Chapter 2

"Was the book from yesterday really taken off the shelves? How could this be such a coincidence?"

I opened the reading app to search for the book from yesterday, only to find that it had been removed.

I had no choice but to check the details from the book in my mind with Karen, confirming that we seemed to have encountered a bizarre incident.

What was even more terrifying was that it was now midnight, the time when ghost stories happened often.

"We had just finished a horror novel when the cruise information appeared on my computer. It can't be a coincidence, and the details are clear, even the live broadcast content was exactly the same. I suspect that book was warning us a day in advance."

Karen, who was always faint-hearted, turned pale upon hearing this.

"Do you remember the book mentioned it was about revenge?"

I thought for a moment and said, "A mother’s revenge?"

Karen curled up on the bed, wishing she could hide in the crack of the bed.

"Um... I suddenly remembered a news story I saw five years ago. Something that really happened..."

"It also occurred on a cruise ship, where a mother and her child were targeted by traffickers. They locked up the child, and the mother, because she was beautiful, was raped. They endured unspeakable torture and eventually died with resentment."

"I just suddenly remembered that the cruise ship seems to be the exact same one as this one."

My pupils shivered slightly, and a chill ran down my back.

"Don't scare yourself! That happened so long ago, and besides, we have no feud with that mother and child. Why would she come after us?"

Although I said this, my gaze couldn't help but drift towards the live stream.

The camera moved continuously, finally stopping at a door on the third floor, at Room 226.

I breathed a sigh of relief and turned back to Karen, saying, "Don't worry! It's not coming for us. Let's watch the live stream for a bit longer. It might just be someone playing a prank."
