CHAPTER 8

Manik's POV

I called Cabir and Ritvik to my room. I wanted every little detail about Nandani, her family, her father's background. Why does a local gangster want Nandani, I was confused. How does a businessman know a local gangster?

I came out of my thoughts when Cabir & Ritvik came to my room.

"What's Up, Bro?" Cabir asked.

"Cabir, Nandani has gained consciousness. Your wife has said that her BP has dropped. Could you please send lunch and electrolyte for her?" I asked.

"Yes I will do that but you have to tell me first, what has happened to you?" Cabir asked smiling.

" What has happened to me?" I asked confusingly.

"The heartless monster is caring for someone. Have you fallen for that girl, Nandani?" Cabir asked.

"Shut up Cabir. It's nothing like that.", I said irritably.

"Is it?" he asked looking at me. "Manik I know you, more than you know yourself"

"Is it, Cabir?" I asked folding my arms on my chest.

"Yes, and I am sure, your heart is going to betray you and you will fall for that girl. Manik sometimes you have to take the risk of falling in love once again. Maybe, this time love won't fail," Cabir said smiling.

"Oh Cabir, please stop giving these philosophical lectures on Love, and please send food for her," I replied.

"I will take the food myself to her room. So you don't need to worry about her," he said with a wink and left from the room.

"Do come back, I need to talk to you," I told and he replied, yes leaving from the room.

Ritvik was also about to leave the room.

"Oh hero, where are you going. Did I ask you to leave?" I asked him.

"Manik, your intentions don't seem to be good", He said dramatically.

"This is the reason, you are still single. Girls think you are gay because of these actions you do," I replied laughing and he made a sad pout.

"Now stop your drama and listen to me carefully----", I said and Ritvik pulled his ears.

"What are you doing man, your ears will get detached and come in your hand," I said laughing.

"Bro, you said to listen carefully, so I am listening to you carefully", he said.

"Ritvik, can you be serious ever?", I asked.

"Okay, I am sorry," he said. "I am serious now. Tell me, Your Highness, what can I do for you?"

"I want every minute details about Nandani and her family. Particularly her father. I want to know how does her father knows Dakran?"

"I will try to get all the details," Ritvik replied and left the room. I got a text message from Dakran. He had sent me his location. I called Dhruv to my room.

"Yes Manik, you called me?" Dhruv asked.

"Yes, Dhruv I have forwarded you Dakran's location. I want you to go there with our men and bring him to our mansion after checking him thoroughly," I ordered and he left the room to carry out my orders.

I went to the living room when Cabir came running downstairs, panting and sweating profoundly.

"What is wrong with you man?" I asked.

"That ant is not an ant--", Cabir said panting heavily.

"She is a tigress I know that, tell me what did she do now?" I asked.

"She is going to kill me if I show my face to her again," Cabir replied. "She hates me for kidnapping her."

"Cabir, can you call your wife downstairs?" I asked.

"Is everything alright", He inquired.

"Do as I say"

"Yeah okay", He replied and asked the servant to call Navya. In a few minutes, Navya came downstairs.

"Yes, Cabir? You called me?", Navya asked.

"Baby, Manik wants to talk to you", Cabir replied.

"Tell me quickly, why have you called me?", Navya asked bluntly.

"I want you to ask Nandani, whether she knows Dakran?" I said.

"Who is Dakran? Look, Manik I told you that her BP has dropped. Until she is perfectly fine, I won't ask her anything nor will I permit you to question her", Navya replied. She turned back and was about to go to the room but she stopped in midway.

"One more thing, Cabir, and Manik. Dare you try to hurt that girl", Navya told angrily. I was angry, how could she threaten me?

"Mrs. Dhawan, it's none of your business what I do with that girl. Your only work is to treat her until she is fine," I told angrily.

"You know what Manik, you are a heartless man. Your sister suffered for your bad deeds. She died because of your deeds", Navya yelled at me.

I removed my gun and pointed at her.

"Pull the trigger? What are you waiting for? The truth is always bitter Manik", she said.

"Manik, please put the gun down. I am sorry on her behalf", Cabir told joining his hands.

We heard the screeching of the tires and one of our men came running.

"Boss Dakran has arrived and he saw that girl Nandani," he informed.

"How did she run from the room?" Cabir asked.

"Cabir, we will ask her this later. Come let us greet him," I told winking.

We went outside the mansion.

"Welcome to my Kingdom Dakran", I told smiling. Nandani turned back and was shocked to see me.

"Wow Manik, you are indeed a man of your words. Take the weapons and drugs; and hand over that girl to me", Dakran said looking at Nandani lustily.

"First show me the weapons and drugs and then the girl is all yours", I replied pulling Nandani close to me.

Dakran handed me those bags and I unzipped them. I found drugs in the first bag while the other bags had all the new riffles in them.

"So can I take this girl now?", Dakran asked tracing his long fingers on Nandani's jawline. Nandani pushed his hand away.

"It would be fun to tame, a stubborn girl like you", Dakran said laughing evilly.

His intentions don't seem good.

"Cabir takes these bags and Nandani inside the mansion", I said holding Nandani's hand and passing her to Cabir.

"Manik what are you saying, didn't we make a deal that if I hand over the drugs and new arms to you, you will give that girl to me?" Dakran asked.

I put my hands in my pocket and started whistling. I was just waiting for Cabir to take Nandani inside the mansion. No sooner did they vanish from my eyes, I looked at Dakran and smiled.

"Dakran---Dakran---Dakran--such a fool you are. How could you even think Manik Malhotra is going to hand over the girl to you? I am not a man of my words. I just use fools like you to get my work done."

"Manik, how the hell can you deceive me? I am Dakran," he yelled angrily.

"Lower your voice. It's my kingdom and I am Dakran over here. Do you fucking get that?"

"You are doing a huge mistake Manik. You are taking enmity with me. I won't forgive you, I will surely take revenge on this", Dakran warned me.

"You will take revenge from me, only when you go from here alive," I said removing my gun, from the pocket.

Dakran looked at me with fear in his eyes

"Tch Tch Tch, you don't need to be scared Dakran. I will give you an easy death," I said pointing the gun on his head.

I was about to pull the trigger but I stopped in between.

"Dakran before you die, tell me why do you want that girl?" I asked.

"Because-----Vi--", he was about to say but he started frothing from the mouth and fell on the ground.

"Hey, Dakran, get up!", I said tapping his cheeks. I checked his breath and realized he was dead.

Cabir came running and saw the entire scene

"What happened, brother?"

"Cabir, he is dead. Somebody had given him poison"

"What? How is this possible? He was here, in front of our eyes? How could someone give him poison?"

"Maybe before coming here, somebody has given him a slow poison," I replied.

"But why would someone do that?" Cabir inquired.

"Nandani Singhania, this girl, she is a mystery, Cabir," I replied. I checked Dakran's pocket and found his mobile phone. However it had a password, so I asked Cabir to get the password crack by Abhimanyu.

I went to the bedroom, where I saw Nandani hugging Navya and crying.

"Why are you crying? Oh your plan to fly from me got failed. Isn't it?" I asked clenching my fist angrily.

"Manik, she is unwell right now. You may..." Navya said but I interrupted her in between and yelled angrily.

"I don't fucking care! Just give her medicines or whatever you want to give but I want to speak to her right now", I shouted angrily.

Enough, I was too gentle with her. I am a heartless man. A heartless person does not care for anyone.
