don't love him by the time I found out I was pregnant with Leo we had already gone our separate ways he didn't want kids,Leo's dad isn't the type that can commit or have time to raise a child so I kept quiet and married Craig,he might not be his but everyone thinks he is."

"So you never gonna inform him."

"I will when I have the heart to do it."

"He needs his father honey give him a chance to decide if he wants to be a father or not.Don't make that choice for him."

Sabrina only nodded if she can do that she'll expose and put her son at risk and she cannot do that she can't give Craig more ammunition that he can use against her it's bad enough that he dislikes Alessandro she can't let him use Leo against his own father,leaning forward she kissed her dad."I'll see you tomorrow.Have a good night."

"You too."Sabrina headed back up to her room if only certain things could be so easy she loves her son and would do anything for him and putting him in harms way wasn't one of them.This was her secret to bear if either Craig or Alessandro finds out the truth the only one who would be caught in the cross fire would be Leo she can't allow that to happen no matter what happens.
