CHAPTER 1
Kendall was furious. No way in hell was this happening. "Kendall honey you are twenty-five years old, it's time you settled down anyway." Her mother was serious… She wanted her to marry a man who she had never met?
"Cathy I will not marry him, father would turn in his grave, he hated him, why would you think this would be the solution to end the feud?" Her mother gave her a stop being difficult look, she hated it when KENDALL called her by her name.
"It's the only way... We will lose everything your father worked for if you don't marry him, everything Kendall, the entire thing will be handed over to the Wyatt’s, is that what you want? You know that your grandfather was in business with the Wyatt’s… He was fond of them and Blake is his godson… He wanted this union and it will happen. It’s the only way… He stated in his will what is to take place.”
"What if he doesn't agree? Mum, this is so ridiculous."
"Make it so he does. You understand that we both have so much to lose if this does not happen. You will marry Blake Wyatt and have his child.”
“What are you keeping from me. I feel that there is more at play…”
“Just do as you are told. If you want to keep living this life, then do as you are told. You want to lose everything we have? Do you think you can survive without all the luxuries that come our way?”
No she did not. KENDALL knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that her life was nothing without all the glitz and the glamour of her world. She was filthy rich, she had it all… Her mother was money hungry and would sell her soul to the devil to keep it that way.
Did KENDALL understand anything about anything?
No she did not!
She was an only child and all she knew about this Blake was that he had a brother and a sister. How the hell could she marry somebody she'd never met and more importantly have a child with this person? Oh man if her father were alive he'd never allow Cathy to do this to her!
Her father hated the Wyatt’s… Never been told the full story, all she knew was they were the enemy.
"What about lawyers? Is there a loophole we can use to get out of it?"
"Do you think this wasn’t thought out? Directions were very precise Kendall. Michael knew he was dying, he thought of everything! Now please stop being difficult we don't have time, wedding will be in two days so please let's go get you a dress." At this point Kendall hated her mother so much, her no good, Botox faced, money hungry mother! Oh how she missed her father.
***
Blake was pissed, Michael you fucker how could you do this? "I'm paying you a fucking large amount of money to get me out of this Max, and you come up with fuck all!" Blake yelled at his attorney.
"Mr Wyatt please understand the first thing that Michael Lucius stated was there would be no intervening in his will. If I dig further you can risk losing it all. I'm sorry this is one I can't win for you." Fucking lawyers!
"Get out!" Blake was losing his cool. He would be married in two days to a fucking pompous princess who he'd never set eyes on! What's worse he would have to impregnate her! Poor Jade, how could she handle this? They were set to wed in a year. And what's worse was there would be no divorce, whoever filed for divorce first would lose everything to the other party.
A knock on the door woke him from his thoughts. "Yes?" He wasn't in the mood for anymore shit, he needed to sort himself out.
Jade made her way in looking like the most beautiful woman in the world. Her light brown hair falling loosely around her face. Her blue eyes were blotched, she had been crying. "Come here honey." Blake swirled his chair around so she could sit in his lap. As soon as she was in his arms she broke down in sobs. "Hey don't cry baby. We'll work it out, I swear I'll figure it out. I’ll figure something out."
"Blake you will be married in two days, what are you going to figure out?"
"Married or not you stay with me, I'll never let you go. She will have to accept it baby. We will always be together, it's just a formality. It's you I love, nobody can ever compare to that." Jade nodded her head. He lifted her chin up and kissed her gently on her lips. Boy this was going to get messy.
***
The day of the wedding was upon them, Kendall stared at her reflection in the mirror, oh fuck she was a bride! Her dark brown hair in a high neat full bun atop her head. She had a very expensive pearl tiara that looked more like a hair peace rather than a crown, it had a vintage look that Kendall loved. She wore simple drop pearl earrings and a simple pearl necklace. The bodice of her dress was a very intricate design of a very expensive lace. It squeezed her already thin waist, laced at the back, the bottom of her dress was princess like gown that was full and crystal organza that was delicately cut to perfection, layers and layers or material.
Looked like a fairy tale dress, meant for a fairy tale wedding, not this shot gun wedding.
Admittedly Kendall knew she looked amazing, her big brown eyes were all dolled up with dark smoky makeup, almost charcoal look. She was often asked if she was a model and looking at herself now she understood why.
"Oh my darling you look amazing." Her mother pretending to wipe her invisible tears.
"Cathy please stop with your crap! I'm here aren't I?"
"Please call me mother. People will think something's wrong with us." Like no shit Sherlock! They were anything but in a loving relationship.
"Oh heaven forbid we show our true colours! Do you even care about what will happen to me? My god I don't even know him!" Kendall was beginning to panic…
"Calm down, he will look after you, they are very well off..."
"Always about the money with you mother!"
"I'll pretend I didn't hear that! It's time let's go."
"Wait who's will be walking me down the aisle?"
"Oh dear we didn't think of that..."
"Seriously?" Since this whole ordeal, this was the moment Kendall felt like crying, if only her father were here.
"Don't work yourself up, Uncle Brett will walk you down." Uncle who?
***
Blake was waiting impatiently at the altar. He was not happy at all, he could see Jade crying and her mother trying to comfort her. She was a mess. Now for his ever late bride to show her face so this fucking ordeal would end. What was worse was another one of Michael's condition being they were to honeymoon in a fucking cabin in an undisclosed location, Michael had it arranged to the end. The location would be given to him when they were on the way.... Alone!
That's all he fucking needed. The first thing Blake was going to do was inform his bride that Jade would move in with them and share his bedroom. She might as well get used to it from the beginning.
The music began and everybody at the church were on their feet for the grand entrance, he didn't want to see her, he wanted to close his eyes and pretend this was not real. Blake turned and watched his bride walk down with all the grace of a fucking princess. He was spot on, she was an overly spoilt brat who always got what she wanted.
His brother Ryan was beside him as best man, he looked at Blake sympathetically and Blake wanted to punch him.
Brett handed the bride over to Blake, she didn’t even wanted to look up at him. She stood rigid and when he took the veil off her face and pulled it back.
Blake looked at his bride and was taken aback, she was a stunner, her eyes were exotic, like some sort of Arabian princess. She dressed her eyes with too much makeup but it only added to their beauty. Her lips were luscious and full. He shook his head to himself, she was seductively sexy but his type was Jade. He liked how simple Jade was, the not so high maintenance type.
***
"You may kiss the bride." Kendall swallowed hard, she didn't want to do this, it was completely awkward, she looked at the man she was marrying and was quite surprised that he was very attractive, not her type but still very good looking. He had dark hair, even darker eyes, straight nose, full lips and a very neat beard. He wasn't a short man and from what Kendall could make out his body was in great shape.
Blake bent his head and brushed his lips over hers in a cold and unfeeling kiss. Cheers and applause from the guests and it was finally over. He linked his arms with hers as they made their way out as husband and wife.
Photos and champagne and it was time to leave. The reception was another daunting ordeal she needed to get through. Blake opened the limousine door and helped her in before following her inside. Once the doors were closed and the driver slowly took off, Kendall was suddenly very nervous.
Kendall kept her head held high, she wouldn't stoop to talking to him first. Her father must be disgraced with her for doing this. But she couldn't allow them to take her father’s sweat and blood. Her mother was right, she needed to sacrifice for the greater good, didn't mean she had to play nice with her husband, best he learn where he stands with her and that was beneath her. She was way out of his league and all the money in the world wouldn't change that.
"How old are you?" His voice jolted her from her thoughts.
"I'm twenty five." She wasn't going to ask him the same, she didn't care.
"How many guys have you been with?" She looked up at him with disbelief. How dare he?
"That's none of your god damn business." KENDALL was shocked by his boldness, like really shocked. The fuck was he on about? How dare he ask her something so personal?
"Actually it is, answer the question."
"I did answer it, none of your god damn business." Blake obviously didn't like being spoken to like this. Looked a lot like he wanted to smack her mouth. KENDALL heard how he was so used to having people hide in fear from him. He was going to have to get used to it, KENDALL did not answer to a soul…
She turned her head looking out the window and dismissing him from her thoughts
"Maybe I should check just to make sure." What the hell did he just say?
"Touch me and I'll scream, I swear to god if you touch me I'll scratch your eyes out!" He laughed, he was actually seemed amused.
"Really you'll scream and what if I did this, he placed his arm around her head and a hand over her mouth silencing her. Kendall's arms were wildly trying to hit him. He grabbed them easily and held them in an unrelenting grip. "What else have you got kitten? Don't try and best me bride, you'll never come out the victor." The limo pulled over and he let her go, she was so shocked by what was going on, the fact that Blake actually fixed her dress and placed her hands gently onto her lap before the door opened.
Blake exited the car, before offering her his arm to help her out. He stared her down daring her to refuse his help.
