Chapter 4

After a week of not seeing Henry, Claire missed him a lot.

“Henry, what are you thinking about?” she asked, seeing the boy with his arms crossed and a serious look.

Henry was different from other kids his age. He was smart, maybe even like a tiny adult, and knew how to be sweet and caring.

“Hmmm. I’m thinking it’s time Mommy got a boyfriend…” he said cutely.

“Forget it. With how cold your mom is, no one would want to be with her,” Claire replied.

Henry gave her a calm look. “That’s still better than Claire, who seems to get excited over everything.”

“…” Claire was taken aback. “You little rascal. You’re getting a spanking!”

While they played around, Elizabeth walked out, and Henry quickly ran to her.

“Mommy, Mommy,” he said. “I’m hungry.”

Elizabeth crouched and hugged him, her heart softening. “Good boy. Let’s go home. Mommy will cook for you.”

“Mommy…” Henry pouted, wrapping his arms around her neck. “Won’t you get a boyfriend? I want a daddy.”

Elizabeth felt a pang in her chest but smiled as she changed the topic. “Let’s have dinner first and see what Claire has for us.”

Henry had often asked why he didn’t have a daddy while others did. Elizabeth didn’t have an answer because she didn’t even know who his father was. It was a painful subject for her.

Claire was driving, and Elizabeth held Henry in the front seat.

“Liz, have you ever thought about finding a boyfriend?” Claire asked, glancing at Elizabeth.

Elizabeth gently stroked Henry’s head. “Of course I have. With my cute son, many men would want to be his dad.”

Henry smiled happily. “That’s because my mommy’s the most beautiful woman in the world!”

Claire looked worried. She knew Elizabeth was lying. Even though Elizabeth was famous and pretty, no man wanted to date her after finding out she had a son.

Then the car shook violently.

“What happened?” Elizabeth quickly protected Henry with her hand.

Henry patted her chest. “It’s okay, Mommy. It’s okay.”

“I’ll check it out.”

Claire got out and saw her car was hit and damaged badly. She yelled at the other driver, “Hey! Where did you learn to drive?”

A man in black got out of the car and handed Claire a stack of cash. “Here’s money for the damages. Please move your car so we can pass.”

Claire was stunned. It was a lot of money. She was upset and thought, Why should I move just because they bumped into me?

Elizabeth also got out of the car to see what was going on and saw the damage. She said coldly, “Please apologize!”

The man in black seemed surprised they wanted more than money. He went back to a Lamborghini and the window came down.

“What should we do, sir?” the man asked.

“Let’s go.” A cold voice replied.

“Yes, sir.”

The man got back in the car, which quickly drove away.

“Zero class! They hit my car and just left after throwing money at me!” Claire said angrily as the car disappeared.

Henry looked at the money with wide eyes. “Wow! With so much money, Mommy can find a cheap daddy now!”

Elizabeth sighed. “Let’s get the car fixed.”

Inside the Lamborghini, the man in the back seat slowly opened his eyes. Despite the dark, his eyes were deep and troubled. “Don’t get involved in another fake accident.”

“Yes, sir.”

The man frowned, holding his forehead. He looked as if he was in pain.

“Sir, should we see Dr. Anthony?” the man in black asked.

The accident from four years ago had caused him memory loss and frequent headaches.

“It’s fine.” He closed his eyes again, thinking about that beautiful woman. He had a feeling he knew her from somewhere.
