Chapter 4
ANGEL'S POV
I could hear the footsteps drawing nearer, but I felt frozen in place as if my body were glued to the floor. Finally, the figure came to a halt right in front of me.
In an instant, the room was flooded with light, illuminating the man who had been watching me through the door yesterday.
He had brought a lamp to brighten the space, and after removing his jacket, he gently wiped my body with it.
"You'll be okay," the man said softly, and tears streamed down my face. It was a comforting realization that someone actually cared about me in this hellish place.
The door swung open once more, and a woman in her sixties entered, carrying a first aid kit. She was the head maid of the clan.
"Rocco, I'm here," the head maid said, stopping beside him.
"You need to treat her wound before anyone finds out," Rocco urged, and the head maid nodded in agreement.
The headmaid brought out some supplies and carefully removed Rocco's jacket from my body before beginning to tend to my back. My eyelids grew heavy once more, and a chilling thought crossed my mind—I felt as if I might not make it through this.
"I'm going to die. The pain is unbearable, and I can't take it any longer," I murmured, my voice filled with despair.
"You're not going to die," the head maid reassured me. "Just hold on a little longer. I understand what you're going through."
"Should we take her to the hospital?" Rocco asked the head maid, concern etched on his face.
"We'll get in trouble. Trust me, she’ll be okay."
After that, their voices faded away, and I found I couldn't even lift a finger.
But just before I lost consciousness, I vowed to myself that I would seek revenge for everything that heartless man had done to me. I would make him feel every ounce of pain he had inflicted on me, and I would be the one to end his life before he could do the same to me. As my eyes finally shut, I slipped into darkness.
"She has closed her eyes. Is she still breathing?" Rocco asked.
"I told you to relax; she just fainted. She'll be alright by the time she wakes up," the head maid said, her smile radiating reassurance.
"This is the first time I've seen you like this," she added softly, a knowing smile playing on her lips.
"It's not what you think," Rocco quickly defended himself.
Inside the Venom Suite...
He emerged from the bathroom, a towel wrapped around his waist, droplets of water cascading down his bare, muscular chest.
He still wore his mask, a habit he had maintained since childhood, and no one knew the reason behind it. Anyone who dared to uncover his face would face dire consequences.
He had been a devil ever since the day Hudson took his mother’s life, and he would remain a merciless devil forever.
A large snake, its venomous fangs poised to strike, was intricately tattooed on his back, yet no one understood its significance—even Zachary, who was so close to him.
He stood in front of the mirror, taking long, heavy drags from his cigarette, when the door swung open, and Sadie walked in.
"I was wondering why you hadn’t called me in the past three days, so I decided to come here myself," Sadie said, reaching out to hug him. He immediately pushed her away. Sadie was his personal s*x slave, and no one in the clan dared to touch her but him.
"You’re testing your luck. Get out right now!," Venom said coldly, not even bothering to look at her.
"I miss you. Don’t you miss me too?" Sadie said, reaching out to caress his chest. But Venom abruptly seized her neck, tightening his grip.
"I’ve warned you countless times—don’t cross the line. I’ll kill you, and no one will care. You’re nothing but my sex slave," Venom growled, his fury evident as he tightened his hold on her neck, leaving Sadie gasping for breath.
"I'm sorry! I promise I won't cross the line again," Sadie choked out, tears streaming down her face.
Venom released her roughly, causing her to stumble to the floor.
"Don't ever come here unless I call for you," he said coldly, and Sadie nodded as he strode into his dressing room.
"What’s gotten into him? He’s never treated me like this before," Sadie murmured, rubbing her sore neck.
"You might push me away today, but we’ll have great sex next time, Venom," she whispered to herself before strutting out of the room, her sass on full display as if she hadn’t just been choked moments earlier.
Aside from Zachary, Sadie was the only one who could call Venom by his name within the gang, which is why she often took on a leadership role because she was Venom's sex slave.
Three Days Later...
A black car pulled up in front of Nelson's house, and a young man stepped out.
He looked dashing in his expensive suit as he approached the house, a gift bag in his hand. Just as he reached the door, it swung open, revealing Nanny Erica. Though in her late fifties, she still appeared youthful.
"Nanny Erica, how have you—" the young man said cheerfully, but he halted mid-sentence when he noticed the grumpy expression on her face.
"Dylan, I take it you still haven't figured out what happened," Nanny Erica said with a sniff.
"What happened? What's wrong? Is Angel okay?" Dylan asked, his voice filled with worry as he just returned from years of traveling. Nanny Erica's words were unclear, leaving him anxious.
"Angel... Angel was—" Nanny Erica's voice trembled as she sniffled, but Dylan's impatience grew.
"Please, just tell me what happened, Nanny Erica!" he shouted, frustration evident as he dropped the gift bag he was holding onto the floor. He was Angel's best friend, yet their connection resembled that of lovers. He couldn't deny his feelings for her, but being a bit older made him hold back, waiting until she turned nineteen before acting on his love.
"Angel was killed by an unknown man, along with Hudson and Lucia," Nanny Erica said, tears streaming down her face freely.
"What?" Dylan mumbled in disbelief, struggling to process what he had just heard.
"My precious Angel was killed! She was too innocent, why would someone take the life of an innocent soul like hers," Nanny Erica sobbed. Suddenly, a thought struck Dylan like a bolt of lightning.
"Venom," he exclaimed, his eyes widening as the shocking realization hit him.
