[08B] - Another Dream

▲ My eyes opened, but I didn't feel my body. My vision adjusted to the clarity of the sky that had been brushed by shades of orange and pink. I tried to move, but I was a prisoner of myself. A body without control.

I focused on the horizon where the sun was setting, noticing the strangeness of the place, it was like an incomplete scenario. The colors did not color the entire sky, they lost their distance and found darkness. The sea was calm as a lake and a breeze was what made it sway.

I hear footsteps behind me, but I can't seem to turn. I'm not afraid inside of me, maybe it was strange security that the place went through or the fact that I seemed to be waiting for that sound. Two people sit next to me, but I still don't look at them, I'm fixed on the horizon.

My lips move without my control.

- This is one of the memories I want to keep. We.

My words are lost in the silence, but, on each side, two hands touch mine in response. I feel a kiss being placed on top of my head and I look up to see the boy, Nate, Ågaris, the original Hayden. He smiled at me with a slightly hidden sadness.

- We all have to keep that memory. Everything can be lost, except for Us.

Then everything went black. ▲

I woke up with a throbbing head. My blurred vision took time to adjust to the darkness. I felt like days had passed since I blacked out, but looking at the GPS I realized that it was no more than two minutes.

I took a hard breath, feeling everything hurt inside me. A deafening sound was repeated and the strong wind raised dust. A helicopter, I guessed. I grunted to the side without force, the flying object was distant. I didn't need much time to understand what was going on. I tried to get up, but my body was still heavy, any movement was too painful.

"Some gods ask for sacrifices, I ask for a thought." Hayden was the sacrifice they wanted. "We all have to keep that memory. Everything can be lost, except for Us." The words echoed in my mind in a deafening way. "We".

My physical pain was gradually decreasing. I forced myself to sit down, losing sight of Hayden. They couldn't take him, not Hayden. What would become of me without him? Was that the end? Would they have taken away the only thing left to me? My stomach became a black hole. My chest was so tight that it seemed to want to pierce itself.

He took it, took everything from me, the world, the people, the sanity, Hayden.

I sat with tears of hate in my eyes. They could take everything, anything, but not Hayden. He was mine, my friend, my creation, my sanity. Hayden was part of me, real or not. I would save him, make everyone pay for it, no matter who they were. It didn't matter who we were.
