Chapter 17 Bigwigs

Tie’s Manor.

It was a dignified place, fully guarded.

The group of Mercedes stopped at the gate. Tie Ningshuang got off.

When she saw Qin Tian sitting still, she gritted her teeth and threatened him, “You’d better cure my grandfather. Otherwise, I swear I’ll never let go of you easily.”

She was always proud. However, Qin Tian repeatedly embarrassed her.

She had to surrender, bent over, and serve him with tea, which riled her up.

Compared to her, Wu Shan was calmer.

After all, he was from the military. Although Qin Tian was expressionless and indifferent, Wu Shan could feel the pressure emanated from him.

“Mr. Qin, my men have guarded your wife and mother-in-law back home.”

“Please don’t worry. If you can cure Mr. Tie, I’ll guarantee at least in Stillwater, no one will have the guts to lay a finger on them in the future.”

Qin Tian sneered, “Stillwater? No big deal.”

“In the whole world, if anyone dares to lay a finger on my family, they are risking their necks.”

After getting off, he stood upright and strode into the house without looking at the guards.

Tie Ningshuang repressed her anger, trotting in front of him to show him the way.

The butler strode to them. “Lady Ningshuang, Master isn’t in his bedroom. He’s gone to Hall of Warriors.”

“He’s just recovered. Why did he go there?”

“I have no idea. He asked you to take Mr. Qin over. He’s waiting for you in the hall.”

His words made Tie Ningshuang dart at Qin Tian in surprise.

Hall of Warriors was an inconspicuous room in the manor, which was changed into a prayer room.

However, everyone in the Tie family knew the meaning of the Hall of Warriors. It was Tie Xiong’s belief.

It was like a forbidden territory in the manor.

Although Tie Ningshuang was spoiled by her grandfather, she couldn’t enter the room without permission.

However, Tie Xiong decided to wait for Qin Tian in the Hall of Warriors, so Tie Ningshuang was amazed.

Wu Shan realized something after hearing their conversation. Looking slightly excited, he said, “Please follow me, Mr. Qin.”

He strode in the front to show the way. Hall of Warriors wasn’t only Tie Xiong’s relief but also Wu Shan’s.

They both owned military merits.

They were born to be soldiers guarding the country.

Wearing a smile, Qin Tian followed Wu Shan and Tie Ningshuang to a small yard behind the main house.

“Mr. Qin, I’ve been expecting you.”

Tie Xiong stood at the door of a common-looking room, looking spirited.

“Grandpa, why did you put on the military uniform?” Tie Ningshuang trotted to him in surprise.

Tie Xiong’s hair had become gray, looking slightly haggard because of his sickness. However, he put on the uniform, standing upright, emanating a strong aura of a soldier.

It was as if he wasn’t old at all and could still fight against the enemies.

“Salute, General!” Tears welled up in Wu Shan’s eyes. He clicked his heels together and saluted Tie Xiong.

Tie Xiong’s gaze fell on Qin Tian’s face. He ordered, “Ningshuang, Wu Shan, stand at the door. No one is allowed to enter without my permission.”

“Please follow me, Mr. Qin.”

He stood aside, opening the door to let Qin Tian in.

Qin Tian nodded at him slightly and entered.

He was delighted for Tie Xiong’s spirit, although the latter had resigned from the military.

Also, Qin Tian recognized Tie Xiong’s uniform was a sign of the North.

Hall of Warriors.

There used to be statues of Buddha on the tables, but they had been replaced by statues of legendary warriors in history and present times.

Qin Tian glanced at them and remarked, “Bai Qi, God of Wars; Guan Yu, the loyal general; Han Xin, the intelligent advisor; Xiang Yu, the expert of battles...”

Then his gaze fell on the last statue, and a touch of a smile played on his lips.

“Xiao Tiger is too young. I didn’t expect you to worship him.”

The full name made Tie Xiong’s expression change dramatically.

“Mr. Qin, mind your language!”

“You could tell Wu Shan’s Eighteen Subduing Dragon Palms, and my wound was caused by practicing the old version of Seven Injuries Fist. So I guessed you were from the North.”

“Also, you restrained your internal energy, so I couldn’t tell your cultivation. But I guess you should be a master.”

“That was why I’d invited you to the Hall of Warriors.”

“But you cannot address General Xiao by his full name.”

Qin Tian chuckled, “Have you served in General Xiao’s troops?”

Tie Xiong answered, “I was too old to follow General Xiao, unfortunately. I'd already resigned when he was in charge of the North.”

“But, so what?”

“General Xiao guarded the border, and no enemy dares to intrude.”

“He has never failed a battle. The president rewarded him with merit. He’s the Undefeated.”

“Qin Tian, we shall salute General Xiao together.”

With those words, Tie Xiong saluted the statue respectfully.

Qin Tian nodded with a smile. “The Undefeated... It suits Xiao Tiger. Sort of.”

“I don’t have plenty of time. Let’s stop beating around the busy. General Tie, I can teach you the updated Seven Injuries Fist. If you keep practicing, you’ll recover...”

Before Qin Tian started teaching, Tie Xiong boiled over with anger.

Gazing at him in anger, Tie Xiong snapped, “How dare you disrespect General Xiao! You disrespect the whole military of the North!”

“Kneel to General Xiao for his forgiveness.”

“Or I’d rather die than learn anything from you.”

Qin Tian sneered, “Kneel to him? It would kill Xiao Tiger to see me on my knees to him.”

“What did you say?”

His words startled Tie Xiong.

General Xiao from the North was the God of War in his eyes.

Tie Xiong obtained his statue to worship him.

He had never met Xiao Tiger in person before, let alone having his phone number.

Besides, even if he had Xiao Tiger’s number, Tie Xiong wouldn’t call him as he wished.

“Who are you?” Tie Xiong looked at Qin Tian up and down, unconcealed fear filling his eyes.

Suddenly, there were a few footsteps outside the door.

Curt knocks sounded.

Tie Xiong growled, “Didn’t I tell you no one should interrupt us?”

A man’s deep voice was heard. “It’s me, Dad.”

“I have important news. It’s urgent.”

Tie Xiong glanced at Qin Tian in doubt and said coldly, “Please excuse me, Mr. Qin.”

Then he quickly opened the door and left the room. Seeing the mid-aged man, he asked crossly, “What’s so urgent?”

“Tie Linfeng, you are mid-aged and the chairman of the Stillwater Society of Commerce. Can you act maturely?”

The mid-aged man was Tie Xiong’s second son, Tie Linfeng. He’s also Tie Ningshuang’s father.

Although Tie Linfeng kept lowkey, he was in charge of the Stillwater Society of Commerce. Seldom people had the honor to see him in person.

Earlier, when Su Yukun fawned over Tie Ningshuang, he mentioned he had the pleasure of dining with Tie Linfeng once.

Actually, Su Yukun wasn’t invited to the dinner officially. Also, Tie Linfeng only went there for a short while and drank with a few people.

He had no impression of Su Yukun at all.

Tie Linfeng was a bigwig in town but could only be like a three-year-old in his father’s presence.

Tie Ningshuang and Wu Shan hid afar, having no guts to eavesdrop.

Tie Linfeng wiped the sweat off his sweat and answered respectfully, “The matter is really essential, Dad. Or I wouldn’t have been so bold to interrupt you.”

Tie Xiong frowned and asked, “What is it? Tell me.”

Tie Linfeng breathed out in relief and whispered, “I’ve received some news. The bigwigs are coming to town.”
