Chapter 5

**Tyler

I've been watching Nyree almost the entire lunch period over there hanging with Craig and the other football players. Ugh, I'm hurting.

"Nigga, watchu looking at? Stop stalking that girl! If you ready to have her, go over there and claim her. If you not, as my sister would say, avert yo eyes!" I look over at James who is my closest guy friend. He the only one that really knows how I feel about Nyree. He's right and all, but mane I can't help it. I haven't been "talking" to those hoes I usually talk to at school. I think I'm ready.

"Yea, you're right but I don't know if I'm ready yet!"

"Aye, SHAUNA come here bitch!!!" He has turned away from me so I went back to watching Nyree. Craig now has his arm around her shoulders and is whispering something in her ear. She is laughing at him; I bet it's not even that funny. I've had enough of this. I get up from the table, and I don't know what is wrong with me but I start walking over to their table.

"Oh, hee--!" I grab her hand and pull her out of his arms and I pull her out of the cafeteria. "Tyler, where are you taking me? TYLER!!" I don't answer, I just keep pulling her until I finally get to the space behind the stairs. "Tyler, what's wrong with y--?" I grab her face and I kiss her. I mean a real kiss. One with passion, love, and want. I wanted her now more than ever. Fortunately, she kisses back. I feel her arms wrap around my neck and I continue to hold her face. When we finally break apart we are out of breath. "What was that for?" She asks me this, but she is smiling.

"I finally figured out what I wanted is all." I can see her grinning even though it is dark, and I'm not lying. My playing days are done. Shouldn't be that hard. As a matter of fact, I love this girl so it won't be that hard. "I love you."

"I love you too."

"So y'all dating now?" We are back in the lunchroom but I drag her to my table instead. James is questioning us. He mainly been asking this same question though.

"Yes bruh, she's my girl now!" James got a SUPER deep voice and every time he yells it feel like the table shakes.

"It's about damn time!!!!" Nyree starts laughing beside me and I just shake my head at him. "Ree I'm serious, this nigga been going on and on about you. I mean I feel like I've known you my whole life and I barely talk to yo ass! Not that you ain't cute or nothing, you fine as hell but we just ain't never been close!"

"Aiight bruh, chill! You talk too damn much!" James my boy and all. Plus, he a dope basketball player, but he don't know when to shut up sometimes! The bell rings and I grab Nyree hand and we walk to class hand in hand. Mane, I'm so ready for summer.

"Tyler stoooppp!!!" I am tickling Nyree because we are arguing over whether I'm a nice person or not. She playing too much! We been together for a week now. School out and I've been over her house 24/7 since break started. Well except right now, we at my house. My dad and stepmom took the little ones out to the skating rink.

"You agree that I'm nice now?"

"Yes, yes....just stop!" She super ticklish and I love her laugh.

"Good!"

"Love, I'm hungry!" I was sitting on the bed with my back against the wall and she came and sat right in front of the TV.

"Why you got such a big head?" She frowns at me and I starts laughing. "I'm kidding, watchu want?"

"Why you play so much, but I want pizza." Hell she reading my mind, because I sure did want some pizza right now.

"Me too!" I lift her off of me and go call in the order.

"Hello, this is Shadonte would you like to try our two large pizzas and a drink for $20.99?" The hell, what kind of name is that?

"Um, nawl I just want one large pepperoni pizza delivered."

"Alright and is that all for you sir?" Didn't I just say that?

"Yes." I give her my address and all that stuff, she gives me the price, and then I hang up. When I go back up to my room I see Nyree tucked under my covers. Her ass just got her own self comfortable and shit. I don't care, she did this before we got together anyways. I got under them with her and I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her close to me. She is watching TV but I am watching her. I start messing with her ear.

"Hahah that tickles!" She starts giggling.

"Everything tickles you!"

She turns towards me and says, "So." She starts poking my stomach. Oh my gosh, what is wrong with my girlfriend?

"Hahah why do you do that?"

"Because it's hard and sexy." She seems so focused. Lmao I love this girl.

"Um, babe it's called abs!"

"Hahah smart ass, I got them too!"

"You gonna let me see?" She hit my hand away from her shirt.

"No!" Before I could make her the doorbell rings and she hops out of bed to get it. I follow her down to the door, but more slowly. When I walk up behind her I see Craig standing at the door with the pizza box in his hand. He looks at her, then looks at me, damn if looks could kill. Shit I just smirk at his ass and watch as Nyree gives him the money and he hands her the pizza. "Bye Craig! See you Saturday."

"Yea aiight." He walks back to the little Domino's car and gets in. Then he drives away. What's going on Saturday though?

"What's happening Saturday?" I lean over the counter and watch her as she looks in my refrigerator for a drink.

"It's this art thing downtown that Craig invited me to."

"When were you going to tell me about it?" I forgot that mane liked to draw. He's not as good as she is. He think he slick!

"I don't know, whenever it came up I guess. I didn't think you'd be interested. You want to go?"

"Who else going?"

"Just Craig and I." The fuck?

"Hell yea I'm going!"
