Mom's memorial

His voice ran shivers down her spine and she felt the air got colder the moment she looked up at him again.

"Well, isn't that what you are?" She was not someone to be rudely spoken too. She was the daughter of the most prosperous businessman in Italy.

"A fvcking pervert...now get out!!" She shot, her hand flying towards the direction of the door.

Valentino was about to speak again when someone suddenly ran inside the room.

"Boss, she escaped." He said.

Valentino sighed as he licked his red lips, fixing his hands into his hair.

"Get the manager." He said instead and gave Jasmine one blank look before leaving the restroom.

"What was that?" Jasmine muttered and sighed, as the air in the room went back to normal and her chills disappeared. She looked back at the mirror and hissed.

"Look, I'm sweating badly." She clicked her tongue.

----

Valentino got into the black car waiting directly at the entrance of the mall. How dare she escape with his drugs? With just a flick of his finger, he could easily find her, yet she choose escape? Why the hell does she want to make things hard for herself?

"Boss, should we track her down?" The man at the driver's seat asked.

"Davis, what's the date?" Valentino asked instead, his voice low and husky. His face hardened like he was so annoyed by something. He was.... anyway. Who was that rude bitch in the restroom that just had to spoil the rest of his day? How he had just so savored today and expecting the long awaited night to arrive, she had to ruin his mood? Now he was so angry and she had no idea whose night was about to take the aggression.

"The lady in the restroom....get her information." He said slowly, picking his words one by one.

"Okay sir."

"It's 6:45 pm, Davis. We should move, it's almost time." He muttered and Davis nodded, jerking the car to life.

-----

"Gosh, you should have seen how scary he looked. But anyway, I could overcome that. My response was fire." Jasmine said excitedly, feeling proud of herself.

"Exactly, Jasmine. I hope your responses for the rest of this night would be fire also." Isabella said as the brought the car to a stop in front of Jasmine's house.

"I want good news by tomorrow." She said and Jasmine nodded, waving goodbye as she got off the car. Isabella waved back, driving off almost immediately.

As Jasmine took her things in, she wondered why she had not received a call from Marco yet. How could he not call his girlfriend and ask her about her journey? What a sucker! She clicked her tongue, deciding not to call him too, until she couldn't take it longer and that was a long long way to go.

Skyler ran towards her the moment he noticed it was Jasmine.

"Ma'am." He gasped while keeping his voice low.

"What are you doing here?" He asked, taking her travelling bag.

"Skyler, don't I deserve a welcome?" Jasmine said, pursing her lips.

"I'm sorry ma'am. Welcome back. I'm just so afraid your father would throw a fit and ask you to go back." He said. Skyler was one of their long time worker. He had actually been here ever since he was a kid and Jasmine regarded him as a friend, even though they couldn't relate openly.

"Hmm, he won't be. My father would be in a very sober mood tonight." She said as she walked into the house. The large mansion was lit very brightly, even at night.

She gave Skyler a friendly pat and asked him to leave when she noticed her father was heading downstairs, where she was. Skyler left immediately, not wanting to get inside a father-daughter argument.

"Dad!!" Jasmine grinned immediately he appeared downstairs and jumped towards him for a hug.

"Jasmine?" He muttered as he hugged her tightly.

"I missed you so much." She muttered and her father was about to speak when he suddenly realized.

"Jasmine, what are you doing here? You are not supposed to be here." He shot.

"Well, I want to. I know you miss me too." She shot.

Sterling was about to reply sharply but he decided against it quickly.

"Jasmine, I'm just trying to keep you safe. You can take a private jet and go back now." He said, holding her shoulders firmly.

"Keep me safe from what, dad? I'm old enough to protect myself. I'm no longer a child, you know that, right?" She said and Sterling sighed.

"I do, but...."

"I just wanted to have mum's memorial with you." She muttered slowly, her eyes brimming with tears. Sterling sighed slowly and drew his daughter into a deep hug.

"Fine. But you leave in a week." He said finally.

"Dad..."

"Shhh. We'll talk about this later. Let's have the memorial now." He said and she took a deep breath, nodding slowly. She would find a way to convince him eventually.

The space was already arranged, a special room for her mom. Flowers surrounded her large frame were she could be seen clearly. No doubt, Jasmine looked a lot like her mum. That was the source of her being pretty.

A tear dropped from her eyes as she knelt down slowly. She wasn't crying because she missed her mum...no ...she had been dead for a long time. She was crying because she could see the emotions in her father's eyes, a look of longing, like he wished to meet her.

"Dad...." The sound of her voice was sharply interrupted by the sound of a bullet.

Jasmine's scream was heard, followed by Sterling, jumping up on his feet. He covered her mouth immediately, dragging her to a inner room which was attached.

"Dad, what's happening?" She whispered.

"Jasmine, whatever happens from here onwards, don't come out! Don't. Come. Out." He said, making sure she heard the words before closing the door gently.

Right before the two doors met, Jasmine could see her father, bundled out by two men in suits. They didn't look like the usual men who visited when she was on holidays. She was the only one who saw them, as her father made sure she stayed in her room till they left.

These men in suits, they look dangerous and evil. Like they were here...to kill.
