Chapter 2. CEO of Babysitter
Noa parks his car in front of his mother's house, scratches the back of his neck as he looks at the entrance to the house, snorts as he lights a cigarette, takes a drag, and blows the smoke out the open window.
"Damn, what a pain.
He puts the lit end of the cigarette back in his mouth as he smokes, narrowing his eyes slightly as he looks at the fountain in the middle of the house. He should be happy about winning that case. His client wouldn't go to jail, and he would receive a large payment for his hard work.
It had been two long years of that awful case, which he was already bored with, but he was doing it for the lady and the money.
He smokes again, then throws the cigarette out the window and taps it a little to get rid of the ash.
"Damn, and now I have to be here at my mom's house for a girls' party," he says, shaking his head and smoking again, but he doesn't finish the cigarette. "She knows I hate girls' parties."
He throws the finished cigarette away and leaves his car, closing the door reluctantly. He focuses on the house where he saw much of his life. He sighs and walks to the residence, enters, and hears a lot of silence.
He frowns and wonders if he got the day wrong. Isn't his little sister's party supposed to be today? He is standing in the middle of the hall, looking towards the kitchen, but he doesn't see anyone running around.
He knew his mother well; she was good at throwing birthday parties for her daughter. Then he hears a noise on the stairs. It makes him look up. When he does, he feels like it was a big mistake.
Noa is shocked to see a beautiful young girl running, smiling, and looking happy, but her eyes show that she is in great pain. The CEO blinks a few times, and then she sees her walking up the stairs. She looks up and sees him.
Noa looks at the black-haired girl with fluffy curls, and then he realizes that her eyes are gray. At that moment, he wonders, Who is that girl? And why was she coming down the stairs of his house?
The girl with black hair stops just as she is about to finish descending the steps when she notices his presence. Noa looks at her without saying anything. The young woman is at the bottom of the stairs, staring at him with her eyes wide open.
Noa tries to speak, but doesn't say a word.
"Violeta? Where have you been?" At that moment, the CEO hears his sister's voice. He looks up and sees her coming down the stairs. He frowns and realizes that Lucia has grown a lot.
"Lucia?" The young blonde looks at him and smiles, her eyes widening as she runs down the stairs.
"Noaaaaa! You came!" she cries, excitedly.
When she gets to the bottom of the stairs, she runs towards him to hug him so tightly that Noa lifts her up a little and rocks her body. But Noa's eyes are fixed on the dark-haired girl in front of him, looking at him expectantly.
"I thought you weren't coming, but I'm so excited that you're here.
"I told Mom I would come, but I'm not sure if I came on the right day.
"Why do you say that?" His sister pulls away from him, confused.
"There's nothing here, no balloons, no cake, no fuss."
Lucia smiles and shakes her head, amused, as she listens to her brother. The young woman thinks he's silly, so she playfully punches him in the chest.
"Are you kidding? But I'm turning 18. How do you think there will be all that stuff you're talking about? I'm not turning 5, brother," Lucia says, smiling.
"You're not having a birthday party?" She shakes her head and smiles.
Noa clenched her jaw. Her mother was very funny. She made him travel to Boston for nothing because she didn't want to celebrate her sister's birthday.
"So..."
"I'll celebrate by going to the disco with my friends. I'm of legal age now, so I can get in without any problems."
He hadn't expected that. His sister is going to a disco. That wasn't very nice to hear.
"Does Mom agree with this?"
"I told her I didn't want a birthday party; I wanted to go to the disco with my friends, and she said yes."
His mother's behavior was strange. The CEO shakes his head and pretends to speak, but then he remembers that someone with rebellious laughter was very quiet. He looks up and sees her getting nervous. Her cheeks are red.
"Oh! She's my friend Violeta," Lucia says, hugging her friend as if she were her sister. "She's my best friend. I don't know if you remember her, Noa."
"Violeta?" He quickly notices that the girl blinks when he says her name.
"Violeta Fuller, do you remember her?" Lucia brings her friend closer to her brother. "Viole, do you remember my older brother, Noah?"
They both stare into each other's eyes. Noa sees that she has a few freckles on her nose, her eyes are a very light gray, her lips are plump, and her hair is quite curly and charming.
"Yes, I think so," he finally hears her speak, and her voice is much more seductive than her whole body.
"Violeta..."
Now that he remembered the Fuller family, he took his mother to that girl's birthday party when she was only a year old. That little girl he saw in her mother's arms was now a woman. And it's very sexy.
"Yes, I remember you well." Lucia was confused about what was happening to her. Then she saw her best friend's brother, and she felt a strange tingling feeling all over her body. "It seems I've been gone for a long time."
"You've missed a lot, brother." His sister hits him, but he still looks at Violet.
"Noa?" He turned and saw his mother coming out of the kitchen. When she saw him, she smiled with joy. "I'm so glad you could come today, son."
"Mom!" He kissed her on the cheek. "Lucia is telling me you weren't going to celebrate her birthday."
"If I had told you, you wouldn't have wanted to come, and I needed you to come, son."
He didn't understand why his mother was inviting him if she wasn't going to do anything. She was just wasting his precious time. He had won his case, so he deserved a break, but the money was needed urgently.
"Mom," he rubs the bridge of his nose.
"I want you to take Lucia to the disco and take care of her." He looks up right away.
"Mom! You promised you wouldn't do that. Do you know how it will make me feel to take my brother to the disco?"
He didn't understand what was going on. Did his mother want him to babysit a bunch of crazy kids?
"Son, I trust you to protect this girl from doing anything crazy. I don't want her to regret it later." Only you know what those places are like."
"What are you saying? Are you saying I should babysit Lucia?"
"No, Noah."
He wasn't interested in playing games. He had an important meeting on Monday that he couldn't miss, and his mother wanted him to stay up all night because of his sister's carelessness.
"She's old enough to take care of herself."
"Yes, Mom, I'm old enough. I can take care of myself, and Violeta is going with me."
Noa sat up straight when she heard that. She was going to the club, too, which meant she was old enough to go to those places. But with that body and that innocent face of hers, she had no doubt that anyone would want to have sex with her, even in the bathroom.
"No, I'll feel better if you take care of these two," the CEO said, looking at her mother with seriousness. "I know you're too old for this, but you're the only one I can trust with these girls."
"No, you don't have to do this."
"It's okay."
Violeta is surprised and excited when she hears her friend's brother agree. Her heart races as she realizes that he will be at the club. Why did he make her nervous? She was just getting to know him.
Lucia always talked about him, but she had never seen him before that day.
"Lucia," Violeta whispered to her friend, and Noa heard her, but her mother didn't.
"Now!"
The CEO looked upset when he found out that the two of them were planning something, so he decided to ruin their plan. Whatever they had in mind, it wasn't going to work.
"Okay, then, it's decided. Noa will come with you, and I don't want to hear any more complaints. Otherwise, neither of you will be able to go."
"Mom! You're so boring..."
The young women run down the hallway like naughty girls. Noa looks at them, but his eyes are only on Violeta. She also turns to look at him out of the corner of her eye.
"Lucia is a very restless girl. I'm worried about her going to such a gloomy place full of lustful boys." Noa rolled his eyes.
"First, you shouldn't have let her do that."
The CEO goes to the office that used to belong to his father, and his mother follows him. He walks a little and enters the office. Everything is the same as always. His father was a famous lawyer.
Unfortunately, he died young of cancer, but he took his place and became the best. He pours himself a drink, knowing that his mother is watching him.
"Noa, thank you for coming. I know you're very busy with your work, but it's been a long time since you've visited us."
"Don't worry, but I have to leave tomorrow afternoon. I have a meeting with some clients on Monday."
"So soon? You just got here."
"And now you're sending me out on the street to take care of two kids. What do you expect?" He takes a sip from his glass, purses his lips, frowns, and swallows the hot liquid. "I'm too old for this, Mom. You know that."
Anna looks down. Since her husband's death, her son has gone his own way. He has distanced himself from her and his sister because of work, just like his father did. Work was the only thing that mattered. Every Christmas, she asked Noah to come, but he never did.
It was unfortunate that her son was following in his father's footsteps.
"I need you to take care of those girls."
"What about Violeta?"
"What about her?"
"Do her parents approve of this trip?"
Anna blinks a few times at her son's question, looks at her hands, and feels very sad when she realizes how out of touch her son is with everything.
"Son, Violeta's parents died four years ago in a plane crash. I told you on the phone, but I think you were distracted."
Noa was shocked by the news. She was an orphan, which she hadn't expected. She looked down at her empty glass.
"Her uncle is taking care of her. He's her father's brother." He was the only one who wanted to take care of her after the Fullers died."
"An uncle? I understand! I guess he also left her outings in your care."
"Well, that's what Violeta and Lucia told me. They also left me a letter signed by him giving me permission to let her go out."
Noa frowns and smiles wryly. His mother was completely naive. Those girls were really sneaky. Now, he planned to watch them closely. What were they planning to do?
"Don't worry, Mom. I'll watch them closely."
"Thank you, son. I'm glad to know that someone who's not crazy will be there with them."
"Of course..."
