The deadline
Lennard.
Willow was seated next to me in a tiny towel, her cheeks flushed and eyes searching mine while she asked ridiculous questions.
I’d never seen her look so confident. To be honest, I was shocked that she was trying to seduce me and. Craziest part about it was that it was working.
My dick was hard as a rock, throbbing against my pants. If I dared touch the zipper, I knew it would spring free immediately.
My wolf stirred, silently demanding that I pull her closer. I shook my head because I could couldn’t do that to her. She didn’t know the truth about me. She believed I couldn’t see her. Taking advantage of that would make me a kind of person I was not.
I gently caught her wrist. “Willow. You should get some sleep.”
She smiled. “Are you afraid of having sex?”
She was so blunt. I shook my head, pretending to be shy and naive. Imagine having the hottest woman you’ve ever met next to you and you have to pretend that you can’t see just how warm and inviting her body looks.
My hand was desperately itching to touch her luscious thigh and trail upwards. The memories of her nakedness from the day she shifted came back. I just wanted to touch that pussy, rub it and watch her face as she climaxed.
“I’m not ready,” I lied, my breaths coming slowly. The tension in my body was too much. The only thing I wanted to bend her over and fvck her hard on the couch.
She stared at me for some time before nodding. “It’s okay. I’m sorry for making you uncomfortable.”
“It’s alright.” I said. How I wished she knew I was just pretending.
“Believe me, I’m not always like this.” she shook her head. “I don’t know what came over me.”
“It’s alright. Don’t worry about it.”
“Goodnight, Lennard.”
“Goodnight.”
When disappeared into her room, I just sat there staring at the closed door. My wolf growled inside me, accusing me of letting her go but I ignored him. This was the right decision.
Eventually, I went to bed but I couldn’t sleep. I couldn’t get rid of the image of her standing before me in that short towel, her sexy legs in full display.
I didn’t know how I was going to survive with her in my apartment but I couldn’t get weak. Getting involved with Willow would affect my revenge.
When I woke the next morning, Willow was moving around the apartment, cleaning. I remained in bed for a few minutes as she moved around the living room, rearranging things and sweeping.
After pretending to be asleep for over ten minutes, I got up, put on slacks and a big t-shirt then went to the living room. “Good morning.”
She dropped the cloth in her hand and picked it up immediately. She had gone back to her normally shy self overnight. “Good morning.”
“How was your first night?”
“Good,” she said. “But I’m embarrassed about my behavior. I’m so sorry.”
“It’s okay. You did nothing wrong. In any case, I’m flattered that you think me worthy enough to sleep with.”
She continued wiping the table for a while. “I’m going back to work at the pack house,” she stated.
“Why?”
“Because I still have a job.”
“You don’t have to go back there.”
“I know,” she said placing the cloth down. “But I need the money.”
“You can stay here.”
She shook her head. “I can’t live here without contributing. It will feel like I’m taking advantage of you.”
“It’s okay,” I said. “It’s good to have something to do but if those idiots try to embarrass you again, you will quit. If you need another job, I’ll get you one.”
For now, it was best for her to continue working there. If I ever needed information from the pack house without stepping foot there, she would be the perfect person to get it from.
After breakfast eating the sumptuous breakfast she prepared, I decided to leave. “I’ll take a walk.”
“Alone?”
“I’ll be fine.”
“You can’t see.”
I smiled. “I’ve managed so far.”
Picking up my cane, I walk out of the house. The moment the door closed, my expression changed. I could see perfectly as I walked into the quiet streets. But I walked slowly, maintaining the careful pace expected from a blind man.
After some time, I realized someone was following me. I continued walking slowly for a while, trying to figure out if they were really following me or I was mistaken.
When I increased my pace, the person did the same. I couldn’t run because that would reveal my identity. Eventually, I turned into a narrow path surrounded by trees but the footsteps followed.
So, I stopped. Looking around, I noticed there was no one else around so if things got worse, I could take on this guy without worrying about being caught.
“Who’s there?” I asked, looking around. When I didn’t hear anything, I tightened my grip on the cane. “I know you’re following me.”
A hooded figure stepped from behind a tree. I prepared myself for an attack which never came. The person lowered his hood and I saw his face.
“Cole.” I said, staring at the real Lennard’s older brother Cole.
“What are you doing here?” I asked.
“We need to talk.”
“Okay.”
He glanced around before lowering his voice. “You have one month. Lennard wants his identity back.”
I frowned. “Why is he suddenly in such a hurry?”
“Because he’s tired of hiding,” Cole pulled his hood farther over his head. “He’s tired of keeping a low profile. Every time someone sees him, he has to disappear before they start asking questions.”
This was not good for me.
“My brother wants his life back,” he continued. “Now you have one month. Deal with your stepmother and your brother, and get your throne back as soon as possible.”
After speaking, he left before I couldn’t say anything else. As he disappeared into the trees, I remained there, staring at the direction he’d taken.
How was I going to do everything in one month? Although I’d been in the pack for over three months, I’d not yet got anything solid on my step brother and my mother.
How was I going to regain the throne in a month?
