CHAPTER 7

Nandani's POV

I woke up with a terrible pain in my head and found myself in an unfamiliar room.

"Hey Nandani, how are you feeling?" A girl in her mid-twenties asked me smiling. I tried to sit up straight on the bed but she made me lay down again.

"Hey, hey, relax. Please lay down," she said softly.

"Where am I?" I asked with tears in my eyes. "I want to go back home."

"Hey Tigress, you don't look good while crying," I heard Manik's voice.

I lifted my head and saw that monster, standing at the door. He came towards me and I tried to get up again.

"Relax, lay down, my tigress," he said softly. Is he suffering from bipolar disorder? I thought.

The last night, he threw me in the torture chamber to die, and now he is behaving as if he cares so much for me.

"Shhhh, don't stress your little brain", He told with a wink.

"She needs to take some rest. Her blood pressure has dropped," the girl who was sitting on a chair next to me said.

"When can I talk to her?" Manik asked her.

"Let us see. We will make her eat something and give her Electrolyte water. I will check her BP after a few hours again, to see if there is any improvement," the girl replied.

"Fine, do whatever you want to do and once she is okay, just call me," Manik said.

He looked at me for one last time and left the room. No sooner did he leave, I looked at the girl who was sitting next to me. Who was she, and why was she treating me? Is she a gangster too? There was a turmoil of thought in my mind.

"You can ask me, whatever you want to," the girl said smiling.

"Who are you? I want to go back home," I told in a low voice.

"I am Navya Dhawan. The guy, Cabir who brought you here, I am his wife," she said.

I crawled back in fear. She is that killer's wife. She would be heartless, too, like her husband.

She read my mind, it seemed.

"No, I am not at all cruel," she told. "I too was a normal girl like you, who use to live with my family happily, when Cabir set his eyes upon me. He kidnapped me and bought me here, in his mafia world."

"Aren't you afraid of him and why didn't you try to escape?" I asked her.

"It's four years since Cabir and I got married. These four years Nandani, I tried more than hundreds of times to escape, but all my attempts went in vain. I have lost all the hopes now and have accepted my fate", Navya said sadly. Tears brimmed in her eyes.

Listening to her, tears welled up in my eyes too. She continued-

"But one good thing about Cabir is that he never forced me. Yes, he kidnapped me, he forcefully got married to me, but he never forced me for any physical relationship"

"What is your age?" I inquired.

"I am twenty-nine. Now, you also tell me something about yourself," Navya said smiling.

"I am Nandani Singhania, the daughter of famous industrialist Vikram Singhania. My dad was always busy earning more money and fame, while my mom Jhanvi Singhania stayed busy in her kitty parties. My father never gave his time to me. He attended his business partner's daughter's birthday but he did not attend my birthday. He did not wish me. My boyfriend broke up with me too. My best friend Meherzan arranged a birthday party for me on the cruise. He proposed to me, but I rejected him because I wasn't able to trust any guy. Then lastly, I witnessed, your husband killing a man and I got kidnapped by him. Maybe, they might kill me too. Why is my life so fucked up?" I asked crying.

"They won't kill you, don't worry, I am there," Navya whispered hugging me.

"I don't want to live with these gangsters. Can you please help me to escape from here?" I begged her.

"Nandani, you cannot escape from them, dear. It is impossible," Navya said.

"Who wants to escape?" we heard a sharp voice. We turned back in fear. But when we saw Cabir at the door with a tray in his hand, Navya sighed in relief. Cabir came towards us and asked, "Are you both planning to escape?"

"It's nothing like that Cabir," Navya replied.

"Manik has sent lunch and electrolyte water for Ant," Cabir said keeping the tray on the table.

"Dare you call me an ant again. I am going to beat the shit out of you", I yelled at him and he flinched back in fear.

"Okay okay, Ant. I mean...Nan... Nandani. Please relax," Cabir said. I don't know what was wrong with me, tears welled up in my eyes again.

"Ant. I mean Nandani, now why are you crying? Why are you having mood swings?" Cabir asked.

"What do want me to do? To smile, or laugh, or should I dance after getting kidnapped by bloody gangsters. And I am not having mood swings, it's because of you, and that bloody Manik, my whole life is ruined. Yesterday night, you heartless people, you locked me in a dark room. I was bloody claustrophobic, I was screaming to get me out from that room, but no you guys did not fucking care. You all are bloody heartless people. Get lost from here, or I'll end up killing you," I screamed angrily.

"Nandani, relax", Navya tried to calm me down.

"Fine, I am going from the room. Wifey, please take care of her," Cabir said to Navya and left from the room.

I started crying and Navya hugged me tightly.

"Here, take have lunch", Navya said, giving the tray to me.

"I don't want to eat anything", I said pushing the tray away.

"Nandani, just a few bites.", Navya pleaded.

There was a knock at the door. A woman in her mid-forties came inside.

"Navya Ma'am, Cabir Sir has called you," she said politely.

"Tell him, I am coming," Navya replied and the lady left the room, bowing her head.

"Nandani, please have a few bites and drink this electrolyte water. I'll be right back," Navya told and left from the room. The moment I saw her leaving the room, I got up from the bed and ran towards the balcony. I looked around in the room and found a satin sheet kept on the couch. I quickly grabbed it and tied it from the balcony. I threw the other end of the sheet on the ground.

Now it's time to be a spiderman!

I carefully reached down with the help of the satin sheet. I was about to run towards the main gate, but a man of his mid-thirties entered from the gate with bodyguards. He removed his glasses and looked at me lustily.

"Welcome to my kingdom, Dakran," I heard Manik's voice. I turned back in fear and saw Manik and Cabir standing with their bodyguards.

"Wow Manik, you are indeed a man of your words. Take these weapons and drugs; and hand over this girl to me," the man who Manik mentioned as Dakran said, looking at me with a hungry look.

"First show me the weapons and drugs, and then this girl is all yours," Manik said pulling me towards him.

Dakran handed few bags to Manik

One of the bags was full of drugs and the other bags had different kinds of weapons in them.

"So, can I have this girl now?" Dakran asked tracing his fingers on my face. I pushed his hand away in disgust.

"It would be fun to tame a stubborn girl like you," he said laughing like a devil. Tears started to roll down my cheeks.

"Cabir, take these bags and Nandani inside the mansion," Manik said and I looked at him with teary eyes.

"Manik, what are you saying? Didn't we make the deal that if I hand over the new weapons and drugs to you, you will give Nandani to me," Dakran asked?

Manik put his hands in his pockets and started whistling, while Cabir held my hands and took me inside the mansion.

What was going on? I could not understand anything. Why does that man named Dakran want me? I have heard his name before. Why didn't Manik hand over me to that man?

Is he a devil, or an angel?
